Care Homes Owned by Orchard Healthcare Group in Merseyside

Initially I was worried my sister wouldn't settle in a care home but she has and not just settled but is very happy. She loves her room and she gets on famously with everyone, particularly the staff. She loves doing activities with Emily, especially arts and crafts. She has put on weight after months of having no appetite and is in a much better state than when she was at home. Can't speak highly enough for the place. It's been a game changer.

during 3 weeks - the sink in the kitchen wasn't working, hygiene issue

My mum has been a resident there for the last 2 months all i can say the staff that look after her are amazing she has settled into her new little room fabulously and made some lovely friends there

My grandad was a resident in this care home until he fell and had a bleed to the brain due to imcompetent care staff. Not enough staff and even less staff at weekends. All his belongings and personal items went missing even tho they were labelled. We moved him to a nice home in southport but he later died due to his fall at thornton hall. Manager was very rude. Do not recommend .

My mum is in Thornton Lodge which is the dementia section of the care home between my sister and I we visit everyday had therefore see the demands on the staff caring and assisting residents with high behavioural problems they do a amazing job. Would like to see them have more staff for support. The activities the home provides is also very good Monday to Friday would like to see activities Saturday and Sunday as very quiet.

Dad seems happy here and staff are lovely with him.

The staff here are lovely and working so hard but there just isnt enough of them. The buzzer system is old and one time I waited 20 minutes and then was let in by another visitor leaving. Get a buzzer system which rings through to staff on shift if nobody is in the office. I get a bus to see Nan, there's one an hour. Don't let me waste time outside please. I really wonder is this a care place or a business. Staff care a lot, helped me with meds for her, helped us get key sorted, etc. They can't do enough for you, friendly, etc. Also decor is very drab, why would visitors want to sit there for more than an hour? It should encourage people to want to stay. I'm a designer, I would volunteer my time and money on materials to improve this for free, but if this company is making a large profit, that's where my patience runs thin.

My dad spent the last 18 months of his life here and we couldn't have asked for better care. He had Alzheimer's and complex care needs linked to cancer and the staff were incredibly kind, skilled, and supportive. Dad was happy, settled, and treated with dignity throughout. As his needs increased, the team continued to meet them with compassion and professionalism. They had a good relationship with district nurses and palliative care and always asked for medical support when needed. The home is always clean, bright, fresh, with beautiful gardens and a great range of daily activities that residents can choose to join. My dad loved the food cakes & treats. The staff, from carers, cleaners and managers are warm and welcoming, they know the residents by name. Thanks to their outstanding care, my dad was able to pass peacefully at 'home'. I'm so grateful to the whole team and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to anyone looking for kind, dedicated care for a loved one with Alzheimer's

My mum came into the home October 2024. She has settled in really well, and been made to feel welcome. The staff who look after her are so nice, friendly and kind. They give her the utmost care, which is why she has settled so quickly. When visiting the staff are very warm and welcoming, and friendly. Which give it a lovely atmosphere.

Thornton Hall is easily accessible by public transport and also has an ample car park. On entering the building, welcoming staff greet you with a smile and a bit of banter. Inside, the carers strive to maintain a tidy, hygienic environment and keep the residents groomed and clean. There is an excellent programme of activities and daily menu on the notice board. Family and friends are always welcome to join in. There is a beautiful, well-kept, safe, garden with benches and a table under a gazebo. I like to walk with my brother there, so he can get a bit of fresh air and exercise, and snack and play a board game or do a jigsaw together. My brother doesn't know where he is, but I feel rest assured he is in the best place.

My expereince in Thornton Hall is excellent. I find the staff very, very good, treat you with respect and dignity. Management and staff are excellent.

My mum has been at Thornton Hall for 18 months. Mum has received outstanding care and support. The staff are amazing, they treat Mum with dignity and respect. They care for her needs in the most professional way. The staff do an extremely demanding job and should be highly commended for the outstanding quality of care they provide.

My mum moved in a few months back and surprisingly settled in fairly quickly. The staff are very kind and considerate to the residents. Facilities are ideal. My mum thinks the food could be improved on.

Finally, when she first arrived, we stocked her wardrobe with clothes which were individually labelled with her name. Within 3 days, loads of her stuff had disappeared, way too much for her to have worn in that time.
