My mother is 89 years of age and has dementia. Cedar Grange is her home and her world. It is a place where she is not only safe, but 'feels safe'. Whilst the building is beautiful, I believe that my mother's happiness comes from the caring relationship that she enjoys with all members of staff, who 'genuinely care' and include families in their care plans.
Mums room was beautiful, the staff looked after my dad as well, making a fuss of him for which he's very grateful for. Although the CQC report had a couple of points I wouldn't have any issues in referring this care home, sometimes you have to go with your gut feeling which I did and it payed off.
My family and myself want to say thank you for making mums final days special.

I started my career with Cedars Care Group in 2000 when the group was in its infancy. My
initial role was as a domestic cleaner at Woodlands Manor in Southport. It was a challenging
but rewarding experience. After a few short years, I progressed from Head Housekeeper to
Housekeeping Manager, overcoming various obstacles along the way.
As the group expanded, our CEO saw in me the dedication and skills needed for the role of
Quality Assurance Manager in the new Operations team. My responsibilities include
ensuring home compliance, overseeing maintenance work, and managing projects across
the entire group, a role I take on with a steadfast commitment to quality care.
I was recently approached to take on the role of Home Manager for Cedar Grange. I didn’t
hesitate to accept, as Cedar Grange has always been a source of pride for me. In
September 2019, I collaborated with the Operations team to assist Cedar Grange in
achieving an "Outstanding" CQC rating in responsiveness—a distinction that is not easily
attained. Furthermore, Cedar Grange received the "Best End of Life Care" award from the
Gold Standard Framework. This initial accreditation was a six-month process, during which
my team and I diligently compiled evidence to meet their 20 standards of care, resulting in a
Gold award. Upon re-accreditation, we were honoured to receive the highest possible award,
the Platinum Award. The team and the home are incredibly proud of these achievements.
It goes without saying that I am very proud of Cedar Grange. I am now happy to say I am the
manager while continuing my responsibilities with the Operations Support Team. I am
excited to lead Cedar Grange and support the team in achieving our goals. I am grateful to
Cedars Care Group for the opportunities and support that have led me to this point in my
career.
My journey began in 2000, while I was still in my final year of school. I started as a weekend
worker at Ash Croft House Nursing home. After my exams, the then manager recognized
my potential and offered me a full-time position, which I gratefully accepted. This was just
the start of my career, and I am deeply thankful for the opportunities that have come my way.
I have since progressed from HCA to Floor Manager, then to Care Manager and Deputy
Manager, a testament to my ambition and drive.
In 2012, with Cedars Group's growth, our CEO created the Operational Support Team, a
crucial department that provided strategic and operational support to our care facilities. I was
offered the position of Operational Care Manager, overseeing the teams in the different
homes and ensuring the highest standards of care across the board.
My work in the care field has not only been my vocation but also gives me a great sense of
pride. It is so rewarding, and I am lucky enough to say that I love my job and the impact it
has on the lives of those we care for.
Today, I find great joy in working closely with the staff at all our homes. My role goes beyond
management; I strive to empower our staff to grow and succeed. From senior carers to
deputy managers, I encourage and support their professional development, fostering a
culture of learning and progression.
