Brilliant care home.
Staff superb with residents and family.

Mum went into Penwortham Lodge in August 2021. Right from the start she was made to feel comfortable and happy. The range of entertainment is extremely good and, despite some recent staffing issues, Mum was happy and well cared for.
Unfortunately at the age of 104, Mum passed away yesterday and the
reaction from the staff was amazing.
I am so grateful that I was able to place Mum in this home and would highly recommend it.
Thank you for looking after the daft old bat.

The staff have been incredible with helping my mum and making her feel at home. The home manager has made a great effort with assisting my mum to wash and care for herself. Something that she has been incapable of doing herself. The family are happy and content knowing that Mum is safe and being well
looked after. A massive thank you to the home manager and the team.

Grandma enjoys all the activities available at the home. She used to take part in many pre-COVID. Gran enjoys the choice of food available at the home. I am very happy with the care that Grandma receives at the home. We are glad that she is safe.

What a great care home, since the new managers have taken over early this year. I cannot fault anything, the staff are excellent, caring and I am delighted with all the daily activties that have been put on for the residents.
My father in law is so well cared for, and the home is spotless, cleaning
is so thorough. Well done to all the lovely staff who work here you do an amazing job.

The staff and management here at the Grange really are second to none. Nothing is too much trouble, and they are all lovely to my mum, which makes me very happy. The staff are always smiling, and that is a sure sign that they are happy in their work.

The first impression from entering the site is one of a well-maintained building, once inside the decor is modern and fresh looking without any odours present. I visit three to four times a week and the standards never drop. The same with the care staff, they are all true professionals, patient, caring
and always doing their best for the residents. The food looks delicious and the entertainment I've seen appears to be well thought through and varied. To sum up, if I'm fortunate to reach the same age as the residents, I would be delighted to end up in a care facility as excellent as this!

We have always been happy with the care given to my mum at Penwortham Grange. Since the new management has taken over, staffing consistency has improved meaning my mum has felt more settled with the same familiar faces. The activity staff do a fantastic job with the residents enjoying a variety of activities,
along with external outings. Communication from the staff is great and nothing is too much trouble. Mum always compliments the food and feels happy and safe with the staff.

I am in awe at the staff at Penwortham they all appear to go above and beyond with everyone. My mother has been at the home many years and has dementia however always appears happy and well-presented. Keep up the good work!

Friendly atmosphere, Mum has settled in, seeing her regularly doesn't give me any concerns since the appointment of a new manager. The staff change has been noticed and one member of staff in particular has and always goes the extra mile with families and residents. She always puts my mind at ease,

I feel as if things have greatly improved with the new manager. More outside activities have been planned. Residents seem more engaged and I feel as if I am being listened to regarding my mum's care. She's happy here and appreciates the efforts of the lovely carers and staff.

Mum has been a resident now for 3 years. There has been a huge improvement in the management of the home following the recent appointment of a new manager and unit manager, nothing is too much trouble to ensure that Mum's needs are met. I am always made welcome and communications/updates have been excellent.
The rooms are bright and airy, well maintained with ensuites. The cleaning and laundry staff are all so cheery and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Penwotham Grange. We are very appreciative of the safe and caring environment Penwortham Grange offers.

Mum is very happy and content at Penwortham Grange. The staff are very caring, and pleasant and always do their best to help look after the residents. Staff are very supportive to family members especially the unit manager on the first floor.

Since arriving at the care home I have experienced pure professionalism from all staff. Always ready to help in any way they can. Their friendliness is purely outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble. The meals are outstanding and the service too. I could happily stay here longer. My family have noticed

Hi! My name is Selina Mountford and I'm the Home Manager at Penwortham Grange and Lodge Care Home. I live locally in Penwortham, so was overjoyed to join the team in 2024.


I have worked in social care for 19 years; starting as a care assistant and then completing my nurse training. Since qualifying as a Registered Nurse I've worked in the private healthcare sector and became a Registered Manager in 2019.


I like to see myself as hands-on, approachable and transparent. I have an open-door policy and believe a valued and appreciated team give the best care.
