I started my career in care; however, I have nursing experience also and moved into a care team leader role, which I held for 5 years before being supported by some fabulous members of management who have helped me in developing my skills and experience, which took me into a Deputy Manager role. I have now been a Deputy Manager in residential care for the past 10 years and am very passionate about my role. I continue to develop my experience and skills and am currently completing a diploma level with the aim of progressing my career in the future and managing a care home of my own.
I take huge pride in ensuring person-centred care for all residents and supporting the care team in rolling that care out across the home.
With over six years of experience in the care home sector and additional background in home care, I’ve built a career rooted in compassion, dignity, and a deep commitment to improving lives. My journey into care began at a young age, inspired by a personal experience—when my brother’s accident left him paralysed, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of high-quality, person-centred support.
Since then, I’ve progressed through a variety of roles, including care assistant, activities coordinator, senior carer, unit manager, and now deputy manager. This path has given me a comprehensive understanding of care home life—from hands-on support to team leadership and strategic oversight. I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care, along with specialist qualifications in medication management and end-of-life care.
For me, care is more than a profession—it’s a vocation. I’m proud to be part of a team that puts people first, and I remain passionate about making a meaningful difference every single day
My career in administration has touched various departments and industries over the past 22 years, having supported company directors in a personal assistant role and worked in human resources. I have experience in supporting different areas of a business and am able to transfer that experience into my role at Rose House and support all areas of the home as required.
I started working for Runwood Homes in August 2023 for one of our sister homes, Liberty House and moved over to Rose House as part of the commissioning team when Rose House first opened. I really enjoy my role working as an administrator and supporting the families and residents in any way that I can.
I joined Runwood Homes on 4th November 2025 as a receptionist. Before this, I worked as an optical consultant, where I gained valuable experience and developed strong communication and customer service skills that I now bring to my current role.
I thoroughly enjoy working at Runwood Homes and feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a supportive team. Since starting, I have built wonderful relationships with staff, residents, and their families, which makes my role especially rewarding. Being able to contribute to a welcoming and caring environment is something I truly value.
I’m originally from Glasgow and moved to Doncaster in November 2025. I joined the team here in February 2026 as the Maintenance Operative, where I help keep the home safe, comfortable, and running smoothly for everyone.
Before moving to Doncaster, I worked as a Facilities Manager at a special needs school supporting children with Cerebral Palsy and other brain-related conditions. That role taught me the importance of maintaining a safe, reliable, and supportive environment for people who depend on the place where they live or learn.
I enjoy fixing things, solving problems, and helping wherever I can around the home. It’s important to me that residents feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for in their surroundings.
