Staff seem very friendly, clean home, well fed. Although I don't feel the residents go out into the fresh air enough, particularly in summer. Also not enough singers come into the home.
Reply from Zenka shires, Home manager at Chatsworth Lodge Care HomeThank you for your review. We are pleased you find the home clean, friendly and our people well fed. We hold a monthly Resident and Relative meeting which we would love you to attend to discuss your ideas for activities.

Riverdale Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My dad moved to Riverdale care home in May after years of battling with dementia. Moving him into a care home was very daunting for us and a very emotional time. Staff quickly made us all feel welcome (especially my mum who spent most days at the care home with my dad), mum felt supported and felt like
she too made new friends whilst going through this emotional time.
Staff were very patient and kind and always went out their way to have a laugh and a joke with my dad which he really enjoyed.
Not just the carers but other staff (cleaners, maintenance, activities coordinator) all took them time to make a fuss of him and make him feel at home.
The careworkers go above and beyond and gave us lots of support on the days leading up to his passing. The staff gave us lots of privacy, reassurance and showed us so much kindness. We thank you all for everything you did for Sean.
Reply from Michelle Rose, Manager at Riverdale Care HomeHeidi, thank you very much for your kind words. Both your mum and dad, are being missed by us all, as they were such a noticeable part of our community. Your mum's personality and interaction with the team were an integral part of her visits with your dad and us too. We will miss them.

Home was very clean and bright. Staff were always very kind and patient understanding and cheerful. Sarah was very helpful with my mother's issue with wound care & dressing. Meals were nicely presented and home cooked and plenty of choice and variety. Senior staff and managers very helpful and knowledgeable
and always had much appreciated advice.

I can honestly say that I have found the team at Riverdale to be the loveliest, kindest and down to earth people I have ever met. My Mum was transferred to Riverdale, not for dementia care, but for end of life care when she was dying from cancer. She was only at the home for a month but the staff ensured
that month was the best it could possibly be for her and they also looked after me as well. Mum died peacefully, with me holding her hand, on the 22nd of November 2025. Thank you Riverdale for everything you have done, for putting your arms around my Mum and me and never letting go until the end. I couldn't have done it without you all.
Reply from Michelle Rose, Manager at Riverdale Care HomeThank-you for your lovely kind words Angie. It was a privilege to look after your lovely mum, at this most important time in her life. Carol was witty and endearing to us all to the very end...we are glad you chose us too for these final steps in her journey. We make it our mission to provide as much care and attention to families at this difficult time, to ensure you have as little stress as possible. We hope you are keeping well yourself, and send our deepest condolences to you and your extended family once again.

When a loved one has to go into care words cannot describe how you feel. My husband has now been in care for approx 1 year, he always looks clean, smart and tidy. The staff are really friendly, always there to cheer you up. Recently it was our wedding anniversary, they made sure we had a day full of
memories, I cannot thank them enough. The icing on the cake would be if we were able to get out and about a little more.

Mother's transition into care has been a traumatic experiences. This was due to poor and slow council actions. The care home, however, was understanding of the issues.
Care has been prompt, kind and appropriate, especially when she was ill.

My Father went in for respite care. The home was always welcoming. The staff do an amazing job and nothing is too much trouble. My Father has commented on how good the food is. Whilst visiting I've noticed many positive aspects to the home including the cruise entertainment, mad hatters tea party and
the nursing home dog. My Father likes the outdoors and had the weather been better the staff would have put him in the beautiful gardens.
Next time I would send both parents in for respite.

My mum has been here for the last 20 months. The care my mum has received is excellent. Starting with residentail cre and now needing nursing care. This dementia home has gone above & beyond to keep my mum safe, well cared for all the things you would expect but this nursing home doesn't just keep her
safe, clean, well fed, they make time for her and love her as though she is part of their family and this is her home like being at home with me. I leave knowing her well being is first and foremost for all members of staff. My mum has vascular dementia so her behaviour at times is very challenging. Thank you Eckington Court for reassurance, compassion and care for making my mum feel happy & safe.
