Our father was really well looked after at Chapel House. The care team are delightful, treating our father with care, dignity and respect and guiding us through the stages of his illness. Chapel house is well run with people who care about the individual.
Reply from Keith Ley, Manager at The Chapel HouseThank you for your kind words. Feedback gives us a measure of where we are in terms of quality of care and support, and helps us focus in areas to improve. I am proud of our staff, how caring they are and supporting of relatives in what are, for some, the darkest days of their lived ones journey; hearing it from the perspective of a relative is heart warming. Take Care. Keith

What a wonderful home for people who sadly suffer from dementia and can no longer live independently at home.
After a failed unsuitable admission to another care home, Dad moved to Plessington Court in November 2025. Initially he was very unsettled but because of the skill and care of all the staff
there he is now comfortable and happy in his new home environment.
As a life-long nurse myself - I have every faith that Dad is very loved and cared for by the whole team - any wishes or requests are dealt with appropriately. Any changes in Dads well being are communicated efficiently and I am fully involved with all decisions regarding his needs and care plan
I am very grateful that we found this provider for Dads last life chapte
Reply from Keith Ley, Manager at Plessington CourtThank you for your kind review. It has given me a warm feeling to start a new day out with.

Reviews are read by those searching for the right home for their loved one. A review, coming from the perspective of someone who was also searching for a forever home, and had found it, is so powerful and reassuring.

It saddened me when I first met your dad in another care environment which failed him; a place that didn't appear to listen to him, both his words and actions. The right thing to do was to step in and support him and his family.

When your dad moved into Plessington Court the important things were to listen to him, see him 1st and his condition (a label) 2nd, be patient, treat him with dignity & respect, and work with family to get things right. I am pleased he is happier, and you are too. As you point out, communication is key, working together. Thank you

From the manager Keith, to the day and night teams caring for all the residents, my grandmother was treated with grace, dignity, kindness, and the utmost professionalism by everyone at Chapel House in her final days.
My Grandmother's arrival at Chapel House was organised quickly, and her time there
at the end of her life was brief, but the entire team made a very difficult job seem easy.
It's clear that Chapel House is an excellent facility. We would all be lucky to receive the quality of care provided there, should we ever need it.
Reply from Cathrina Moore, Director at The Chapel HouseThank you for your kind review. Your support to your grandmother in her final days was inspirational, the strength you demonstrated, which cannot have been easy for you as her grandchild, one with an obvious close bond. What is important to us in Chapel House is that we keep families together when someone moves into our care, even in their final days. You and your family are part of our community here, so please stay in toych.

Our mother (and grandmother) Lyn received the most professional and compassionate palliative care at Chapel House in recent in weeks. She unfortunately only had 6 days of palliative care with Chapel House before her passing but the staff could not have done more for mum during this difficult time. Their
support for us as a family was also kind, respectful and patient, and it is very clear that all residents at the home (short or longer term) and treated as if they were family members by all staff. A common question in healthcare is 'would you recommend this service to a member of your family or a close friend?' As a family member (and healthcare professional) I have no hesitation is saying yes I would recommend Chapel House for palliative care and/or dementia residential care (Lyn also lived with dementia in her final years). Thank you Chapel House, you were a blessing in mum's final days and hours.
Reply from Cathrina Moore, Director at The Chapel HouseThank you for your kind review, and also for the trust placed in us to care for your mum in, sadly, what were her final days. What is important to us in Chapel House is that anyone in the end stages of their life have their loved ones around them, are symptom free, and have a peaceful passing. We talk about someone having "a good death" in our care, something we would never advertise, but you have experienced. You really wrapped around your mum and stood beside us as we got things right for your mum, so a big thank you to you and the rest of the family. For us, person centred care doesnt stop at the moment your mum passes; we offer bereavement support through our Admiral Nurses based in the home should you or any of the family wish their support.

If only Mum had known that living in a care home could be like this she would have moved there much sooner. She feels safe and looked after, all the staff are truly caring and the activities keep everyone active and busy. Mum says "Thank you" every day to my sister for finding Plessington
Court.
Reply from Keith Ley, Manager at Plessington CourtThank you for your kind words and advocating on behalf of your mum. It had been and still is an absolute pleasure providing care for your mum. She has taken everything in her stride, made Plessington Court her home, and has helped others to settle in. It is lovely to see how connected she is with her family with regular post cards, visits, and social media. I watch the staff help mum to ensure this happens which may be as simple as setting the WhatsApp call or reading the post card, more so on a day when things aren't as clear for your mum. Thank you for your ongoing support and trust in the home.

When selecting a care home for our mum we were advised to assess based upon the staff rather than building facilities - Chapel House staff truly care for their resident. Mum is very settled and well looked after. We love the new peace garden and its great to have the cafe at the end of the cafe.
Reply from Keith Ley, Manager at The Chapel HouseThank you for your kind words, and mention of some of the facilities we don't often shout about. Thank you for your confidence in our staff and the care they provide. Your mum is a pleasure to support, always having a smile when spoken to, which is reward in itself for us and helps us get through the day. It gives us strength seeing how her two sons, daughters in law, and grandchildren, and friends visit regularly, which is testament to the mum she was before coming into a care home and still is. Chapel House has been home to our beautiful sister for 2 1/2 years and she has settled into life there very smoothly. She is cared for extreemly well by all the staff and it is obvious how much they genuinely love her. She's treated with dignity + tenderness and knows she is loved. I just want her to
feel at home + I feel she does.
Reply from Keith Ley, Manager at The Chapel HouseThank you for your kind review. I feel we work really closely with you as family to get things right, and your openness to discussion is refreshing. Your sister is a pleasure to provide care and support to, and yes, we do use the term "love" when we talk about "love care and attention", even if it is on a professional level. For me, when your sister smiles, the whole room lights up and it makes my day a better one. The whole emotional journey you are on as a family is clear to see, but you are open to support from the Nursing Team, myself, and our Admiral Nurses. as and when needed.

Having cared for mum at home for several years, we were reluctant to rehome her in a residential home, but following a serious fall, we felt this was the safest option for her. Mum received a lovely welcome from staff at Plessington Court and actually settled in quite quickly and is very happy with
her new house. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and they without exception appear very happy in their work. The setting is beautiful and residents enjoy outside area daily depending on weather. Food lovely, fun and stimulating, activities on offer. Well manager by the management team.
Reply from Keith Ley, Manager at Plessington CourtThank you for your kind words Gill. Feedback is something others in a similar position to your mum and family seek out. Gaining reassurance from the feedback. Your mum is a pleasure to support. It has only been a success due to the whole family working closely with us to ensure your mums move went smoothly; starting with that initial visit to us, my visit to mum in the hospital, all the family visiting, decision time, and then the actual move in. It all worked so well; your mum looked and still looks so stress free. It is rewarding to us seeing a family wrap round their relative, a precious gift, as much as all of you do. It is lovely to see your mum and all of you make the most of the Gift Caf which is situated on site. It certainly caters for your mums sweet tooth. Thank you

Mum was accepted into Plessington Court after it was decided that her advancing dementia was making it difficult for staff at her previous residential home to offer the appropriate care she needed. Though it was a difficult decision at the time, we soon realised that it was the right one. With help
and encouragement from the wonderfully patient and caring staff, Mum very quickly became a very contented member of the community spending most of her day along with the other residents in the lounge and communal areas with staff members always at hand.
Tidiness and cleanliness of the residents' rooms and the premises in general cannot be faulted and the recent lounge and dining room extensions, along with the beautiful new sensory garden have given a light, airy and spacious feel to the communal areas.
All management team members are friendly and approachable and are keen to keep relatives in touch with any matters relating to their loved one's care.
Pleased to say we are very satisfied.
Reply from Keith Ley, Manager at Plessington CourtThank for your kind words, which I hope others searching for the right place will gain encouragement from. Your mum is an absolute pleasure to support, and had settled in very quickly into the community we have helped develop in the home. I appreciate that your decision for mum to move was a stressful one, but we all worked well together to reduce the stress your mum may have experienced, and you having peace of mind,; being able to go on a long haul journey once you knew your mum was safe and cared for. My husband has been a resident in The Chapel House for over fourteen months so far and I have nothing but praise for this nursing home. The staff are extremely caring towards him, as well as offering support to my family and myself, welcoming us at any time. Apart from excellent nursing care, my husband
is offered a variety of 'well-being' activities and a lovely new sensory garden to enjoy. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and staff work hard to get to know each resident to ensure their general 'well-being'.

Chapel House have provided and continues to care for our family member who sadly at 91 fell ill having lived independently with dementia her illness turned our world upside down.
From the point of referral to date, we are so pleased with the care she receives on a daily basis. Communication is excellent
and the level of support given to my husband and myself has enabled us to become family members rather than carers and enjoy time with her.
She is always dressed in her own clothes and staff have great attention to detail.
Having worked in social care for over 40 years Chapel House have given us everything I know she needs and deserves and offers the highest standard of care.
Thank you.

During the 17 months, my mum was a resident at Chapel House her care was excellent. Mum had many complex health issues and advanced dementia. We had looked after her in our own home prior to her going into Chapel House but in the end, found it too challenging and we were exhausted.

As a resident

at Chapel House, she was treated with care, compassion and dignity. There was always communication from the staff with myself regarding her fluctuating condition and the changes that needed to be implemented eg. medication or to be seen by a doctor. Mum always looked clean and well-dressed. The manager, deputy manager and all staff day and night were friendly, supportive and very caring and I cannot thank them enough for looking after Mum so well in her final days. I will always remember their kindness.

Mum lived at Plessington Court for the last 2 years of her life. It became her home and she was cared for in the most amazing way by staff who showed her all the love and understanding you could possibly wish for.
Plessington is a light, clean, modern building with en-suite bedrooms. The gardens and
the dementia-friendly cafe in the grounds were visited often.
The thing which makes Plessington outstanding, however, is the people. They are knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, and dedicated to making the lives of the residents as full and happy as possible. Mum’s love of singing, poetry, and knitting were all encouraged and she loved the staff, all of whom were known as ‘nice lady’.
Mum passed away at Plessington in July following a stroke. The carers were truly wonderful, preserving Mum’s dignity and well-being to the last. Their love for her and support for us made them part of our family and the hardest of times more bearable. I cannot recommend Plessington Court highly enough.
Reply from Keith Ley, Manager at Plessington CourtThank you for your kind review. It is very touching and generous, a very difficult one when your mum sadly passed. It is an honour to have known your mum and to be there with you all in the end. Mum has been in Plessington Court for about 8 weeks and tells the family daily that she loves it. Mum has a beautiful room with an ensuite bathroom and has been able to bring her favourite things from home with her. She has a view of fields and trees from her bedroom window and the whole building has
a wonderfully calm atmosphere.
This home has exceptional staff who care very much for each resident and strive to help each person enjoy their lives. Mum has received loving care and attention from day one and when she has been confused and asking repeatedly to 'go home' they have treated her with respect and love. They encourage mum to help with small chores to make her feel valued. One lovely carer wrote a very special note in her personal notebook about how much they loved having her live there, telling her how special she was to them all and this kindness has really helped her settle. The management and staff are all outstanding. Our family feels so lucky that mum is in their care.
Reply from Keith Ley, Manager at Plessington CourtThank you for your kind words. Our staff deserve a pat on the back, which your kind comment has done. We made the difficult decision that Mum needed the 24-hour support of a care home after her dementia meant that staying at home was no longer safe. Plessington Court felt like a place where she could feel at home. We liked the small size (at that time 19 ensuite bedrooms) and nice decoration. Mum lived
at Plessington Court for over three and a half years. The team were unfailingly kind to Mum. The Manager contacted me in Feb 20 to discuss Mum's care during Covid lockdown. Mum's health was on a gentle decline. Like all families, we had the difficult situation of being unable to visit, but the team at Plessington Court focused on supporting residents and their families from afar. They sent weekly newsletters with photos-we sent seeds to grow. Their new Activities Coordinator contacted us for stories and photos to create a memory box/framed picture. They made a great covid-secure visiting room. We were allowed to visit as she reached the end of life, Mum knew we were there.
Reply from Jackie Jones, Manager at Plessington CourtThank you for your kind review, we are glad you decided on Plessington Court, as caring for your mum was an absolute privilege. Plessington was the right fit for my dad. The onset of his condition - vascular dementia - at 67 made it very difficult to find a home that could cater to his needs, while still allowing him to be himself as a relatively young man. We had hit crisis point prior to stumbling across Plessington and instantly,
I felt reassured by the manager's calm competence. Despite having to admit my dad during COVID times, the transition was smooth and we had a lot of support from the manager with regards to liaising with my dad's nurse and mental health practitioner. He settled better than we thought he would, and the staff did everything they could to allow my mum to visit him regularly in the home's purpose-built visitor pod. All of the staff are caring and genuine, and they looked after my mum's mental wellbeing as well as my dad's. Plessington truly takes an individual approach to each family's needs, and we are so grateful.
Reply from Jackie Jones, Manager at Plessington CourtThank you for this lovely review, we pride ourselves on personalised care and appreciate how hard it is to make the decision for a loved one to come into 24hr care. We support the whole family through this process and it's great to hear you felt supported throughout this difficult stage.
