The Beeches provides residential, dementia and short-stay care for up to 44 residents in a welcoming home in the heart of Wath-upon-Dearne, near Rotherham.

Set within walking distance of the town centre and surrounded by local history, the home offers easy access to shops, markets, libraries and green spaces such as Manvers Lake. The Beeches is designed to feel calm and familiar, with 44 single en-suite bedrooms and a mix of communal spaces including a reading nook, tearoom and two refurbished lounges.

My wife and I are always impressed by the hard-working staff at The Beeches, who create a loving and caring environment for the residents. This really showed when my mother celebrated her 100th birthday at the home on April 20th. The event was amazing, particularly considering the current covid situation.
The attention to detail was outstanding, with a beautiful birthday cake and a splendid buffet. The events manager and staff did everything they could to create a family atmosphere in the reception hall with decorations and Mum's photographs. After tea, Mum and the family were entertained in the summer house by members of a male voice choir. What a wonderful occasion - thanks to the efforts of the brilliant staff.

My mum has been a resident for nearly two years. Even though I have been unable to visits as often as I would have liked, due to Covid restrictions, I have felt happy that she has been cared for.

My sister has now been a resident of The Beeches for several months and we are now more than happy to see her settled in such a lovely, warm environment. It boasts a lovely, warm atmosphere and the staff and carers are kindly and sympathetic to my sister's needs. It's very nicely decorated and pristine

There is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The building is light, airy and clean. The food is fantastic, homemade and presented well in a spacious dining room. The bedroom I visit is always clean with its own facilities. the carers are friendly, cheerful and hardworking. They do all in their power
to be helpful to the residents. the restrictions of the pandemic make their job much harder and restricts informative conversations with relatives. I very much appreciate all the work of all the staff.

Quick response always to phone calls and also the entrance intercom. Welcoming is always friendly and staff are only too willing to help with any enquiries, everything is very professionally handled so too is testing, readily available prior to meeting mother, now in her own room. The reception area
is clean, bright and inviting with a lovely fish tank. Mum is now far happier with the updated rules of the family seeing relatives in their own room. All Covid procedures are followed with personal safety and care for staff and others. A place that you can have the highest confidence in to love, care and respect your mother. Mum is always presented in a clean, tidily and colour coordinated manner. Loves a read of her own delivered daily paper and really enjoys the prepared meals. Her needs are always respectfully attended to. Now for the Christmas decorations and celebrations, hopefully, there will be some social events in 2022 to raise everyone's spirit.

I have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. They treat the residents as individuals and with dignity. At times the cleanliness of the bathroom could have been better and help with personal care could be improved. The laundry department don't always return the personal clothing to my relative
(although marked) and it goes unnoticed because she is blind.

It is difficult to write this review as we have not been able to enter the home to see the facilities. I telephone my Aunt twice a week and she seems very happy with the care she receives. As I live in York we have quite a journey to visit my Aunt. We were able to book two outdoor visits. Unfortunately,
on the first visit, we drove all the way from York but someone had muddled the appointment and I was told to return in 40 minutes as my time slot had been taken. When I returned it was pouring with rain and I could only see her through the patio door for a few minutes. A long way for such a short visit!

All the staff treat my mother-in-law with kindness and respect. She always looks well presented, if I have any issues the staff are very quick to put my mind at rest. The only downside to The Beeches is the lounge area really does need a full overhaul on the furnishings i.e. stained chairs that have
definitely seen better days. Quite off-putting really, lets The Beeches down.

I cannot thank The Beeches enough for the way they have helped Dad settle in. After spending all this year in hospital, apart from 3 weeks, he now is much more like his old self enjoying all the many activities, especially the music. The management and staff are amazing, kind, caring and thoughtful,
nothing is too much trouble. The Beeches is an excellent care home and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Mum was very unsure about staying in a care home and it took a while for her to agree to give it a go. The staff all encouraged and supported her through the initial days of uncertainty, she also connect with other clients who were equally chatty. Having now settled, she enjoys the company of others,
both clients and staff alike, as well as participating in many of the activities presented. Overall so far Mum is so much happier and settled at The Beeches than I could have hoped for and will continue to enjoy the company and caring support from the staff and clients alike.

My mother is 101 years old. She arrived at The Beeches six months ago, originally for respite care having had, health-wise, a traumatic few years culminating in six admittances to hospital re: infections and falls during 2018. As a result, and in spite of having four carers a day, her then accommodation
being assisted living, and having only time-limited on-site management availability, was not considered suitable by NHS/Social Services for her personal safety. With its 24 hour care, regular good meals and rapid access to medical services, The Beeches offers the opportunity to improve her well being and mobility significantly. I am impressed with the level of care and the friendly atmosphere. I feel happy that we have made a good choice in choosing The Beeches.

I found the staff very welcoming and supportive. When my father came into the home he was hardly eating anything and was very reluctant to get out of bed. After a few days of his respite stay I could see a difference in him, he was eating more and seemed to be more interactive. The staff were patient
and understanding with him. Nothing has been too much trouble for them, I would definitely recommend the home to other families.

This care home was the best in our area when we researched the market 5 years ago.
Since then I would say that standards have improved and there is nothing that I think should be changed.
My mother (resident) has different views but that is because of her condition.
I cannot be more detailed as I
only visit occasionally because of living abroad.
Still maintain regular contact by phone.

The Beeches is a really lovely care home, very welcoming, clean and tidy with amazing staff. We could visit at any time and speak to someone if we had any questions. My lovely Dad was a resident for 14 months and especially during his last few days both Dad and our family were shown the most fantastic

The home has a good atmosphere.
Staff are approachable and always happy to help with any queries.
Rooms and corridors are clean and tidy.
There are lots of activities for the residents to take part in.
Singing, exercising, board games and trips out.
I'm happy that my mum is very settled there and
she is content with everything.

My husband went to live at The Beeches care home in May 2017, a difficult time for our family.
He was shown then the care and comfort from both management and staff, who are always pleasant and helpful and continue to do so.
