Great improvement under new management and more expected.

The manager is always prepared to listen to views and in most cases, now procedures are expected to be carried out.

Thank you for your ongoing support under the new management. Some things can be achieved quickly and others can take some time to address. However, the continued open-door policy will continue to promote communication until all issues are addressed. Having families as my eyes and ears is a...

Stable staff team. Professional service delivered with warmth and individual care. The manager is available and resident-focused. The home is modern, light and airy. The room can be made homely with personal items. There is now a good range of activities including physical exercise.

My father has been a resident since October 2021. Since new management has taken over I cannot fault the level of care that my father receives. I feel all my father's needs are met and his voice is heard and respected.
As his daughter I think the communication is now excellent, if I have any concerns or questions I am listened to and all staff will take appropriate action and resolve my questions.
I also feel my opinions are taken into account and I feel there is transparency within the communication.
I also now feel staff morale is good and this is reflected in a happy and positive ethos within the home.

The activities programme is varied and full with no pressure on residents to participate.

Reply from Fiona Brewin, Registered Manager at Telford Hall

Thank you for the lovely feedback, Julie. It is important to me to support Dad's health and well-being, but yours too. Communication is key and I would like to assure you that any compliments and concerns raised will be addressed with the importance that it deserves. We look forward to many years...

Moms been at The Farmstead now for 2 years. We’ve had ups and downs throughout this time but I have to say I have seen lots of improvements which all are beneficial to residents. Mom has really settled at Farmstead after a very difficult decision for her to go into long term care. Staff are very friendly and attentive to her needs and family are always made to feel welcome.

Reply from Fiona Brewin, Registered Manager at Telford Hall

The new manager and her team have made huge and very welcome changes within the home. The manager's zest for life is infectious and she manages the home with an open-door policy. She recognises that errors were previously made and has been honest and acted with integrity in addressing the same. As a family, we are happy with the level of care that Mum receives. Under the new manager, an activities programme has been instigated and is run by a staff member who tries very hard to involve all residents in the activities.
The staff threw a 60th wedding anniversary party at The Farmstead for my parents recently. They organised everything. All we needed to do was invite guests! They went above and beyond their duties and created a day we will never forget. Thank you.

This home has had its problems. The manager has addressed every issue with due diligence and complete professionalism. Yes, there were problems, but no home is perfect. The Farmstead is safe and we are happy Mum is there.

Reply from Fiona Brewin, Registered Manager at Telford Hall

I was admitted to The Farmstead for respite around February to March time and was most impressed with the excellent service, the staff and the quality of food. A very restful time, job well done. A first-class job. I would be pleased to recommend this rest home to anyone in the same situation.

Reply from Kelly Richardson, Home Manager at Telford Hall

Thank you so much for this feedback. I am glad that you had a pleasant experience with us and that you would recommend the home. That is the best we can ask for and the best thanks the carers can get. It's great to know the food was good too as the kitchen staff are amazing at what they do.

My mother was only here for a short time as she was very poorly. The manager and staff were extremely caring. They made her last few days comfortable and were very attentive to her needs. Facilities and rooms are first class, as was the food. I have visited quite a few homes in the area, and this is by far the best.

Reply from Kelly Richardson, Home Manager at Telford Hall

Hi Pauline, our staff work really hard and it is a great comfort to them to know that it is making such positive differences to the people we support and their families so thank you for sharing this. Our residents and their families are what makes this a home, so knowing they are comfortable and cared for is all we can ask.

I am so very grateful to the management and staff at the Farmstead Nursing home in Lawley, Telford for looking after my husband. He became a resident there before lockdown. Both he, and I as a visitor, were made very welcome by everyone.

Then during lockdown the staff became his family. He and I could only talk on WhatsApp. I was lucky enough to see my husband after lockdown was lifted, but not for very long until his passing.

It became very apparent after lockdown how much my husband and the staff had bonded.

During my husband’s last days the management and staff were amazing. It was a really difficult time. They were so helpful, supportive, professional, caring to my husband, to me, and to other members of my family.

Whilst I was at the home I could see how well the staff cared for other residents.

I would strongly recommend the Farmstead Nursing Home to anyone who is in that difficult position of choosing a care home for their loved one.

We had a bit of a shaky start, to begin with, as we all settled in. I think this was due to the lack of leadership from the previous manager. The staff seemed in low spirits and seemed disheartened. But the management that are running the home now - we could not have faulted them. I have to say the care and attention we all received as a family was excellent. Whilst our mom was at the end of her life, they allowed us all to say goodbye in a dignified, respectful way. And the care they gave to us all, was great. Thank you all.

My nana had been taken into the farmstead a couple of months ago and I visited on days off and on the weekends. The staff were welcoming and friendly. In the last few days when nana was very very poorly, nothing was too much to ask for. They ensured that she was comfortable, pain-free and as we stayed with her, we were offered food, drinks and support. They went above and beyond and when nana passed, they all came in to say goodbye and offered their condolences. We have even been offered coffee and cake if we want a chat at any point. So glad to have such lovely memories for the last memories with my nana. The manager and two members of staff, in particular, deserve special recognition and so much thanks for everything they have done. Thank you again for all that you have done guys.

Staff are so caring and looked after my mom so well. From the start, Mom was hard work for staff because of her attitude but they were patient and won her over and it was pure pleasure from thereon. Mom was there approx 3 months and she was so well looked after. And when my mom passed, she was respected in death the same as in life. The manager made it also easy to handle too which we as a family are so grateful for. Thank you to all the staff, god bless you.

Hi Gary, thank you for this. Your mum was so wonderful and so were you, as a family. It was always a pleasure when you visited. We could see how loved and well cared for your mum was, from you all. I'm glad we could provide her with the dignity she deserved.

My mother-in-law has settled well into a bright, airy home with amazing care. The staff provide through personal care and enjoys. She drinks and eats well; helping her as necessary. It is a testament to the tasty meals that she is eating well and enjoys her meals. There is a very active activities coordinator, and so far, my mother-in-law has gone to the inhouse cinema, completed artwork, participated in quizzes and gardened. She has also been given a lovely memory book of family photos made by the said coordinator.

Porsche GrilloJob Title:Registered ManagerJoined: 2025

What I love most about this role is having the opportunity to truly care for people. I enjoy getting to know our residents, understanding their stories, and being able to make a real, positive difference in their lives every single day.

I’ve worked in care since I was 19, starting out as a support planner, where I created care plans for people who needed help. From there, I became a social care officer, assessing individuals’ care needs and putting the right support in place. I also worked as a trusted assessor for care homes before moving into management roles as a deputy and then a residential manager.

What drives me is the chance to improve people’s lives—to bring purpose, dignity and joy into their everyday. That’s what makes me passionate about working in care.
