One area to consider for improvement would be greater provision of activities, residents are there seven days a week and there is nothing at weekends.

The Oaks is an amazing place. From the second my mum made contact to the day we lost dad and beyond all staff have been amazing. The whole building is beautiful. The shared areas and the private rooms are immaculate. All staff without fail are brilliant. From carers, the activity staff to management, all are brilliant and so dedicated.

My wife and I are in our 90's. My wife requires care, but I am still able to and look after myself. The rooms are large and comfortable, with individual wet rooms, so I can shower myself. The building has a large garden with a circular path, which will aid 'wanderers' to get to their starting point. I had the misfortune of having a heart attack about two weeks ago. The young carer who looked after me demonstrated that she was well-trained, could apply her training. She even packed my bag when the ambulance came to take me to hospital. I have only given a 'good' rating for food, but occasionally the standards will match excellent, difficult thing to achieve in a large institution.

Catering, laundry, maintenance, housekeeping - all have welcoming and caring personalities, both to my mother and my family - as have the management and of course the carers. There are some little niggles, but these are generally dealt with on request - but they do repeat!

My Mother seems happy enough with her care. Everyone is very helpful an conscientious with there work. And helps my mum in everyway Possible. Thank you all.

I have no qualms in recommending The Oaks Carehome.

The staff were always kind, considerate and efficient. They were respectful of her needs.

I visit The Oaks 2 or 3 times a week. I can only speak as I find. I am always made most welcome and you can have tea and biscuits every time I go to their Thursday morning get together which is excellent. I find it more like a hotel than a nursing home. I can't say how things are when I'm not there. The food smells lovely when I walk through the door. Excellent. I have no idea of cost.

What a lovely friendly environment for a particularly sad visit. The sister who held mums hand going down in the lift was so kind. Staff checked that we were ok, gave us refreshments in the bistro. Everywhere is very clean and welcoming. Thank you so much

Our long term friend and sister in Christ had spent 6 months in 3 different hospitals, she was admitted with 2 fractures and developed other health issues.. She declined due to her mental state and lack of social interaction (The NHS mandate is to heal, rehabilitation is secondary bearing in mind their workload). She has been at the Oaks less than 3 weeks; has gained weight, is willing to get out of bed, and is so much brighter. She has now accepted that the nursing care at The Oaks is what she needs, purpose has returned. Induction into the home was relatively painless (I had experience with my father entering a care, then nursing home), and the support afforded eased the work needed to manage finances. Activities, encouragement and overall care are in abundance in all disciplines in the running of the home. My review on Food & Drink has not been evaluated hence rating.

We as a family are blown away with how lovely the Oaks care home is . All the staff go above and beyond and can't do enough for you , for the family visiting and my grandad who came to the oaks in July . They are so friendly and professional. The oaks is very clean and well maintained. The activities are lovely . My grandad is so happy since coming here and it's so lovely to see .

The decision to move into Residential Care was not an easy one both for Mum herself and us as her family. However, it was the right one . The fact that Mum is happy and content means so much. Thank you

My wife's room is adequate but nit cozy. I don't see the personal care in action but my wife is happy with it. The carers take great pains to see that she eats her meals. They also chatter cheerfully to her. I think that her cognitive ability is improving largely thanks to this.

Most of the staff are friendly and appear to want to care. However not all appear to understand that my Mother can't get out of her chair, so to leave things 'out of reach' is not helpful, and neither is just leaving her laundry out. I also appreciate how difficult my Mother can be.

The home is kept clean and Mum's room is warm and spacious.

From the first days of my mother and father's residence at The Oaks they were treated with care, respect and dignity. Even during the COVID epidemic the Oaks staff carried out their care duties to the letter. My mother was a resident between January 2020 until December 2022 and my father was a resident between January 2020 until December 2024 so that's quite a period of time for them to be looked after. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone seeking high-quality services for their loved ones.

My grandmother was very much not the type of person at all to ever end up in a care home, she was reluctant all her life. Due to local reviews, The Oaks was the only one she would ever consider going to. We were very worried that she would want to come out soon because of her character, but since she has been there, she has never wanted to leave. The standard of care is excellent, and she continuously says that she cannot pick any faults with The Oaks at all. We are very grateful to all the staff there for looking after her so well.

From the day my nan came to The Oaks we all as a family were welcomed into their open arms. I visited Nan in her new home twice a week, different days and different times, every time my nan was very well cared for by all the staff. Nan was only there for just over 6 months before she passed, the exceptional care that Nan received during her end-of-life care was second to none. Some of the staff members even came into the home on their days off, that made us know as a family how much they cared for Nan and how well they looked after her on the days we weren't there. We were able to come and go as we pleased when Nan became end of life, we basically moved in for a couple of nights it was great. After trying the food it is beautiful. Not like school dinners like I first thought, it's full of flavour and always looked very appealing! But honestly thank you all on floor two I will miss you all, you've been amazing. Thank you for looking after my nanny when me and grandad couldn't anymore.

I may be biased, but my grandmother is one of the most incredible women I know. After visiting The Oaks, I can take comfort in the fact that she is treated as that. The staff are beautiful and personable. The food is great and facility is clean and welcoming.
