Over all time Park Grove Residential Home has 26 reviews.
My mum who has Alzheimer's went into respite for the first time and obviously we were a little nervous about how she would be.
It turns out we had little to worry about, our mum was too busy with all the activities that Park Grove put on to become upset.
One day they were taken out for coffee, another day a walk along the canal, an ice-cream van was there another day and when I phoned my to check she was ok, she was in the garden chatting with the other residents.
There is lots of stimulation and activities at Park Grove and it offers my mum something we can't always give her.
We feel really lucky to have found Park Grove, the carers really do care and right from the start they put my mum and all the family at ease and we knew she'd be in safe hands.
My mum goes for respite once every 6 weeks and enjoys herself as she thinks she's on holiday and my dad gets a well deserved break.
It really is a win, win.
Thanks you Park Grove for all you do!
What a lovely review thank you. We enjoy having your mum with us she really has settled in well and gets stuck in with all the activities she even washed the dishes one day. We are glad you as a family feel reassured when she is in our care. I will pass this on to the staff so thank you again for your kind words. Carrie & Team
My mum has now been a resident for a month.and been shown only the best care and attention. She can't walk far and going blind.and all the girls look after her like there own.Carrie the manager. has been brilliant from the get go. A very digified lady who has the residents at heart.
What a lovey review thank you for your kind words it means a lot to us. We enjoy having your mum here and she is part of the Park Grove Family.
My father has currently been in respite care within park grove for several weeks at a time due to my mother having terminal cancer. My dad never wanted to go into a care home but everyone at park grove has made the initial day he first went in to present day so welcoming which put him and out family at total ease. The staff are amazing with him as he's a bit stubborn. The home is lovely and very clean. The care is above and beyond high standards and the support as a family we receive is priceless. Park grove has become a family to us and nothing is ever an issue , they are so caring and compassionate. We as a family feel truly blessed that our loved one has such fantastic care and we are very grateful to all the amazing staff. The home is well organised and delivers exceptional care
Thank you for such a kind and lovely review. I am pleased we have been able to give the care you should expect as well as the reassurance to you as a family during your difficult time. We agree he can be stubborn but we work our charm on him.
My dad has been into this care home a few times and everyone has been extremely welcoming, supportive and friendly always offering a brew or even juice if you don't drink tea or coffee. It is an amazing care home and I'm so glad we chose it the care my dad has received has been amazing never short of a brew
Thank you for your kind words it is our pleasure to have your dad in our care and I am pleased you always get offered a drink when you visit the little things are the important things to make everyone feel welcome.
My mother began residing in the home early February. The staff were immediately warm friendly and caring towards mum and our family. Her room is warm and cosy with a big tv. Mum is a bit stubborn at times but settled in very soon even though she was not willing to go. She is always dressed very smartly( all clothes matching) and all her needs are met swiftly by the pleasant staff and they even always ask visitors if they want a brew too! We as a family are very releived in our choice of Park Grove and have no doubt mum will be properly looked after for the rest of her days.
Thank you for kind words it means a lot to hear your reassured Mum is well cared for, yes I agree she is stubborn at times but it just adds to her lovely character.
My Uncle has been in the care of Carrie and her wonderful team for over a year. He has quite a lot of needs as he has lost the use of his legs and has memory issues. All the staff are absolutely fantastic and as a family we are so grateful to them. Making the decision where to placed a love one is such a hard decision to make but as a family we could not be happier. Originally my uncle had been placed somewhere else by the care system for assessment and without going into too many details his mental and physical state deteriorated. The best decision we made was to get him moved asap so that Carrie and her team could look after him. We saw a complete change in him in under a week and his smile returned and so did his dignity. If you are looking for somewhere to place an elderly relative than you will not regret placing them in this facility under Carrie and her team.

My dad has difficult and complex needs which has been a worry for us trying to place him into a residential care home. When we explained this to Carrie she put our minds at rest and knew exactly how to accommodate him. They have all made my dad feel calm and cared for. We can't thank them enough.
The home is bright and clean and there always seems to be something going on for everyone.
Highly recommended !
I am glad we were able to help you all during such a difficult time. It is lovely to see how settled he is now and it is a pleasure to have him here with us as part of our Park Grove Family.
The care and attention given to my dad gives me such peace of mind at such a difficult time knowing he is being looked after, which is something that has been a big change in my dads life, as for the family.
It is our pleasure to have your dad as part of the Park grove Family. He keeps us on our toes but in a good way.
My Husband came for respite in March and then stayed for a permanent placement. All the team are caring and supportive making a difficult time less stressful. Family and visitors are welcomed always a coffee offered and I often stay for lunch. Someone is available to give advice if required and any problems they contact family promptly. Staff have taken time to get to know my husband and family . Thanks for looking after us all so well.
It has been a pleasure getting to know you all and we are glad he remains happy here and you all feel welcome when you visit as this is very important for us.
Our mum moved into Park Grove in February 2024. We cannot fault the owner and her team they have all been wonderful with Mum and us as a family. Nothing is too much trouble and they have all made time and effort to engage with Mum and get to know her. Settling in has been a little difficult for Mum after we lost our dad last year. They had been inseparable for over 60 years so living in a new home has been very strange for her but she is growing to love it. There have been so many activities already for her to take part in and she has enjoyed having her hair and nails done. We are always made very welcome when we visit and they have made what could have been a traumatic time so much easier to cope with.
Thank you for your kind words. It has been our pleasure to make this difficult time as easy as possible and we feel Mum has settled in well and is now part of our family.
I cannot recommend Park Grove enough! The care and love they provide to my grandad is outstanding and puts our whole family's mind at ease, knowing he is so well looked after. All the staff are absolutely amazing and always go above and beyond. I’m so grateful for everything they do for him and so happy we chose Park Grove as his new home. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind words; it really does mean a lot to the staff. It is our pleasure to have him as part of our Park Grove Family. We would like to thank you as a family for your continued support.
We are so pleased to have discovered Park Grove and that our dad has been welcomed so warmly into the Park Grove family. We had looked at several care facilities in the area, and Park Grove is the unique stand-out. The manager and her whole team are incredible. Nothing is too much trouble, and they act promptly. They are so caring and kind to all the residents and always very cheery and welcoming to everybody who visits. A team member is always there to greet us, and we are always offered refreshments. Dad was very apprehensive about moving to residential care. He loves company and likes to sing. We all knew as soon as we went to visit Park Grove that this was the place for him. There is a true family atmosphere, and the care he is receiving is excellent. The food is very good and freshly cooked. The activities coordinator and all the staff ensure that there is plenty for the residents to do and become involved in. We highly recommend Park Grove.
We are glad you have been able to go back home to Australia, knowing Dad is well cared for.
We have found it to be an extremely welcoming and happy place with a very lovely staff. It has a good atmosphere. We are always offered a drink when we visit.
Dad has dementia but always seems happy, and he responds well to the staff.
I would recommend Park Grove to anyone looking for good quality care for a family member.
Thank you for your lovely review and kind words. It really is our pleasure to care for your dad, and he is part of our Park Grove family.
I have just collected my mother from Park Grove after her week's respite 'holiday'. It was the first time that she had been for respite and we were a little apprehensive but both myself and my mother were very soon put at ease by the staff. She has had a lovely time, the staff have all been so attentive and she has received such excellent care. I have no reservations about recommending Park Grove and Mum wants to go back for another 'holiday'.
Thank you for your kind words, I will share this with the team. We look forward to your mum returning for another holiday with us.
Can not fault the staff at Park Grove. They have been amazing. My mum has Alzheimer's/dementia. She has been attending daycare, and the staff have been so supportive. The manager has gone above and beyond to help and support us. My family will be forever grateful.
Hi Mel it has been our pleasure to look after your mum and be able to support you as a family.
Recently my wife fell and broke her hip in her room. The staff were incredible in dealing with her, getting an ambulance and looking after her in A&E until she was handed over. She has had a hip replacement and is now recovering at Park Grove and I just want to thank the staff for the care and help she is receiving. The fall and operation have worsened her dementia, so she is struggling to recall what happened and is very confused.
The staff are so patient and kind and are always smiling and cheerful with a great sense of humour that helps me, my wife and my family deal with such a difficult situation.
This is a truly wonderful place with very special people running it.
It is our pleasure to care for your wife and support you and your family, we see you as part of our Park Grove Family.
My nan has been in Park Grove since October 2022, I cannot fault this home one single bit. The staff look after her so well and go over and above to meet all of her needs and wants. My nan gets on well with all the staff and has her own jokes with them all. She is always smiling around them and I couldn’t ask for anything more. As well as the amazing work they do for my nan, the staff are witty-humoured, chatty and kind to us (the family) as well. This makes visiting my nan very enjoyable.
Thank you for your kind words we really appreciate it. We really enjoy the banter we have with your nan and your family.
We met the staff and had a look around, it has the most comfortable atmosphere and I felt at home instantly. The first impressions were it was lovely and clean and smelled fresh and then they were cooking lunch and that smelled good too. All the staff were happy. So we chose a room and booked her in to stay.
Two weeks later we picked Mum up and put her in the car and headed to Park Grove telling Mum she was going on holiday, she had dementia and Alzheimer's so it wasn't an easy trip. She was met at the door by the staff and she went in, had a cup of tea and never looked back. She was given a room and it was lovely, Mum slept for three days, so obviously she was comfortable. She never once asked to go home. Within the 12 months, she was very ill and they built her up when she first arrived and again after a few months and a trip to the hospital, returning very poorly. They worked hard to get her up again, she had multiple struvite-infected kidney stones and on her third hospital trip returned home to be made comfortable. She was made very comfortable and put in a huge room with two chairs for visitors when confined to her room and a TV playing music all the time. Staff and other residents came to see her often. One staff member gave Mum what she's always wanted 'lovely nails'. She spent a lot of time on them the day before Mum passed away. One worry was she would pass away on her own in her room. Not at Park Grove. Her main carers had a hand each, I was there along with all the staff working at the time, there was a room full of people who cared. The staff were wonderful. I will always be grateful for being pointed in that direction. A big thanks to all staff.
Thank you for the lovely review. We had a wonderful relationship with your mother and of course you and your husband. It has been our pleasure to ensure she was kept safe and comfortable and to feel at home. We are glad it was a happy twelve months for you both.
From the moment I made the initial enquiry phone call to the care home manager, and my husband and I having a meeting with her where she put my mind at rest explaining how Mum would be cared for, everything has been excellent.
Park Grove is a lovely, clean, friendly care home with wonderful caring staff and management. You are always greeted with a friendly smile. I would highly recommend Park Grove.
Thank you for your kind words. It has been our pleasure to support you and your mum through this difficult time. It is wonderful how quickly she has settled here and you seem much more relaxed and happy.
My father-in-law was taken here for respite care after a stay in hospital. He liked it so much that he decided he wanted to live there full-time (we were already in the process of looking for a care home with him). The staff and management are absolutely brilliant with him, even on his more 'difficult' days, and we are so grateful to all of them for giving us peace of mind, knowing he is safe. The meals that are prepared are healthy and there is always a choice. Activities are fun and families are always welcome to go and join in with their loved ones. The whole place feels like an extended family, even the families of the other residents. All in all, I would highly recommend Park Grove to anyone who is looking for somewhere safe, kind and family orientated for their loved ones.
