The staff were always lovely, and, unprompted, they provided us, as a family, with a picnic in the gardens on my Dad’s 90th birthday! Mum really enjoyed seeing us all together. The picnic was lovely and a really kind thought. The manager was always nothing but accommodating, and called me when I had emailed him with a list of questions that I needed answering, just the usual sort of anxious questions that anyone would have in their first experience of having a relative in a care home. He addressed all my concerns and was reassuring and professional. When mum left Summerfields in October, a vase (not valuable, but precious to me, as was my grandmother’s) had gone astray in the move. A staff member on mum’s floor went above and beyond, weeks after Mum had moved out, to locate the vase – which she did! – and she took the time and trouble to keep in contact with my Dad. Such a kind thing to do, and very much appreciated by us. I commend Summerfields for the care that they provided
Thank you for your kind comment, Liz. We know how loved your mum is by you and your family, and we know how important it is for you to trust those who look after her. We hope you have felt a good rapport between your family and our staff. We hope your Mum has settled in well in her new home. Please pass on our best wishes for her from all of us at Summerfields. Regards Andy
Our mum passed away today in this wonderful caring place. I’ll be forever thankful that the staff in this brilliant home were there in her final hours, where we couldn’t be. Thank you all - you deserve a medal.
The care my dad is receiving is fantastic. The staff are lovely and all seem to treat residents as part of their family. During the COVID lockdown staff have cared for protected residents brilliantly. Thank you all.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we appreciate your feedback this helps us to improve the quality of care that is delivered. We hope to see you soon.
I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff for making mum feel so welcome. She joined Summer Fields Care Home in June during the coronavirus and although we could not see inside the care home you could tell how much care they provide. We have always been kept up-to-date. I met up with mum in their new pod after not being able to see her for a few weeks and it was emotional and lovely. Thank you so much to everyone at Summer Fields.
I am so glad to hear that the visiting pod is a success. Thank you for your kind words, I am glad to hear you feel like your mum had a good welcome to Summer Fields.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Summerfield Care Home. Mum was transferred there 2 weeks ago from the hospital. It has been hard during this Coronavirus lockdown as I couldn't view it nor enter. Mum seems to have settled in really well. The staff have been amazing and have kept me updated about mum. I visited mum in the pod yesterday and am so grateful to have seen her. She looked so well and cared for and the carers are so accomodating. From the bottom of my heart thank you for caring for her, it's amazing to know she is in safe hands.
Thank you for your feedback, this means a lot to the staff, and we hope to see you soon.
Social Services recommended this Care Home for my Dad during the Coronavirus lockdown so I couldn’t view it nor enter. But having read the good reviews, I agreed. Dad has really settled in thanks to the genuine staff and when I took Dad it was heartbreaking for me but because the deputy manager was so friendly upon our arrival, I knew Dad would be safe and well cared for in Summer Fields. The gardens are well kept and the rooms are nice. Staff keep me updated about Dad which is so appreciated. I would like to thank the staff for all that they do for my lovely Dad and hopefully, I can meet you all one day soon. Stay safe, so much thanks to you all.
Thank you for your lovely response, we really appreciate it and we cannot wait to meet you, we are working hard to keep everyone safe.
Possibly more carers and 1 management needed on weekends.
Thank you for the positive feedback. It's always appreciated. Please be assured that while management are not in the home during the weekend, the home is not left without qualified supervisors. We have Team leaders on shift as well as our senior care staff to ensure continuity of care. Management...
From the first meeting with the assistant manager, I knew this was the right place. All staff are amazing and nothing is too much. They keep us informed all the time if there are any issues. Mum has improved since being there and I feel it is the fact she has company and gets involved. Previous to going to the home she would be on her own not going out or doing anything, all she had was family visits.
This is lovely to hear. Thank you for such positive feedback and continued support for all of the staff. It's very much appreciated.
My Nan turned 100 in October last year and the staff and other residents were amazing. Nothing is ever too much trouble for this team. They keep the residents entertained, engaged and are always thinking of new things to do. I have visited the residence many times and the place is always clean, the residents happy and the staff seriously amazing. I would high recommend.
Love from all at Summer Fields.
I am very happy with the care that is given. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is very good.
Love from all At Summer Fields.
Due to the recent outbreak of covid19 virus and everyone on lockdown, it is hard for everyone to see their loved ones and especially when they are living in care. We as a family are very close to our nan and the staff have gone out of their way at this very difficult time to keep all residents safe and to video call the family so we can see our loved ones. This is amazing as we get to see them face to face and talk as if we are with them. I can not thank Summerfield Care Home and staff enough. I know my Nan is well looked after and treated like family, I know she is in safe hands and I do not have to worry about her. I enjoy my call from her, all thanks to the staff you're doing an amazing job, everyone. Thank you so much.
This is such a lovely review, thank you so much for your kind words, I will pass these lovely words to the staff. The staff have said they are looking forward to seeing you all again, your cakes and cup of teas and friendly faces are missed.
Love from all At Summer Fields
The staff begged me to choose Summer Fields for him because they had grown so fond of him and I realised that this was the case and was sure that he could not be in a better place. I believe that suspending visiting weeks before lockdown has saved lives. It is clearly well run.
Thank you for your support and kind words this means a lot to the staff and we hope to see you again soon. Love from all at Summer Fields
Excellent care home who responded to the Covid-19 outbreak with thorough professionalism. Closed home well before lockdown, having the resident's safety and wellbeing in mind, and throughout have kept in touch to keep me informed of my Mums care and all actions taking place within the home to keep the resident's safe.
Love from all at Summer Fields
Staff and management excellent. Mum's room is very good. I am very happy with the Summer Fields Care Home. Food is excellent. Staff very caring.
Thanks, Kelly.
My aunt is a temporary resident waiting for an assessment. The staff seem helpful and kind. She enjoys the food. Some parts of the home could do with a lick of paint but on the whole, is very clean.
The painting is on our action plan and is a priority.
Mum is well looked after and encouraged to take part in various activities.
Her room is clean, warm and cosy but to be fair is not unlike a hotel room as only used for sleeping in at night.
We were even invited to have dinner with Mum there on Christmas day which I thought was a lovely gesture from the home itself as we couldn't bring Mum out due to her ailments.
I can't fault any of the staff, they are all great, from management to care staff, they go above and beyond the call of duty and anyone that says otherwise has me to answer to! We wanted the best for our mum and in choosing Summerfields we know we made the right choice.
Keep up the good work Summerfields.
Thank you for your lovely feedback Julie, we do strive to ensure all people who are at Summer Fields have person-centred care. I will ensure that I communicate this review with all staff, your mum is well loved by all at Summer Fields.
Cannot thank the staff enough for the care they give to my nan. They do an amazing job, I cannot single any of the carers out because they are all fantastic. My nan has been ill over the past couple of weeks and even though they have a lot of people there to care for, they have made sure my nan has had the best care they could give everyone. They are an asset to the home and residents. You are all amazing and do a fantastic job.
Thank you Nicki for your review, your feedback is very encouraging and we will ensure that the care your Nan is happy at Summer Fields, I will pass your fantastic review to the staff at Summer Fields.
I highly recommend Summerfield Care Home.
The carers and management are genuine and give proper care. One of the carers is giving up her Sunday morning to take my mum to church and getting in half an hour early so she can walk my mum there. Amazing! Also, she has done a painting and I popped in 10 minutes ago and there she was in the cinema, drinking a small glass of wine with cheese and biscuits enjoying a good film with her friend. This gives me so much peace of mind knowing my mum is getting the best care anyone could possibly give her thank you, Summerfield, I haven't seen my mum so happy for years.
Overall, a very good provider of care.
I visit my friend usually three times a week and take him out for the morning or afternoon.
I am always greeted warmly by members of staff who are very attentive to my friend's needs. The staff are multi-racial which adds colour and diversity and great friendship among them. A very happy atmosphere is always present. "Thank you all".

Meet the Team (1)

I have worked with Your Health Group for almost three years. I enjoy being a part of a team that is making the lives of our residents as happy and comfortable as possible, ensuring that their care needs are met each and every day.
My care career began 18 years ago, and over the years I have developed a vast knowledge of Dementia and what it takes to provide an excellent standard of care to those who are vulnerable and dependent on others. I have progressed from kitchen assistant to senior care team and now Home Manager, completing my NVQs in Health and Social Care and a Diploma Level 5 in Management and Leadership.
I really do love my job and the challenges it brings each day - every day really is different. It means so much when you see the people you look after not only living happily but thriving. I have an incredibly dedicated team working alongside me. They, and the rewards of the job, are why I will always enjoy this job, even after 18 years!
