When I first came to Longridge Hall I was apprehensive and wondered what it would be like. I quickly discovered that all staff members were both cheerful and most helpful. I feel all staff deserved a gold star for the care provided. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone who needs it,
I would be very happy to return when needed. The room was exceptional very high standards, very spacious and had its own en-suite with wet room shower. I also had room service until I got used to the home.

Some staff are excellent and the support from the local nurse practitioner is outstanding. The activities programme was good but seems to have all but stopped. The downstairs dementia unit needs refurbishing.

Longridge Hall have been caring for my Grandad for almost 2 years. He started out on the main floor and has recently moved to the dementia unit. The care he has received has been outstanding. Longridge Hall has be come my grandads home and the staff his extended family. He is happy here. Not only this
but the support our family have received from the team, managers and medical assistants has been great. He has always been treated with respect, fed well and had had two lovely rooms. There is no where else that we would want him to be.

The staff and management are absolutely wonderful. Their attention to detail, care of the residents and care of visitors is second to none. The care they gave to my husband's father and to us all as a family, during his final moments was humbling. They showed respect and compassion at all times and
looked after us as a family whilst we were with him. My mother is also at Longridge Hall and has been a resident for two years now. She has always been treated with kindness and respect and we couldn't be more grateful for the care she is given. We are always welcomed when we visit. The home is open for family and friends to visit whenever they need to which has brought us great comfort, especially in those final sad moments with dad. The staff communicate with us constantly about the well-being of our loved ones and let us know immediately if they have any concerns. My only issue is the lack of armchairs in the day room downstairs. There isn't enough for all to sit in there in comfort.

We have been very happy with how well Mum seems to have settled and how much she enjoys and feels safe in the home. The staff obviously know and understand Mum. Mum's room is particularly nice being filled with light from the front.

Very happy with Mum's care after reluctantly putting her in for respite. Two months on Mum is still in Longridge Hall as I am confident that the caring staff take good care of her. Longridge Hall has a very friendly homely atmosphere. The staff make Longridge Hall.

I would like to thank the whole team at Longridge Hall. Our family. Mum has been a resident here for 13 Months. Is very happy and settled. Mum has mixed dementia. Needs 24/7 support. I am an only child. Sadly lost my dad last year. Find it very emotional seeing Mum progress. But me and Mum get so much
care love and support from the team. Keep up the fabulous work everyone. We all need you. Best wishes.

My mum went into Longridge Hall in late June 2023. I must admit I was worried, having heard and seen how some care homes are run. I needn’t worry! My mum can be difficult and hard work sometimes, but the effort the staff made to make her feel welcome and safe, made a big difference. I honestly didn’t
think she would take to it, but she has. The care is very well structured and organised. They managed to get her up out of bed a lot more than I did! Two members of staff in particular genuinely care and always know what my mum has done and how much she has eaten. There are procedures to make sure residents are regularly checked and a database for each resident. To sum up it’s a good nursing home for one reason, all the staff really care. Thank you.

When the sad day comes when your loved one, in my case my 92-year-old mum with Alzheimer's disease, cannot carry on in their own home, then you have to be careful when choosing a care home to look after their individual needs. One hears horrific stories of negligence, abuse and humiliation towards old
infirm residents. You will not have such worries with choosing Longridge Hall Care Home. The manager and all her staff are simply brilliant. If you grade them out of 10 I would give them 10 and 10 bonus points!

My husband has been a resident at Longridge Hall for respite care and is now permanently due to dementia. He has been made very welcome, and he is happy and settled. The food is excellent. The home is well-staffed, and all the staff are caring. The premises are excellent, and the quality of the furniture
is also excellent. It is nice that the residents do activities and are sometimes shown on their website. Thank goodness we can now visit again.

I just want to comment on the excellent care that my friend has received during her time at Longridge Hall. I was unable to see her over the last 12 months due to COVID restrictions but finally saw her this month and she was healthy and happy and I was so relieved that she was so well looked after.
I managed to visit on a day when there was an excellent activity planned for all the residents. One of the care assistants was a singer on The Voice and did a marvellous performance for the residents in the March sunshine. I cannot recommend this home enough and thank you to all the staff for the care given to my friend over these difficult 12 months.

Finding the right home for your loved ones is a very difficult job. Longridge Hall and Care Home has everything my mum needs to help her with her care and well-being. She has been diagnosed with vascular dementia and recently her condition has deteriorated. I always told my mum that I would never put
her in a care home as we would always look after her. Unfortunately, she was having 24 hour care at home which was not sustainable and put even more pressure on my wife and me to look after her. It is my job, as her son, to look after her and do the right thing for her health and wealth. She was not safe at home on her own, so I took the decision to find a good care home for her. I discussed this with my mum and she agreed that we could no longer keep her at home. This place is fantastic. All the staff are brilliant and really do care. Nothing is too much trouble. I get regular phone calls and I can visit when convenient. I would stay there myself, it's that good. My mum is happy and safe now.

I can't rate the staff highly enough. My mother was cared for with kindness, dignity and love. Residents are treated as individuals and both their physical and mental health needs are met at all times. The home is well run, bright and clean. The food is good, with an excellent choice. There is a wide
range of activities and when it was possible residents enjoyed a variety of trips out.

I can't comment on the activities as Mum has shown no interest in doing them.
Value for money is a difficult one. I realise that all homes are under the same, but it seems an excessive amount of money, plus we have to provide all her toiletries and incontinence pads. We do, however, know she is safe
and well cared for especially in these uncertain times. I just wish there was some way that we could visit (safely) to keep her spirits up. She doesn't cope well on the phone.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.326)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.326) out of 10 for Longridge Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.526 for Longridge Hall is calculated as follows: ( (103 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 154 Ratings = 4.526
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Longridge Hall is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 12 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Pet Therapy Dog Joined: 2020

I’m Reggie the Chihuahua and I’m Longridge Hall’s pet therapy dog. I may be small, but I have a big heart! I love people, as they are so good at giving me fuss and hugs. My mum Karina (who is a carer here at Longridge) thought I would be a useful part of the team as a therapy dog.

I get to meet lots of different residents and love all the belly rubs and attention they give me. I offer companionship, unconditional love, and fun. I’m told being a therapy dog I help improve people’s mood and I have a calming effect.

Residents like to stroke me, talk to me and some even toss me a ball. I let the residents decide how they want to interact with me – I can stay on the floor or sit on a lap. Not everybody wants to pet me, which is fine, it’s a personal choice.
