My mum,. who was 95 and had had Alzheimer's disease for 10 years, moved into Plessington Court in spring 2026 for what turned out to be the last few months of her life. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff, who showed her such care, compassion and love and always treated her as the person she was. It feels like a real home - and I found getting to know the staff and residents alike when I visited a pleasure. For the last two weeks of mum's life we were at her bedside all day, and the staff were so careful and thoughtful in looking after her, and all of us too. Mum had a very peaceful death, surrounded by her family, and we can't thank the staff and the home managers enough for the part they played in her life.

Thank you for your very kind review. It was an absolute pleasure providing care and support for your mum, and being able to support you, and your siblings to spend some quality time with your mum. What a wonderful home for people who sadly suffer from dementia and can no longer live independently at home.
After a failed unsuitable admission to another care home, Dad moved to Plessington Court in November 2025. Initially he was very unsettled but because of the skill and care of all the staff there he is now comfortable and happy in his new home environment.
As a life-long nurse myself - I have every faith that Dad is very loved and cared for by the whole team - any wishes or requests are dealt with appropriately. Any changes in Dads well being are communicated efficiently and I am fully involved with all decisions regarding his needs and care plan

I am very grateful that we found this provider for Dads last life chapte

If only Mum had known that living in a care home could be like this she would have moved there much sooner. She feels safe and looked after, all the staff are truly caring and the activities keep everyone active and busy. Mum says "Thank you" every day to my sister for finding Plessington Court.

Having cared for mum at home for several years, we were reluctant to rehome her in a residential home, but following a serious fall, we felt this was the safest option for her. Mum received a lovely welcome from staff at Plessington Court and actually settled in quite quickly and is very happy with her new house. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and they without exception appear very happy in their work. The setting is beautiful and residents enjoy outside area daily depending on weather. Food lovely, fun and stimulating, activities on offer. Well manager by the management team.

Mum was accepted into Plessington Court after it was decided that her advancing dementia was making it difficult for staff at her previous residential home to offer the appropriate care she needed. Though it was a difficult decision at the time, we soon realised that it was the right one. With help and encouragement from the wonderfully patient and caring staff, Mum very quickly became a very contented member of the community spending most of her day along with the other residents in the lounge and communal areas with staff members always at hand.
Tidiness and cleanliness of the residents' rooms and the premises in general cannot be faulted and the recent lounge and dining room extensions, along with the beautiful new sensory garden have given a light, airy and spacious feel to the communal areas.
All management team members are friendly and approachable and are keen to keep relatives in touch with any matters relating to their loved one's care.

Pleased to say we are very satisfied.

Mum lived at Plessington Court for the last 2 years of her life. It became her home and she was cared for in the most amazing way by staff who showed her all the love and understanding you could possibly wish for.
Plessington is a light, clean, modern building with en-suite bedrooms. The gardens and the dementia-friendly cafe in the grounds were visited often.
The thing which makes Plessington outstanding, however, is the people. They are knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, and dedicated to making the lives of the residents as full and happy as possible. Mum’s love of singing, poetry, and knitting were all encouraged and she loved the staff, all of whom were known as ‘nice lady’.

Mum passed away at Plessington in July following a stroke. The carers were truly wonderful, preserving Mum’s dignity and well-being to the last. Their love for her and support for us made them part of our family and the hardest of times more bearable. I cannot recommend Plessington Court highly enough.

Thank you for your kind review. It is very touching and generous, a very difficult one when your mum sadly passed. It is an honour to have known your mum and to be there with you all in the end. She is a bright light of inspiration and joy that has left us in body, but in the soul, she will live on in the thought and memories of the family of Plessington Court.

I cannot fault Plessington Court, all the staff go above and beyond from the kitchen staff and carers to the manager, they all take time with all the residents and nothing is too much trouble.
The food and cleanliness is also excellent.

I am so glad that my mum is here where she is happy and so well cared for. We saw a few other places but nothing compares to Plessington. If you want your loved ones somewhere that is 5-star do not hesitate to choose Plessington.

Mum has been in Plessington Court for about 8 weeks and tells the family daily that she loves it. Mum has a beautiful room with an ensuite bathroom and has been able to bring her favourite things from home with her. She has a view of fields and trees from her bedroom window and the whole building has a wonderfully calm atmosphere.

This home has exceptional staff who care very much for each resident and strive to help each person enjoy their lives. Mum has received loving care and attention from day one and when she has been confused and asking repeatedly to 'go home' they have treated her with respect and love. They encourage mum to help with small chores to make her feel valued. One lovely carer wrote a very special note in her personal notebook about how much they loved having her live there, telling her how special she was to them all and this kindness has really helped her settle. The management and staff are all outstanding. Our family feels so lucky that mum is in their care.

We made the difficult decision that Mum needed the 24-hour support of a care home after her dementia meant that staying at home was no longer safe. Plessington Court felt like a place where she could feel at home. We liked the small size (at that time 19 ensuite bedrooms) and nice decoration. Mum lived at Plessington Court for over three and a half years. The team were unfailingly kind to Mum. The Manager contacted me in Feb 20 to discuss Mum's care during Covid lockdown. Mum's health was on a gentle decline. Like all families, we had the difficult situation of being unable to visit, but the team at Plessington Court focused on supporting residents and their families from afar. They sent weekly newsletters with photos-we sent seeds to grow. Their new Activities Coordinator contacted us for stories and photos to create a memory box/framed picture. They made a great covid-secure visiting room. We were allowed to visit as she reached the end of life, Mum knew we were there.

Thank you for your kind review, we are glad you decided on Plessington Court, as caring for your mum was an absolute privilege. Plessington was the right fit for my dad. The onset of his condition - vascular dementia - at 67 made it very difficult to find a home that could cater to his needs, while still allowing him to be himself as a relatively young man. We had hit crisis point prior to stumbling across Plessington and instantly, I felt reassured by the manager's calm competence. Despite having to admit my dad during COVID times, the transition was smooth and we had a lot of support from the manager with regards to liaising with my dad's nurse and mental health practitioner. He settled better than we thought he would, and the staff did everything they could to allow my mum to visit him regularly in the home's purpose-built visitor pod. All of the staff are caring and genuine, and they looked after my mum's mental wellbeing as well as my dad's. Plessington truly takes an individual approach to each family's needs, and we are so grateful.

Thank you for this lovely review, we pride ourselves on personalised care and appreciate how hard it is to make the decision for a loved one to come into 24hr care. We support the whole family through this process and it's great to hear you felt supported throughout this difficult stage.

Mum is well looked after here. She has good days and bad, but the care and attention she received are great. The home is clean and tidy, bright and colourful, and many activities go on throughout the year. All staff attend to her every need and are always willing to stop and discuss Mum's needs, problems etc.

While it is difficult to gather first-hand information now visits have been postponed because of the Covid-19 virus, my impression is that the management and staff are continuing to provide a high level of care for the residents. My cousin (the resident), although suffering quite severely from dementia, always tells us how well she is being looked after and the evidence from our visits (before they had to stop) is consistent with this. They have always encouraged communication with the residents and were quick to set up a video calling facility and timetable when the virus precluded visits. This was particularly helpful for my wife and I, as we live 50 miles away from the home and enabled twice-weekly video calls, sometimes involving more physically distant family members. In particular, the measures that have been put in place to protect the residents from infection by the virus appear to have worked very well to date, despite initial problems obtaining testing and PPE.

Thank you for your kind review. Communication is paramount to us and we are pleased that the latest methods of using electronic methods to see and speak to each other have worked effectively for you and many others. Our residents often feedback to us that they feel “well cared for” and it is lovely to hear they also tell you they feel that way. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.

My mother has been at Plessington Court for a year now. I was impressed with the fact that it is light, modern and small. Most residential homes, are large. Plessington Court, takes only up to 20 residents.
The staff are young bright and enthusiastic. They do all sorts of activities with the residents - different crafts - flower arranging etc. The tables for dining are always set nicely with tablecloths and napkins.

Residents clothes are all nicely laundered and hung back up in their rooms. All rooms are always immaculately cleaned. There are nice quiet areas for visitors to sit when visiting relatives. All in all it is an excellently run home.
