I absolutely love this care home. The staff are brilliant with the residents and cannot do enough for them. My mum is happy here. I no longer worry about her well being now she is at Riverdale. The activities that they do are brilliant and the residents love it.
If you are looking for a care home
for your loved ones in Chesterfield I recommend Riverdale. I have been in other care homes Riverdale is the best one.

Riverdale has completely been turned around since my Dad moved here 2 years ago.
The new staff and new management team are great. The place is immaculately clean now and most importantly my Dad is well taken care of. The home manager will always make time for me if I have any queries.
There are
always lots of activities for the residents and you are made to feel welcome by the staff when you visit your loved ones.

I have nothing but praise for every member of the team at Riverdale Care home. Mum was a resident there for nearly 5 months until her passing recently. The care she has received has been exemplary and she was shown kindness, compassion, respect and love during all her time at the home. Putting a loved
one with dementia into a care home is not an easy decision and one which we as a family had no choice but to make but I can honestly say from the day she went in our mum was treated with the utmost respect and kindness.
Every time we visited we were also made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for any of the team members.
When mum passed away she was treated with dignity and was never left alone.
Riverdale truly felt as if it was mums own home and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing to find a care home for their loved one.

The Unit Manager invited me to Riverdale to review my husband's care plan. I was very pleased with the thoroughness of the review and how well she knew my husband. I was able to cover a small number of concerns I had and the care plan was updated accordingly. I went to see my husband immediately afterward
and saw some of the updates being put into action.
I was pleased to hear about their plans to introduce new activities and I met the new activities leader.
There has been a big improvement in my husband's care over the past 12 months owing to the positive changes the new management has driven forward.

All staff are amazing and give a good standard of care to all residents. Good recreation and activities are available. The home provides a holistic approach to the care they provide. There is always a friendly atmosphere with plenty of activities to join in with. The staff are lovely and very approachable. There is good communication between the management team and us and any problems or concerns are dealt with quickly
and efficiently. It's always a pleasure to visit my grandma at Riverdale. We would highly recommend every aspect of life there.

Lovely caring staff and management are always there to listen and help and I am kept informed of any issues promptly. Mum's individual needs are catered for e.g. washing clothes in her own powder. The residents are entertained on a very regular basis by lovely activity coordinators. Birthdays and special
occasions are celebrated and the residents are all made to feel special and at home. The home has recently been renovated inside making a clean, fresh and modern home for everyone to enjoy. Thank you everyone at Riverdale!

Going into Riverdale care home in January 2020 was the best thing that could have happened to Dad for his own health and safety. We never want our loved one to have to leave their families, but this decision, hard as it was, was definitely the right one. The staff are very caring and friendly, and they
have the residents best interests at heart. Dad is looking so much better since being in Riverdale, and he is eating really well now. We couldn't ask for better care and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Riverdale care home. Thank you for keeping our loved one safe in a year that has been so horrendous.

My mum has been a resident of Riverdale since March this year, just before the first lockdown. In all of this time, I haven't been able to visit inside, so can't comment on some of the ratings. It has been a relief to me how well my mum has settled, and it is thanks to the management and staff. When
I speak to her, she always sats how well she is treated, and often tells me how good the food it. Thank you for everything you do. I will be so happy when we can visit properly, hopefully soon.

The staff are all very hard working and treat all the residents with care and kindness. Due to covid, I cannot visits as often as I would like to, but hopefully, this will improve. The home is spacious, clean and a calm place to live in and visit, and I am always made welcome with a cup of tea. I know

My mum has been a resident in Riverdale for just over a year now as she has Alzheimer's. I was very apprehensive about her going into a care home and wondered how or if she would settle. However, although she has her "ups and downs" she has settled as well as she possibly could and is as comfortable
with the staff as she is her own family. All the staff treat her with kindness and care. They also seem a very stable and supportive team with a good manager who keeps family informed of any concerns. This review has been given during covid 19 and when I last spoke to the manager there were no cases in the home and the staff were pulling together and coping well. I am so thankful to all the staff at Riverdale for their hard work, under what must be very difficult circumstances, and the care they give to my mum and all the residents, with skill, kindness and good humour.
