My father is very well looked after, the staff are very friendly and will listen if theres a problem and find a solution. My father had a downstairs room but was finding that residents were mistaking his room for the bathroon in fhe night,so when an upstairs room became available he was moved to an upstairs room

My husband IF has had upsets and difficulties and I have been kept informed at all times. The staff are, as always, wonderful and supportive. The illness and the difficulties it causes have an impact on the family but the staff have time for me as well as my husband.
Woodlands Manor is brilliant. The staff keep the residents as active as possible, depending on the individual, and the atmosphere is one of warmth and friendliness. The home is always clean and well maintained. There is always ongoing work to keep standards high.

I can't thank Liz, Aby and the team enough for all the care they give.

My dad went into Cedar Grange for respite care in November 2025. He realised he is safer staying in there than living at his home so he decided he wanted to stay. All the staff take good care of him & make sure he is always clean & tidy. They have activities on most days, a pub, a café, tv lounges, a conservatory & dressing up room. All the staff are very welcoming & will do anything to help you. The home is very clean & tidy as is dads bedroom. They decorate the home for Halloween, Christmas etc. My dad has just had a birthday & the staff made his day a special one, they got him a cake, sang happy birthday to him & put up decorations.
Thank you to ALL the staff, you are amazing.

I would recommend this home to anyone.

My Mum has been a resident of Woodlands since April 2023 and is one of the longest residents.
The journey with Mum's Dementia hasn't been easy but now I am more than ever greatful to Liz, Aby and the staff for their wonderful care.
Accidents happen and shes had a couple of falls. I am so grateful that I am always informed of what has happened with her and what is going on with her.
The home is beautifully decorated and the home has no unpleasant smells, the cleaning and care of the residents is so professional.
I have been helped with the transition of Mum going into the home, from living with me. There professional advice has always been spot on.

I highly recommend this home. My peace of mind regarding my Mum's care is priceless. I am so grateful to the staff and management for everything.

My Mum received care at Woodlands Manor for about 18months. All the different staff were kind and caring, and encouraged and supported her during her stay. Unfortunately Mum deteriorated, and the staff were amazing at the support they gave her and us as family at the end of her life. They were compassionate, kind and professional in the way they cared for her and we will always be grateful to each one of them. Thank you

The home is good and accommodating for all visitors and residents. Mum appears to receive a good level of care and is settled at the home. The team are friendly and welcoming. Advance notice of outbreaks and not being allowed to visit would be good. A simple generic email to all next of kin would help.

Always able to get a brew and biscuits.

Review of Winscombe Hall from Terence K (Son of Resident) published on 29 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother moved to Winscome Hall late in 2025 as her clinical needs were not being catered for in her previous home.

I have been delighted with the care that mum has received since she moved into Winscombe Hall & during that relatively short period, all of mums pressing needs have already been addressed & due to the attention & care she has received, she is far more comfortable & has reclaimed the dignity she deserves. The communication between Winscombe Hall & my sister & I has been proactive & kind, so "the family" are far less anxious about mums condition, as we are now confident that she is receiving the medical care she needs in a caring environment.

The care my mum received was absolutely excellent. All the staff exhibited such care and understanding to both us and mum; this included not just the nursing and care staff, but also cleaners, maintenance and catering staff. All this made it easier for his to deal with what turned out to be the last 3 weeks of her life. The building was in a really peaceful location.

Review of Woodlands Manor EMI Care Home from Annie L (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Woodlands exceeded all of our expectations in the care they provided to my father. The leadership of the manager, Liz & her deputy Aby was clearly reflected throughout the home. The care provided by the entire staff team was exceptional & always delivered with kindness, dignity & genuine warmth. My father was treated as an individual, not just as someone with dementia, & staff made real efforts to support his independence, happiness & sense of identity. He loved the activities on offer, particularly music, dancing, trips out & it was clear that staff genuinely cared about engaging residents & making life enjoyable for them. The food is excellent & visitors are always made welcome at any time.

Sadly, my father's health declined.Woodlands enabled him to receive end-of-life care within the home, surrounded by family. The care, dignity & kindness shown to him & to us during that time was extraordinary & something we will always be grateful for. I would highly recommend to anyone.

I cannot speak highly enough of Woodlands Manor EMI Home on Chambers Road, Southport. Knowing my parents are cared for in such a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment gives me great peace of mind.

All the staff are great - kind, patient, and genuinely caring. They understand the needs of residents with EMI and always treat my parents with dignity and respect. The team take the time to get to know each resident, and nothing ever feels rushed.

I would especially like to mention Liz, the Manager, and Aby, the Deputy, who do an outstanding job. They are approachable, professional, and clearly dedicated to providing high-quality care, which shows throughout the home.

The home is clean, comfortable, and welcoming, with excellent communication with families. I am extremely grateful to everyone at Woodlands Manor and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality care for their parents, relatives, or friends.

I Would recommend woodlands to anyone looking for a secure & homely place for a loved one. The dedicated staff show love, care & most of all respect to each resident & go out of their way to cater for their individual needs. The home is managed really well with Manager Liz providing lots of activities and outings for residents. Catering staff also do an amazing job with freshly prepared dinners & afternoon tea & cakes in abundance. When visiting loved ones you are always made to feel very welcome & I was kept well informed on any health issues that arose and updated on a regular basis. Woodlands is a unique & special place with lovely staff, full of fun & laughter.

Overall Experience
My uncle has now been a resident of Woodlands Manor for just over a year, and he has settled in well, in spite of not wanting to leave his own home. The staff are kind, gentle, caring, and very hard working. They are led by Liz, who is innovative, energetic and cheerful. She has a wonderful relationship with the residents, and is always receptive to communication from us as a family.
Liz and the staff have good systems in place to monitor the well being of the residents. They are happy and have fun, and the food is excellent.
Much effort is made to celebrate all their special occasions, as well as national events. Themed days and parties are frequent, as well as community links, entertainers, and visits from animals.
The home is clean, the rooms are modern, and there is a lovely verandah and garden.
Liz and the team are always looking for ways to improve their offering, and are open to suggestions.

We are very happy with my uncle's care and know he is in safe hands.

Very happy with the care Harry receives from Woodlands. He has settled in extremley well and overall is very happy with the care he receives. It has been noted by ourselves that Harry and other residents are afforded the dignity and respect and the encouragement to ensure that there independance is mantained as is a proactive approach in there own decision making. It is a happy home one that both residents and relatives are made to feel welcome and part of the woodlands family. Liz (manager and her team ) always have activites daily keeping residents motivated ,engaged and stimulated, There have been many trips out with the newly aquired minibus which have been received well and enjoyed. Harry is always complaining about the food -not the quality but that theres to much of it !!

Woodlands Manor Care Home in Southport has been absolutely wonderful for my mum. She has dementia, and the care and attention she receives here are exceptional. The staff are so kind, patient, and genuinely caring - they make her feel comfortable, respected, and at home. It's such a relief to see her so settled and happy, as if she's living in her own home. After two falls in lounge and going into hospital, they found he had cellulitis: it was 4 days the Dr said I'll come back in 4 days. - I'm not qualified, but I could see a line around his arm, so they left him in bed. I was quite annoyed so they called an ambulance, kept in hospital for 2 days. When I asked if they could raise his arm, the nurse in the care home picked a cushion from the floor and placed it under his arm. She didn't see the wound around the elbow that was weeping, "Oooh" she said, "I didn't see that". I had to ask for a dressing - no one was in the room at the time.
