Overall Experience
My mother moved to Winscome Hall late in 2025 as her clinical needs were not being catered for in her previous home.

I have been delighted with the care that mum has received since she moved into Winscombe Hall & during that relatively short period, all of mums pressing needs have already been addressed & due to the attention & care she has received, she is far more comfortable & has reclaimed the dignity she deserves. The communication between Winscombe Hall & my sister & I has been proactive & kind, so "the family" are far less anxious about mums condition, as we are now confident that she is receiving the medical care she needs in a caring environment.

The care my mum received was absolutely excellent. All the staff exhibited such care and understanding to both us and mum; this included not just the nursing and care staff, but also cleaners, maintenance and catering staff. All this made it easier for his to deal with what turned out to be the last 3 weeks of her life. The building was in a really peaceful location.

After two falls in lounge and going into hospital, they found he had cellulitis: it was 4 days the Dr said I'll come back in 4 days. - I'm not qualified, but I could see a line around his arm, so they left him in bed. I was quite annoyed so they called an ambulance, kept in hospital for 2 days. When I asked if they could raise his arm, the nurse in the care home picked a cushion from the floor and placed it under his arm. She didn't see the wound around the elbow that was weeping, "Oooh" she said, "I didn't see that". I had to ask for a dressing - no one was in the room at the time.

The Care my mum is receiving is excellent. Communication compassion and physical health care needs and knowledge is second to none. staff always have plenty of time for my mum. the environment is clean, smells fresh and lovely. The Staff don't appear stressed or unhappy they love their job and nothing is too much trouble. this is the best place I have seen in a long time and I work in health care myself. The Chefs cook amazing Meals and my mum is fussy, they will cater for any dietary requirements. The Registered Nurses are excellent as is the Home Manager. they always can answer my queries however small and are very supportive to me as well.
I couldn't fault Winscombe Hall in any shape or form. My Mum really feels at home and loves it.

Thank you to you all.

My husband was in Winscombe Hall for 4 weeks before he passed away. I was impressed by the care provided for him during his stay, and the caring staff who maintained his dignity to the end of his life.

We are very happy with the care our father is receiving. Our only complaint would be the food, as this is very poor. The staff are very kind and friendly, and the care of our Dad is high. He also has a lovely room overlooking the gardens.

Mum is very happy at Winscombe Hall. The relief at finding somewhere that welcomes and cares for her, that is so clean, comfortable and relaxed is massive. The surroundings of the house, on the hill overlooking the countryside where she was brought up as a child, are perfect. The staff are always smiling and happy, and very communicative with me.

My wife and I have known this lady for over 50 years. She was always very talkative but since she has developed Alzheimer's her personality has changed. She seems to be well cared for at Winscombe Hall and the staff that we have met are very helpful. She is always clean and her room is tidy. The only negative comment is that her room is at the lack of the house with a view of a brick wall. Winscombe Hall is an old property with interesting features, it's a shame that it is so far away making it difficult for visitors.

My mother was accepted to Winscombe Hall in February 2024. It turned out to be perfect for her with her developing needs. The staff and manager were very attentive and patient, and all seemed to like Mum.

She didn't partake in any of the social activities on offer, being bedbound - so there is a lot more on offer than Mum could use. When she passed away, the staff were with her, comforted her, and was communicative with me, for which I was very grateful.

The care shown to my father in his last few days by everyone from cleaners, laundry, care, nursing and home manager was exemplary and we can't thank them enough for making his last few days such caring ones. This caring attitude from every member of staff was a great comfort to my mum and the rest of the family. A huge thank you from us all.

My nana was a resident at Winscombe Hall. Throughout her time there, she had laughter, love and kindness given to her by so many of the staff. It became apparent in her final days that she was adored and loved by them and certain individuals, and telling stories of their time with Nana, gave us warmth and comfort.
The support from management, nursing staff and carers for us as a family towards the end was incredible. They took time to really talk us through everything, and they were so thorough. They made sure the family were fed and watered.

I cannot thank you all enough! Thank you so much for looking after my nana.

Mum initially came to Winscombe Hall for respite from the hospital and ended up staying for six months before she sadly passed away. The care and compassion shown towards Mum and us during this difficult time was outstanding. It was so lovely how much love Mum had for all of the staff; she was very fond of them, and them of her. It was truly lovely to see, and I will hold this close to my heart and be forever grateful. Thank you.

The Manager and her team looked after our mum in her final few weeks. We are so grateful to them for the kind, diligent and professional care they gave her, making sure her last days were as comfortable as possible, which is everything we could have wished for. We are particularly grateful for the excellent updates we received, both in person and on the phone, whenever there was a change in mum’s condition. Thank you to everyone for making our mum’s passing as gentle as possible.

I started my career training to be a beauty therapist, where I gained the highest
qualifications. I initially moved to domiciliary care because I wanted to work in a profession
where I could help people, which has always been a passion of mine. I have never looked
back and genuinely feel it has been my calling.
My journey at Winscombe Hall began in 2019, where I quickly proved my dedication and
work ethic. Within eight weeks, I progressed from a carer to a Floor Manager, a testament to
my commitment to providing excellent care and my ability to take on new challenges.
In 2021, I was offered the position of Deputy Manager, and I have enjoyed the challenge and
learning the more in-depth nuances of care.
At the end of 2024, when the Manager decided to move on to pastures new, I was offered
the position of Home Manager. It was my great pleasure to accept, as Winscombe Hall holds
a large space in my heart, and I have great pride in the home. I am proud to be part of the
Winscombe Hall family and share in its achievements.
As I look to the future, I am excited about the opportunities to further enhance Winscombe
Hall. I am committed to maintaining its current high standards and am eager to explore new

ways to improve and innovate, ensuring that it remains a fantastic home for all.

My career has always revolved around administration, but I only entered the care industry
when I moved to Weston in 2013. I love working in the care industry; even when you are
working in an office setting and not on the floor, it can still be so rewarding. I get to meet and
speak to the residents' families, from the first visit when they are viewing the home to an
ongoing point of contact throughout their journey, building positive relationships for all who
live and work here.
My journey with the Cedars Group began at Winscombe Hall in April 2024. The first time I
visited the home to meet the manager, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the
country manor home. This unique setting is something I deeply appreciate and it's a privilege

to work in such a distinguished beautiful environment.
