All the staff on Walnut Suite made Mum welcome. They are kind, thoughtful and have a great sense of humour. Mum is the happiest I have seen her in years. There is an amazing range of activities and trips that keep her mind active. Her ensuite room is very spacious, and Mum was encouraged to make it
homely. I am so grateful for everyone's care and love. Moving Mum to Walnut Suite was the best thing ever.

I live in Australia and have recently visited my Mum (for the first time since she moved to the care home) a number of times during my UK stay. It was reassuring to observe Mum in a bright, welcoming environment with caring staff. It was good to put faces to names of staff who answer the phone when
I call from Australia.

My mother in law was a resident here for about 8 months until she passed away on 1/4/25. The day she went from Oaksprings into hospital.
I always found the carers friendly, helpful and happy to explain things to you. The Activity staff always tried to get everyone involved in craft, knitting, bingo
etc I would especially like to thank one staff member in particular who really took charge when my mother-in-law was ill but I must also say how disappointed I was with the 2 managers who sadly couldn't pick up the phone to offer their condolences when my mother-in-law passed away neither made any contact with us.
Reply from Andrea Lyon, Home Manager at Oak Springs Care Home

Thank you for your review. I was with your mother-in-law up until the ambulance crew arriving, I am sorry that you feel that managers was not in contact with you. But I did speak to your husband again when he came to the home to collect your mother-in-laws personal belongings. Maybe this was something he had not communicated with you.kind RegardsAndrea Lyon

This is an excellent care home. I can't speak highly about them. My father has settled in so well, the staff are so helpful and caring. As as family we where worried when he was at home but now that he has 24/7 care he is settled and so are we.
They keep you updated if they have any health issues which
is so reassuring.
The facilities in the home are superb. Movie room, quiet lounges, other lounges. Activities.
10/10 for everything.

Thank you for the outstanding level of care you offered my Mum, who came to Parklands Lodge recently for a short term stay. My first impressions were a clean, modern, well maintained establishment and the bedrooms and communal lounges are very spacious and bright. Both Mum and I were really impressed
by the friendly, welcoming environment from the start, there is an overall positive feel about the place which helped Mum to settle in very quickly. Everyone is approachable, helpful and attentive to the needs of the residents and I felt completely reassured that my Mum was in good hands. Mum enjoyed the comfort of a large, airy bedroom overlooking beautiful gardens with her own shower room. She made friends with other residents and staff over a few rounds of dominoes and enjoyed delicious homecooked meals, they even cater for visitors and a family meal can be arranged. Mum truly had a fabulous time at Parklands Lodge and I know she was reluctant to leave. Can't thank you enough!
Reply from Sarah Lyon, Lodge Manager at Parklands

It was indeed sad to see mum leave us here at Parklands but as always please know that should you wish to keep in contact then please do not hesitate, mum did indeed make new friends and acquaintances and it would be an honour to see mum and yourself in the near future at one of our events.Heartfelt thank you from team Parklands. Since Dad transferred from respite services to Birkdale Tower Lodge, he has become relaxed, happy and his health has improved. The staff are conscientious and kind and genuinely have the residents' wellbeing at heart. There are a variety of activities to engage and entertain, but no one is pressurised
to take part. We've been delighted at how well Dad has settled in and would not consider anywhere else.
