My review is regarding the end of life care my grandad received. He sadly passed 1st April 2026 and myself and my family cannot speak highly enough of all the staff who cared for him at this time.
The staff know the family well, we can be intense as always have wanted the best for grandad, he was a
huge part of our life's. The support they have offered is amazing. The managers have had an open door policy and no question we asked was any trouble.
I wish I could give you all a million zillion pounds, we could not have got through this without you.
Not sure carers, nurses and staff literally extended family!
Reply from Porsche Grillo, Home Manager at Telford HallHi K G
Thank you so much for such a kind review - As you know grandad was part of our extended family as are yourselves! and it was a pleasure to be able to provide care to him at his time of need. Take care and see you soon. Porsche

Dad is generally very comfortable and well cared for. His only concerns would be the general cleaning of his room where he spends most of his time, his bed changing is very irregular, his BM and HBa1C for his diabetes has not always been reliably done. The staff are great, always so helpful.

My Dad has been in Telford Hall since January 2024 when we needed to find a permanent full time nursing place at 24 hours notice between Xmas and new year (when the NHS find out you're self funded they want you out of hospital without any time or help). Telford Hall were great and made the transition
seamless. The home provides a great level of nursing care in very nice en-suite rooms. Food is great - Dad has put on 2 1/2 stone! There are loads of activities to join if you want to and even a pub, cinema and hairdresser. The relief we have knowing Dad has 24/7 care is immense.

As soon as you enter Telford hall building you receive a warm welcome. I have been visiting a friend for several years, that lived there.
I've always found the care outstanding, respect & dignity at all times.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for any of the staff. They are friendly & approachable.
There
is always encouragement to join in different activities that are going on.
Sadly my friend passed away in October. His end of life care was outstanding & the staff were all very supportive to family & friends.
I still pop in occasionally to see the staff.
Forever grateful for the care that was given.

My wife and I were so lucky to have found this care home for our Aunty. Without Telford Hall she wouldn't of been back up and about and getting on with her life. The staff have been fantastic at providing great care and understanding. She was taken into their care in June and is still making friends
and loves the interaction with the staff.

My father was a happy resident at Telford Hall for several years. He was cared for with respect, affection and genuine attention to his needs by lovely people throughout the team.
Many of the team developed a close bond with dad, and he with them.
The team's devotion to dad at the end of his life was
humbling, providing a safe, warm, and loving environment for him in his final days.
I couldn't have asked for greater support for dad, me and the family. Thank you.

My mum has Alzheimer's and has been living at Telford Hall for the last 4 years. It was hard to begin with to have the discussion with her after being 'independent' but from the day she visited, mum has always shared how much she loves Telford Hall, how the staff she views as her friends and how amazingly
she is looked after. Above all mum feels safe and secure which means we have no worries for her. Every one of the staff , regardless of their role or how busy they are, are always happy to chat and laugh with mum and us as family. Mum is respected and clearly thought a great deal of which is fabulous to know!
Thank you for your care and thoughtful ways - you are all worth more than your weight in gold!!

I honestly cannot put into words how grateful our family is for the care my Nan receives here. From the moment she arrived, the staff have shown nothing but kindness, patience, and genuine compassion. My Nan has dementia, and the way they take the time to reassure her, calm her mind, and make her feel
safe and at ease means more to us than they will ever know.
What truly stands out is how personal their care is. They don't just look after her needs - they look after her. Simple but meaningful things, like sitting with her, chatting, doing her makeup, and making sure she feels comfortable and at home, make such a huge difference to her confidence and happiness. You can see that they really care, and that level of thoughtfulness is incredibly special.
Knowing that my Nan is treated with dignity, respect, and so much warmth gives our family real peace of mind. The staff are amazing, and this care home is a truly wonderful place. We feel so lucky to have found a home treats nan like family

Much thought is put into the activities which are offered to the residents

Our mother loves the home, treated with dignity and respect. All staff are amazing and really go the extra mile to look after Mum's needs. Always great entertainment is laid on, and she loved the wed hair salon day, amazing. The only huge negative complaint is that we have had to drain Mum's savings
and sell her family home to pay for her care. Yet other people with no assets in the home are receiving the same care council funded. It's morally wrong.

I have been very impressed whenever I have visited and found staff to be welcoming and friendly. I notice that all residents are well groomed, have their hair washed and cut regularly. They all have good food and I've overheard many conversations between staff and residents, all being very kind, thoughtful
and caring. Residents all seem to be happy and entertained. All areas are clean and tidy. I have visited after hours and still been able to access when the button is pressed and not been kept waiting. The staff all seem very responsive and very kind.

I visited today for my Father's Birthday and it was also my first trip to Telford Hall. I was impressed as soon as I left my car and admired the building and gardens. Inside was immaculate throughout, staff was friendly and very helpful at reception. I was amazed to find my Dad smiling, singing, and
enjoying physical chair exercises with his friends and the carers. What an impressive and enjoyable 1st visit. Thank you everyone for all your hard work.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.664)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.664) out of 10 for Telford Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.764 for Telford Hall is calculated as follows: ( (152 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 191 Ratings = 4.764
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Telford Hall is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

What I love most about this role is having the opportunity to truly care for people. I enjoy getting to know our residents, understanding their stories, and being able to make a real, positive difference in their lives every single day.

I’ve worked in care since I was 19, starting out as a support planner, where I created care plans for people who needed help. From there, I became a social care officer, assessing individuals’ care needs and putting the right support in place. I also worked as a trusted assessor for care homes before moving into management roles as a deputy and then a residential manager.

What drives me is the chance to improve people’s lives—to bring purpose, dignity and joy into their everyday. That’s what makes me passionate about working in care.
