Since 1984, Orchard Care Homes have provided award-winning purpose-built care accommodation, allowing older people to enjoy the very best. Those who felt isolated in their own home gain companionship; those who were struggling to cope alone receive 24-hour help and support; and others who may have felt like they were a burden can find themselves much more independent.

The group look to go beyond the ‘National Standards for Care Homes for Older People’ caring about every detail of residents’ lives including health, diet, exercise, hobbies and social activities. Their aim is to ensure that all residents continue enjoying life, receiving the very highest standard of care. The company has recently achieved the prestigious Investors in People Award in recognition of excellent staff training.

Orchard can help you choose a care home for yourself or a relative, and they also provide important information for those looking to work in care. They are delighted to accept both local authority and private funded residents.

If you are looking for a care home in Northern England why not visit one of their care homes yourself and see what they offer? Please call them to arrange a time that’s convenient for you.

Our beloved dad was treated with dignity, love, kindness, and respect by everyone at Cherry Tree. I have nothing but huge thanks to every one of you. We went most days to see our dad and although he had Alzheimer's we knew dad felt loved by each and every one of you .Dad sadly passed away in August
with us all around him. Indeed we stayed there a number of days and nights. I don't have enough words to reflect the absolute dignity and care dad and us all were given throughout. Myself and my brothers and sisters will never, ever forget it. You all went above and beyond. If there were 100 stars you would get that from me. Thank you to the manager and all the wonderful team you are professionals who care deeply about getting things right. You certainly did that for our magical dad and us all .

I would not recommend this care home. I have experienced extreme decline in my friend whilst at Cherrytrees. This has been decline in mental and physical health. What's more concerning is the lack of stimulation in this care home for the residents. I have to agree with another review and it does smell
of urine in here. It does knock you back when you walk down the corridors. Some of the staff and the manager is unfriendly. I'm not one for leaving negative reviews but it's got to be said and I do agree with the other negative reviews. I would not place my loved one in this care home. Be very careful when choosing.

My father was initially placed into this carehome on an emergency respite basis. The deterioration which took place in this carehome with my father was nothing short of shocking. I have never seen a person deteriorate so quickly. Not surprising really. I had to fight to get him out of bed. He'd be
laid in bed all day if I didn't keep ontop of the staff to get him out. It was more noticable when short staffed especially at the weekends. It got to the point where formal complaints had to be made to get the most basic of needs met. Managers don't seem to understand the importance of even the basics of stimulation in people suffering with dementia or Alzheimers. It seems as though they keep people in bed for ease. I can honestly say I have never seen as many people rapidly deteriorate or pass away as in this carehome. Being even more noticable as the individuals appeared physically fit upon entry, albeit suffering from dementia or Alzheimers. I would not recommend this carehome.

Both my father and mother in law were given a shared room at very short notice on the 28th May. The staff are very understanding, caring and respect of their needs. They are very well looked after by all members of the caring team. The Deputy Manger especially is wonderful. She gives us updates on how
both are doing. They are both happy where they are. They both go out a few times each day, using their bus passes for short excursions.

My mother came to Cherry Trees last summer and she settled in really quickly with the help of both staff/carers and other members/residents of the care home. It's not easy to settle when you have been so independent, but times were changing and therefore challenging for Mum. She needed help and care
24/7, and I'm so pleased to say that she has had this from everyone at Cherry Trees. She has been shown love and lots of professional care from every carer that she is in contact with

Staff were always pleasant and helpful. Many appear to really enjoy their work despite the obvious demands of this type of work. My aunt was always addressed by her name and encouraged to get involved with others and the activities. I did think the room could be cleaner, especially the floor. I dropped
some water once on the floor - wiped it with toilet tissue which then turned very dirty. That said, a very nice care home, lovely gardens and courtyard.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Home and for your positive comments about the staff and the activities. I am so sorry you had a concern about the cleanliness, the Home is very busy with constant footfall on the floors, had we been made aware of your concerns at the time we would have been able to address them and ensure the spillage was rectified.

Cherry Trees Care Home

Dad has now spent around 12 months at Cherry Trees after sadly not been able to continue living at his home all alone. Firstly he was admitted on to the residential side even though he was suffering from dementia, but recently he has been moved over on to the dementia unit. I cannot speak highly enough
of how he is been looked after, from the caring, friendly staff, to the activities they provide for the lovely residents they look after. It is so comforting to know dad is receiving the care that he deserves in his later days. Thank you Cherry Trees!

Paddock Stile Manor is providing a high level of care for my mam. A massive strength of the home is the kindness, care and consideration of the staff. Staff ensure Mam's dignity is maintained at all times and respond appropriately to her needs, including contacting medical services if necessary. Staff
frequently go above and beyond expectations. Staff work hard to keep the home clean, Mam's room is frequently cleaned, floors washed, bathroom cleaned, bedding changed, etc. Staff ensure Mam always has access to soft drinks; tea, coffee, fruit, biscuits are offered frequently. Mam chooses not to leave her room so staff visit regularly and spend time with her. Visitors are always made welcome.

Personally I do not agree or recognise some of the negative reviews on here but everyone is different !!
From personal experience I cannot praise the manager and the team highly enough.
Putting our dad into care was the hardest thing we have ever had to do. Dad and us as a family, were always
treated with care, kindness and respect. Yes it's not the same as being at home and it tugs at every heart string but we went to visit every day and at different times so we were able to form a good picture of the standard of care he received. Dad was contented and happy and we will always be grateful to his carers and everyone at cherry trees who he formed a real bond with. 3 members of staff in paritucal are always available to listen and don't hide away like some care home managers.

I often look at Cherry Trees website page or social media to see what's still going on after losing my dad in January. My father was in the home for nearly 2 years. I am shocked and stunned at the terrible things that people have written about the care home and I can honestly say I have no idea When
these things could possibly have happened. I spent much time with my father in the home and I had to say without exception he was loved and cared for and looked after. He had severe dementia and was always treated with the upmost respect. I never came to see him when he didn't have a shirt and tie on which they were used to seeing him in to the moment he passed away. He had a shave in the morning and was beautifully clean. The staff can do no more than they do. They arrange fantastic things for the residence to do under very hard circumstances with lots of different needs of each patient. The cleaners are just incredibly amazing. I can rest knowing he had the very best care home

Three Bridges Nursing Home

from C A (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

From the outside, The Three Bridges looks welcoming and homely. Staff have their pictures on the wall and are recognised and rewarded for hard work to promote a positive culture which will also have a positive impact on residents. All of the staff are excellent, they go out of their way to help and
genuinely care. There's always activities on and it's like a home from home. I can now sleep at night knowing that my father in law is being well looked after. I have had many relatives in numerous homes over the years and I can honestly say that this one is by far the best on every level. The care he receives means the world to us.

Cherry Trees Care Home

from J T (Wife of Resident) published on 10 July 2025

Since my husband was admitted to Cherry Trees, he has been treated with the utmost care, dignity and respect and always with genuine warmth, humour and affection, this commitment to delivering the best care for him has not waivered despite his fluctuations in mood swings brought on by his condition.
Visiting
family members are greeted with warmth and humour and offers of hospitality are usual.
Communication is excellent, calling me whenever they have a query or my husband needs anything.
My partner often speaks highly of the cook's varied cuisine and has good positive relationships with the staff which is a comfort as he is the youngest resident and his condition has caused him to remain largely in his room despite everyones best efforts.
One member of staff in particular knows him so well and he enjoys her company which helps so much in enabling the rest of the staff to meet his needs when he is least cooperative.
The overall feel within the home is that of family which gives me great comfort.

My mom was a resident in Cherry Trees Care Home for nearly 2 years.
All of the staff cared for my mom dearly every day.
They were always polite, the care home was always clean and was never smelly.
There were often singers who came to entertain the residents and always things to do.
All of the residents
were cared for and happy.
I never left Cherry trees worried about my mom, I knee she was always cared for, which is not the experience we have had in previous care.
Cherry trees is a lovely place to be for your loved ones.
