My Father went in for respite care. The home was always welcoming. The staff do an amazing job and nothing is too much trouble. My Father has commented on how good the food is. Whilst visiting I've noticed many positive aspects to the home including the cruise entertainment, mad hatters tea party and
the nursing home dog. My Father likes the outdoors and had the weather been better the staff would have put him in the beautiful gardens.
Next time I would send both parents in for respite.

Overall very happy with my mums care. I'm a bit disappointed that sometimes when I visit there is no drink or it is too far away for her to reach even though we have made staff aware, I was even told there was a shortage of beakers.

My mum has been here for the last 20 months. The care my mum has received is excellent. Starting with residentail cre and now needing nursing care. This dementia home has gone above & beyond to keep my mum safe, well cared for all the things you would expect but this nursing home doesn't just keep her
safe, clean, well fed, they make time for her and love her as though she is part of their family and this is her home like being at home with me. I leave knowing her well being is first and foremost for all members of staff. My mum has vascular dementia so her behaviour at times is very challenging. Thank you Eckington Court for reassurance, compassion and care for making my mum feel happy & safe.

The care home is extremely clean and the cleaners are friendly and do a fantastic job.
The receptionist always greets you with a smile and will also help in anyway she can.
The carers always respects the residents privacy and puts them first but most of all they are so gentle, caring and have a good
understanding of everyone's needs. The management always makes time to walks around talking to the residents listening to them.

The food is freshly made every day and if you want something different that's not on the menu they will always cook it for them. They do arts, trips to the shops, have bands and other performing acts on, coffee mornings to raise money for charity. I would highly recommend.

Dad has been here over 4 years.
Care staff are polite, hard working and patient.
They are appropriately affectionate with residents and chat and engage with them.
Staff contact doctors if necessary and always update me if dad isn't well or has had a fall.
Dad enjoys the meals, which are usually
cooked from scratch. Buns, cakes and desserts are freshly made.
The activities coordinator works hard to put on a range of activities to entertain and stimulate residents.
The home encourage us to attend family meetings and welcome our suggestions.
Dad is grateful for the care he receives and it is reassuring to see that staff are fond of him.

I love this care home for my dad. He has been so loved and liked by all staff. He is so settled here, compared to the other he was in - he did like it there. He is so happy and more content in Eckington Court. The staff are brilliant to all residents.
Would recommend.

All the staff, without exception, are kind, empathetic and caring. They really care about the residents and do everything possible to make them happy, and their needs are taken care of. The staff's attention to detail is second to none, both health and happiness. The entertainment that is provided is
fabulous and the most special time for residents and family. I am so happy my dad is here.

While I was at the Home, my Mother took a tumble. The staff deserve high praise.
Within seconds (no more than five), three of the ladies were giving assistance. I must also point out, that no one there (including myself, who was witness to the incident), could have done anything to prevent this occurrence.
I love my Mother, as does my sister. After witnessing this, I could not have more confidence, in the staff and facility. Truly 1st class.

This is a very difficult period for relatives in care homes. Visitors are essential for the mental wellbeing of many residents and Eckington Court have done everything they can to allow visitors while maintaining a safe regime for all. My mother suffered a stroke in October '21 and has improved both
mentally and physically far more than we had hoped in the care of Eckington Court.

My sisters and I were extremely pleased with the care our mum was given over her 2-year stay until her death in August. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and she was happy there. Her care when she had covid was exemplary and she recovered to celebrate her 100th birthday with us in May which
the staff organised for her. Our thanks go to all the staff.

My late father was a resident in the home between June and November 2020. Admitted during this covid lockdown was particularly difficult for all staff, however, they took the time to discuss everything with us and put us at ease. Dad quickly settled and in our brief meetings with him, he assured us
that all staff were friendly, patient and helpful. He remarked that they treated him as if he was a friend and did not make him feel that he was troubling anyone.

The care home has been excellent with the care that they have provided for my mum. Nothing is any trouble and under the current circumstances, the staff are committed 110%. Every week there is some sort of social event and I can see from the images that they have posted that my mum is certainly enjoying
herself. Currently, they are offering FaceTime calls and this is proving to be of great benefit to me and my mum.

Update on Eckington Court, we’ve just got a new chef and she’s an amazing cook. I thought the last chef was good but she’s better, her shortbread biscuits are better than the ones in Scotland and her all chocolate butterfly buns are heavenly to name but a few, only trouble is I’m going to need some
elastic for my trousers. Also, we’ve all been tested, staff and residents for Covid-19 and we all came back clear. The management and staff have done an incredible job keeping us all safe, we have two badgers now that we feed at night and a nest of blue tits in one of the bird boxes which are close to fledging.

Compassionate, thoughtful, comforting and respectful are just some of the words that describe the wonderful care our mum receives at Eckington Court. At the centre of all their activities and care are the residents, and this was very evident when staff went out of their way to help our family celebrate
our mum's 100th Birthday; every detail had been thought of. The personal and emotional support given to our mum is excellent, and it is a great comfort to know our mum is in very safe hands.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.687)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.687) out of 10 for Eckington Court Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.287 for Eckington Court Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (6 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.287
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.4 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Eckington Court Nursing Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.7
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
