Our Aunty was admitted as an end of life bed ridden resident in February of 2022. Thanks to the dedicated, caring and compassionate care team, she enjoyed a dignified quality of life for a further 8 months. Our family will always be grateful for the sensitivity and support they provided for her and
us in these last precious months. They really are angels in disguise.

My Mum receives the best care possible at Highcliffe. The staff are always on hand to ease any worries I have. Their dedication, love and care have nursed my Mum back to good health and she is so happy here. I am always made welcome and the peace of mind I have is wonderful. I can not thank all the
staff enough.

A lovely independently-run home with caring staff and management who treat the residents and their loved ones with unlimited care, empathy and love not just another number. I would not hesitate in recommending Highcliffe to friends and family.

Is this care home perfect? No.
Is it as close as I’ve ever found? Yes.
My dad lived at Highcliffe for a little over a year before his passing. In that time the standard of his care was consistently good. Like any care home, there is room for improvement but one thing that can be of absolutely no doubt
is how much the owner and every member of staff care and try their best for both residents and family. We managed to get dad home to Highcliffe when the time came for him to pass and within minutes the staff had done more for him than they had in a week in hospital. They also sat with him when we couldn’t be there so he was never left alone. Some staff even came in unpaid to spend time with him. As a family, we couldn’t ask for any more love and care for my dad and we will be eternally grateful.
Highcliffe is a homely home. It isn’t part of a chain and the owner who has many years of experience lives on-site and interacts with the residents. They’ll always welcome visitors.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
