Since arriving at the care home I have experienced pure professionalism from all staff. Always ready to help in any way they can. Their friendliness is purely outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble. The meals are outstanding and the service too. I could happily stay here longer. My family have noticed how happy I am here.

My mum is very happy at Penwortham Grange. She states that all the staff are very kind to her. All the staff are very approachable, caring and kind. There have been very noticeable changes this last month very much for the better since the new management. Overall we know Mum is cared for in a happy, safe environment and staffing problems are improving.

My father is well-cared and looked after in Penwortham Grange, I am so happy I found this lovely place. The staff are excellent and look after the residents with respect and dignity. The home is kept so clean, there are no odours ever, like so many I visited. I highly recommend this place. The house manager is brilliant.

All the staff are really warm and welcoming upon arrival. The support and help they give to the residents is second to none and are all friendly, kind, respectful and considerate. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is of good quality and varied. The home and rooms are clean, bright and airy with a well-maintained ensuite. The activities girls are really good with a very wide range of activities for the residents and always make sure the residents join in as much as possible. All in all a really great care home.

Absolutely devastated that we ever put Dad into this facility. He regularly escaped and on many occasions, they didn't even realise he'd gone. He was left alone in his room constantly with no stimulation or company.

Thank God, he had a fall and was moved into a different facility. Please, Penwortham Grange, recruit some proper carers, who care, can communicate properly and interact with the residents. Dad is so much happier now. Sorry to pan the home so much but it really was shocking how little genuine care my Dad received. Please try to do better.

There is only amazing things to say about this home. From day one and ongoing to now, the care, the help, the support and when there is a bad day, the staff rally round and support and help in any way they can. They're all friendly, kind, respectful and considerate. There are a few who myself and partner's daughter have grown close to, we know and trust them unconditionally. Knowing we have that trust in those people is priceless and rewarding, the meals are wonderful and vary daily, the rooms are both lovely and very clean, all personal care and support is of a very high standard, the day staff are awesome I would very highly recommend this wonderful home, if they can get it so right, how come so many others get it wrong? Well done Penwortham Grange & Lodge, carry on with the good work.

Mum's lived at The Grange for 7 months, I visited upwards of 12 care homes prior to deciding that The Grange looked a good fit for Mum – we are not disappointed.
What I believe is important is how Mum feels about living there and her well-being, Mum loves it and is happy and relaxed she feels safe, secure and couldn’t wish for more.
I see/speak to her on her phone daily, I can tell by her voice, that she is thoroughly enjoying this new chapter of her life.
I am always made welcome and not in the way, they manage my over protectiveness of Mum well, I’m just another member of the large extended family that is Penwortham Grange and Lodge.
What makes this a standout place? I think it’s the culture/shared values which creates a lovely, relaxed, friendly informal atmosphere.

Mum is well cared for, but the real skill is when the carers don’t make it obvious that what they’re doing which is not easy to achieve, but in doing so it allows Mum to maintain a sense of control, self-esteem and dignity

We recently had to make the very hard decision to place my mum-in-law into full-time care due to her increasing needs caused by her dementia. After visiting many care homes in the region we came across Penwortham Grange & Lodge. From the off set we had a good feeling. When we couldn't get Mum-in-law out of the car to come and have a look around a member of staff came out to her and offered her tea and cake and the next thing she was through the door. From that first encounter, we knew this was going to be where we wanted her to be. It is the hardest decision we have had to make but the transition and support from all the staff have been amazing, nothing is too much trouble. Mum has been there almost two weeks now and the difference in her is amazing seeing her so happy. The lodge is very bright and airy, all the rooms are lovely and well maintained with ensuites to them all. Thank you to all the staff for making my mum-in-law so settled and welcome and also for the support you have given us.

My mother has lived at Penwortham for 5 years. The love and care she is constantly shown by the carers are heartwarming. At 94 she is happy (the odd grumble) well-fed, warm and comfortable, in bright airy surroundings. The staff at Penwortham have maintained so much warmth through this difficult year, making sure every visit is the best it can be. I would highly recommend Penwortham Grange to anyone looking for a kind, caring place for a loved one to live.

My grandma has lived at this care home for many years and I have to say as a family we have always felt that she is in safe hands. The staff are kind, attentive and respectful, not only to my gran but also to us as a family. The way this home has managed through such difficult times has been a credit to each and every one of its staff, from the manager who has kept us informed every step of the way, to the cook, housekeepers, activities and carers who have just been truly wonderful. We thank you for putting our grandma before your own, in what must have been terrifying times for all. For anyone looking to place their loved one in a care home, you cannot go wrong with this one. This is a team that cares.

My dad has lived at this home for 8 years and my mum 4 and the staff have now become part of our family. Both parents are well cared for and treated as individuals and with respect. We, as their family, are kept well informed of how they are doing and what's happening in the home in general. This has been especially important over the last 12 months. The home and grounds are clean and well maintained but it is the staff who really shine. Each takes the time to get to know each resident and is brilliant at their role, from the manager, to cook, cleaner to carer. I cannot praise them enough.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the whole team at Penwortham Grange, management and staff equally. The care that my mum was given even through difficult times, such as Covid-19, was exceptional. The carers involved were over and above in the love, kindness, patience and friendliness they showed my mum whilst always maintaining her dignity. I can't thank them enough; they all seem so dedicated. Thank you.

Dad has been living in the dementia unit for several months now. He settled in quickly due to the support of the lovely staff here.
Although unable to voice his own opinions, it is obvious to us that he's very happy here.
The staff are always cheerful, helpful and professional despite the obvious daily challenges of caring for residents with extensive needs.
All the staff deserve a medal...we certainly couldn't have managed without them.

I would highly recommend this care home.

The home generally is very clean, well maintained and a big effort is made with the appearance and information. The staff are extremely kind and caring. I can honestly say, over the three and a half years my mother has been a resident, I have seen only the best of care, not only with my mum but the other residents. But what is that back garden construction about? Mistake.

Mum is slowly deteriorating on GP PAL Register. Between GP, home and myself, mum is getting sorted equipment-wise to give her dignity and quality of life when it's most important. I cannot ask for more support when I need it. Being an only child, the carers, management, relatives and residents are my extended family. Mum is looked after well. Nothing is ever perfect but any problems I have, when mentioned, they are rectified.

An adequate care home but nothing outstanding. On a plus side, much-improved activity schedule since new activity staff. Like most care homes, staff often seem overworked and makes asking for help a problem sometimes. Often some gaps (up to 5 days) without the room being cleaned and laundry issues occasionally. Staff have always responded promptly and adequately though when needed to resolve problems and emergencies.

Overall, an effective, caring and well run home. The home its staff and management know what needs to be done but sometimes is slow to actually deliver.
To my knowledge, the care staff treat all the residents with great care and dignity. The home needs to improve activities, especially on the lodge.
Can only voice these minor gripes because, in honesty, this is a fabulous home for my mother-in-law.

The care staff that look after her are, without exception, a delight.
