Derek was admitted to Rose House initially for respite care after my sister was unable to care for him at home. This situation has not improved, and as a family we have been supported while transferring Derek into Rose House permanently. The planning has been very successful, although Derek struggled, he has been comforted and has settled in well with a good routine with all staff and residents.

I visit my friend Shiela once a week. Shiela has settled in really well which is a great relief to all her family & friends. This testimony to the friendly & professional staff. Shiela gets regular visits from chiropodist & hairdresser. I always feel welcome & the Christmas party was the best Christmas party I attended-so much positivity from the entertainment & staff. Shiela's room is lovely. Being so close to Ashton gardens, St Anne's town centre & the beach are also real benefits. Thank you to all the team x

Moving my mum in to a care home was my worst nightmare, the emotions i went through were truly heartbreaking. What can i say the difference choosing the right care home makes. From my very first visit the respect and emotional support i received from the management and all the staff was second to none. My mum has been at rose house for 12 weeks now and i have my life back knowing mum is so safe and extremely well looked after in every aspect. The home is so clean, comfortable and welcoming at all times, i can turn up unexpected and the home is always the same. All the staff are genuinely caring and very dedicated to service users. My time with my mum is now spent as quality time which i cant thank rose house enough for, i looked at many care homes and i can honestly say this was the best by far.

My Mum moved in just over four weeks ago, as a family we were worried she would struggle to adjust. To our amazement she has settled in really well. All the staff have been really lovely with her, and nothing seems too much trouble. Mum has made friends, has a lovely room overlooking the park and tells me the food is good.

There is a warm friendly atmosphere in the home, which you can feel the minute you walk in. Mum is happy to see me when I call to take her out, but she is equally happy to get back to see what's going on at Rose House.

I visit my cousin approx every 3 weeks. She is always happy and contented and looks presentable, especially when the hairdresser has visited. She likes her bedroom and always seems comfortable. She thinks the food is good.

My father settled in a lot easier than we originally thought.
Lovely bright room with a great view of the park.

My wife has been in Rose House for just over two years. From day one, she settled in the home very quickly, this was probably because the care and attention given by all the staff is excellent.
Finally, I'd just also like to say that the food served is exceptional.

Thank you.

My mum has been here for over a year now. I live abroad and so don't get the chance to visit often, but other family members keep me up to date.

I took Mum out for Christmas lunch. The staff always take care to make sure Mum is well dressed, and she had on a nice dress for the occasion. We had a lovely time together, but what reassured me most was to see the obvious joy Mum had when returning to the home afterwards. She really considers it her home now, and the staff takes great care of the residents. This means so much to me.

My mother has been a resident for over 12 months. It took her a few weeks to settle in (packing her bags to leave everyday), but she now loves it there. They have worked hard at providing more activities and social events for the residents and my mother enjoys these events a lot. They have listened to comments about the menu and changed it to suit most residents. They will always make something else for an individual who doesn't like a particular meal. The staff I have contact with are all caring and respectful.

The only area to work on is a better system for keeping track of the residents' clothing (and false teeth).

Reply from Sarah Bellamy, Director at Rose House Residential Care Home

Thanks for your lovely review and feedback. We take on board your feedback with regards to keeping track of things. I promise we do try very hard with your mum's teeth, to keep track of where mum has kept them safe, and we will keep trying! Many thanks, Sarah

Mum has been here since September 2023. Can't lie its been challenging but the carers are literally lovely, caring, patient and deserve the utmost respect for the care they give to the residents. It has a nice atmosphere when you walk in, there's always background noise and TV on as well as things to do for the residents if they want to participate. Overall very happy to know Mum is safe and being looked after.
