Parklands is an outstanding care home. Everyone is a family to our family. I couldn't find the words to say how wonderful and brilliant everyone is. They go far and beyond, nothing is too much trouble. I could never repay everyone for what they did for my dad, who passed away on 31 October 25. My mum
Ena is also here at Parklands. The care is fantastic and my mum feels so safe and well cared for. We love them all.
Reply from Sarah Lyon, Lodge Manager at Parklands Dear Jayne, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you so much on behalf of the team and myself here at Parklands. To receive such a positive, heartfelt review will not only contribute to staff morale but also highlight the care and compassion demonstrated by the team here at Parklands. It was a true blessing to be able to support Dad during his journey as it is to continue to be there for mum ... Providing that much needed love, care and support. You are all part of our extended family and should you need anything then team and I are always here. Thank you,

Dear Dalton Court,
May I express my thanks and appreciation to your team. I was up for a long weekend in Cockermouth and saw my farther, Arthur Field, 4 times. It was great to sit and chat to him over a cup of tea. Although now confined to a wheelchair and limited speech, he was otherwise in good shape
and I would like to show my appreciation of the work your team do. Whilst in the lounge with him, it was clear to see the care, support and assistance to all residents the staff give. Their attention to detail and guidance is all delivered in a friendly and positive, upbeat many.
Please could you share my thoughts with your team; from the friendly office staff, to the nurses and carers; a big thank you!
Kind regards,
Andrew and the family.
Reply from Maria Pereira, Area Manager at Dalton Court Care HomeDear Andrew and family,

After all the downs this nursing home has faced I wanted to leave a new review for them on mine and my mums personal experiences. There have been very rocky times there's no denying it but since the new management team have taken over things are on the up. Rebecca and Sarah had a hard job on their hands
but they are handling it, there is a different feel to the place, more positive. Staff seem happier, and this is huge as the staff there are brilliant, the ones who really do care are being recognised and made to feel like they are seen. Mum is happy again, she's settled and again feels like she's home, things must be getting so much better because believe me she would be the first to say if it wasn't. The management team are very present too, the residents feel seen and heard by them which is huge. A "good morning" goes such a long way to them, and to have that relationship with the "bosses" (residents words not mine haha) means the world. Finally they care & it shows. Thank you x
Reply from Rebecca Murphy, Home Manager at Priesty Fields Care HomeHi Emma,
Thank you for leaving such a positive review, it means the world to us that residents and staff feel seen and heard. We will continue in making Priesty Fields the best place to live and work for all our residents and staff.

I don't have any concerns so far with the care my father has received since moving in. My only concern at the moment is that the heater hasn't worked in his room since he moved in in December 2023, and feel the portable heater plugged in in his room is a health and safety hazard, it's hot to touch and
he could fall over it. This has been mentioned before. Room 27.
Reply from Steve Hamblett, Operations Director at Dalton Court Care HomeThank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear you have no concerns about your father's care, and we appreciate you raising the issue with the heating in Room 27.

The radiator was checked last week, and we are awaiting the contractors' return to complete the necessary work. We are chasing this daily, and if the repairs do not resolve the issue, a replacement radiator will be arranged.

In the meantime, we understand your concerns about the temporary portable heater. Although not our preferred option, it ensures your father remains warm, and a formal risk assessment is in place to ensure its safe use.

We also offered an alternative room while the heating is resolved, and we respect your decision to decline this to avoid any stress or confusion for your father.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Please contact us at any time with any further questions or concerns.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I have been a resident at Priesty Fields for several years now and it is fair to say that the food here has been somewhat underwhelming. However, there has been, what I consider, to be a massive upturn in both the choice and quality of the food.

The meal choices are now tempting and interesting,

it's difficult to make a selection; from soup to steak, all the options are appealing.

As for the quality of the cooking, this is difficult to get right. Finding a happy medium is not an easy task, but I am more than pleased with what has been provided. Resident's feedback to the kitchen is taken on board and any adjustments made.

Both vegetarian and non- vegetarian choices are delicious and have put new life into old staples like tomatoes and chicken.

For me, mealtimes have become enjoyable again and not just a choice of the least worst option. Well done!

Reply from Rebecca Murphy, Home Manager at Priesty Fields Care HomeThank you JD for giving us some honest feedback and it is nice to see that the food quality of the food has improved recently. We will continue to make positive changes to ensure we are offering all our residents the best possible care and support.

The care staff are very friendly and really care for the residents. They treat everyone with dignity and encourage the residents to join in on all activities. My mother in law is well looked after and looks healthier than she was before she came into the home.

Longridge Hall

Mum made her own decision to look for a care home as she didn't like living alone after my Dad died and at over 90 felt that she wanted more permanent support in her daily living. She visited Longridge Hall for lunch and to spend the afternoon with some other residents, joining in with the afternoon's
activities. She was made to feel very welcome by both staff and other residents so after returning home she soon made the decision to put her name down for a room at Longridge Hall. She has been a resident for just over a year now. She has settled in well, has a nice room, and has made friends with other residents. She particularly enjoys the opportunities for trips out in the minibus. The staff look after her needs perfectly while respecting and encouraging her independence. She is still able to enjoy outings with the family which the staff also encourage. She knows she has made the right decision.

The care and attention given to my mum is excellent. The carers always make time to chat and cheer up the residents.
Since mum has arrived, it has given me peace of mind, knowing that she is well cared for. Mum has settled in well due to the staff having a natural caring manner.
Thank you for looking
after mum, all your hard work is appreciated.
