  • Care Homes Owned by Orchard Care Homes
Since 1984, Orchard Care Homes have provided award-winning purpose-built care accommodation, allowing older people to enjoy the very best. Those who felt isolated in their own home gain companionship; those who were struggling to cope alone receive 24-hour help and support; and others who may have felt like they were a burden can find themselves much more independent.

The group look to go beyond the ‘National Standards for Care Homes for Older People’ caring about every detail of residents’ lives including health, diet, exercise, hobbies and social activities. Their aim is to ensure that all residents continue enjoying life, receiving the very highest standard of care. The company has recently achieved the prestigious Investors in People Award in recognition of excellent staff training.

Orchard can help you choose a care home for yourself or a relative, and they also provide important information for those looking to work in care. They are delighted to accept both local authority and private funded residents.

If you are looking for a care home in Northern England why not visit one of their care homes yourself and see what they offer? Please call them to arrange a time that’s convenient for you.

The floor staff/supporting staff all appear to work considerably hard and show a lot of kindness to the residents. Special thanks to cleaning staff who ensure that the premesis are clean and tidy particularly the lounges and individual living rooms (bedroom). Activities are well ran and well participated
which is helpful to the residents. The management staff are pleasant and helpful during visits. Overall the care home ensures my mother is well looked after and treated with care and dignity; I am satisfied that her interests are catered for.

My experience has been a very positive one due to the excellent carers and their standard of care, helpfullness and friendliness.
The food has been very tasty and there has been a variety on the menu. I appreciated the daily visit from the chefs to ask me what I would choose from the menu and their
willingness to make minor amendments to suit my needs.
I did not take part in many of the activites but there were a good variety to choose from.

Mum moved into Windsor Suite at Green Park in April 2025 and sadly passed away in December. Mum's dementia was advanced and she needed 24-hour care and she received exemplary care whilst at Green Park. Mum was treated with respect and dignity and I can't praise the staff highly enough. She was always
clean and dressed, with all her personal needs/cares met. The Home has access to a hairdresser (payable) so every week Mum had a pamper session which always made her feel good. There is also an excellent entertainment team who arrange some lovely sessions with the residents. The cleaning team are brilliant. The rooms are spotless. Mum was on a puréed diet so her food was not always the most appetising to look at but it was varied.Overall, I can't fault the care mum received and how supportive the team are. Caring for dementia patients takes a special team, and Green Park has that team. It truly is the perfect place for a loved one on a dementia journey.

My Nanna was cared for here from April - December 2025 in the Windsor Ward. This is for dementia patients with significant care needs. I cannot fault the care my nanna received and even though she wasn't too aware of her surroundings, she was always happy and comfortable with where she was and had a
lot of trust in the care team. With my nanna having dementia it could be difficult to know how she was feeling with new people but we always knew she loved the team that cared for her and that speaks volumes about how fantastic the staff really are. As a family we had a lot of confidence in the entire team and knew that my nanna was always being looked after with the most love and care. Sadly we lost my nanna in December 2025 but even in her final days the team went above and beyond for her. If you ever need to consider a care home for a loved one, be assured that the staff at Green Park are absolutely faultless and will treat your family member as one of their own. Thanks again xx

Staff seem very friendly, clean home, well fed. Although I don't feel the residents go out into the fresh air enough, particularly in summer. Also not enough singers come into the home.
Reply from Zenka shires, Home manager at Chatsworth Lodge Care HomeThank you for your review. We are pleased you find the home clean, friendly and our people well fed. We hold a monthly Resident and Relative meeting which we would love you to attend to discuss your ideas for activities.

Visited my friend and neighbour of many years, so some of my observations come from her, e.g. Food and drink, but the staff were very welcoming and kind. Everywhere looked clean and there was a lovely atmosphere. This home scores very high in my opinion.
Reply from Julie Moore, Home Manager at Paddock Stile Manor Dementia Care HomeIt is lovely to see such positive comments, thank you for leaving a review. I will pass on your comments to our team. Julie

Castleford Lodge Nursing Home

After having numerous bad experiences with the care my Mum has received since going into care we were worried this would be another uncaring care home.
We have had our faith restored since my Mum went into Castleford Lodge last April. She is cared for correctly, fed at meal times and interacted with.
My mum's falls have been reduced massively and our family can now rest knowing we don't have to visit if we don't want to.
The meals are varied and appealing with plenty of choices for all diets.
The staff are friendly,,approachable and honest which is so important to us as a family,
We wish we had moved my Mum here right from the start.
Reply from Sarah Golden-Hill, Home Manager at Castleford Lodge Nursing HomeCan i just start by thanking you for taking the time to complete the review for Castleford lodge. I have to thank you for your kind words in relation to the way that your mum has settled into Castleford. Our approach is to ensure that the transition from one setting to another is smooth and that this does not have a negative impact on the individual. I am pleased to hear that Castleford Lodge and the whole team has restored your faith around care that is delivered in the care setting. It is also nice to hear that mums falls have reduced since moving to Castleford and that you feel that our menu is varied and appealing with a good choice for all types of diets.
I will also pass over to the whole team that you find the staff friendly approachable and it is good to here that they are open and honest with you in relation to your mum and her needs. Again Lisa can i just thank you for the your kind words on the review

My mum has been at Green Park since September 2024 and is happy and settled here, the staff have always treated her with respect and many a time I have come in to see a member of staff sat holding hands with her or comforting her if she has been anxious. I can leave here knowing that she is really
looked after well and I am so grateful for the wonderful staff that work here, they have been a god send. The home's greatest asset is their staff. My mum has been on the Kensington unit in Green Park since September 2024.

We had 3 traumatic & unsettled care home placements & up to 200 care home refusals before we luckily found Langfield for Dad, from the onset Lisa Marie (Manager) has shown nothing but transparency, warmth care & professionalism towards dad & all his family, the support staff, nurses & housekeeping staff
have been so welcoming & reassuring, their person centered working practices, love, time warmth & care towards all of their residents & families is second to none, my dad has a clean bright & cheery bedroom with all of his home comforts he is always smiling & chatting he has made new friends & enjoys all of the lovely meals, dad has shown no aggression whilst residing at Langfield which is all credit to his lovely support staff & the bright & happy environment that he lives, i would recommend Langfield recconect to anyone, its the way forward for our older loved ones. I cannot thank them enough for making dad happy & settled they go above & beyond for their residents & families

Mum was in Chatsworth Lodge for short-term rehabilitation. She was well looked after by the excellent staff who were friendly, caring and accommodating. We felt that mum was safe and she became much stronger and able to return to living independently.

Ashlea Mews goes above and beyond. From the manager and admin staff to the cleaners and entertainment staff. There is always a welcome from the staff, and they answer any queries promptly.
All of the residents are smart and look comfortable. Our relative gets agitated at times, and all staff treat
her with kindness and dignity. As a family, we couldn't wish for a better place for our loved one to be cared for and loved.

We are new to Green Park (Nov 25) but so far I have only praise for the management and staff. The care staff are so respectful and nothing is too much trouble. The housekeeping is amazing and gets 10/10. Mum is eating well and really settled in her new home. I am content that Mum is safe and being well
looked after.
