Stocks Hall Residential Home Ormskirk

My mother has been in Stocks Hall for nearly 3 years. We were advised to send her for security. We were amazed by how quickly she settled in and adapted. This is due to the care and attention she has received. She had a serious illness and on recovery was in a wheelchair. It was due to the patience and care of the staff that she was able to walk again and at 93 this was no mean feat. I have no complaints. It has given us space to enjoy our retirement. We can visit at any time and she is very content.

Mum is very happy, and that means the world to us. It is wonderful to see her doing so well, enjoying herself and feeling so settled. We are incredibly grateful to the whole team for the care, kindness and warmth they show her every day. We would highly recommend the home to anyone looking for a caring, happy and welcoming place for their loved one.

I cannot praise the Staff enough. Before going to live at Stocks Hall, my mum was depressed, tearful daily and confused. She has been given a new lease of life. Staff got to know her and her past and from this have tailored daily activities for her. She is so happy here and the Staff are amazing with her. Thank you for everything you do for my mum.

The staff at Stocks Hall Residential Home are simply outstanding. Their kindness, attentiveness and genuine care for every resident is evident in everything they do, and nothing is too much trouble. They recently helped celebrate my mum's 100th birthday and went above and beyond to make it a special and memorable occasion for our whole family. The staff are so friendly and very careing when we went yesterday they offered us tea or coffee and biscuits, and they were so lovely to our friend, who is a resident there.

Very happy with the care and support given . No issues. Regular contact and updates. Always open, friendly and welcoming. Always clean and tidy. Staff seem very happy. Residents are treated with care and respect.

When going into sister-in-law staff very pleasant offered drink with cake etc or melon. Got a call from nursing home to say doctor in to check over people, looked at sister-in-laws sore on leg, felt her tummy found to be tight ordered ambulance staff called asked to attend. Members of staff stayed with her and made up over night bag. After all tests and stay over night returned next day to nursing home a member of staff rang to say she returned.

Visitors are always welcomed by a smile. Carers are all very pleasant and extremely easy to talk to. It is easy to see that they are dedicated to their jobs. Residents seem very calm in their surroundings, and the whole place is kept absolutely spotless. Couldn't wish for a nicer place.

We're really happy with the quality of care that Mum receives at Stocks. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that the outdoor facilities are a little tired and laundry sometimes goes missing.

The staff are caring and friendly. There are varied stages of dementia within the unit. It must be difficult for staff to support and help all the residents when they are at different stages of their dementia. Some require more help than others. The regular staff understand the needs of their regular residents. I have seen new residents take time to settle in. Occasionally the smooth running of the unit is disrupted by too many agency staff on duty, this is usually over the weekends. I feel the home offers comfort, support and love to its residents.

There are regular activities including baking and bingo (the latter being very popular as it's an opportunity to refill her sweetie stash) and gardening in the warmer months. There have been a few instances of missing clothes/belongings which have mostly been located and if not located staff have exhaustively looked for them. The manager is very approachable and clearly knows the residents. The staff are friendly and kind.

All staff are extremely professional, caring and kind. The food is very good. Communication is excellent regarding the care plan and any events relevant to the resident. A relaxed environment, warm and welcoming.

My mother has been in Stocks Hall for approximately nine months. She took a little while to settle in, staff have been very patient with her and have tried many strategies to encourage her engagement with others. In that time, her physical health and appearance has improved massively. She has loved visiting the hairdresser each week. If we have ever had any concerns or enquiries, they have been dealt with promptly and professionally, tailoring her needs as required. Mum is slowly attending more of the social events that are many and varied. All the staff are friendly and good humoured and it is good to see both male and female carers. I feel confident that she is getting the care and attention she needs to improve her health and welfare.

Overall I am very happy with the care my mother receives and the way the home is run. I only have one small, annoying criticism rather than a complaint in that items of clothing go missing, sometimes for weeks. It is frustrating and embarrassing to continually ask staff where they are to the point of giving up.

Friendly atmosphere and very caring staff throughout. A real pleasure to visit, always welcoming. Very pleased to see Stepmum so happy and now feeling at home, and I know she is safe and cared for. Physical and mental well-being taken care of with kindness.

My dad has been in Stocks Hall for just over 12 months now. He is absolutely living his best life. Every time I go to visit, he is happy to see me but can't wait to get back into the lounge with his friends. I am so pleased he has settled in here and so grateful to the staff for keeping him safe during the pandemic. I feel that Dad has such a better quality of life now that he is being cared for by the manager and her team, and as I work in Social Care too, so I know how hard it can be sometimes to keep everyone happy. Thank you to everyone.

A resident, who showed me where the office was, told me he loved the place, and the staff were great.

Having been in four different hospitals and four different care homes in the last six months, my husband is now settled in Stocks Hall. We are delighted with the standard of care he is receiving and with the home itself. The staff are always welcoming and helpful, and we feel sure, doing their utmost for him. It is a great relief for his family that he is so settled, comfortable and safe.

All of the staff make such an effort to show love and support to the residents, encouraging them to take part in lots of fun activities. It is all appreciated by our family.
