Sandholme Fold

The staff work hard to provide the level of care to make the residents comfortable and as happy as is possible given the circumstances they find themselves in. The home is clean, cheerful and friendly staff are always around.

My mum has been treated with care and kindness since the day she arrived at Sandholme Ford. The manager is excellent and always has time for me and/or my mum. The majority of the staff engaged with me and Mum. I am very happy my mum is in their care.

Mum moved into Sandholme in November. She is happy there. The staff are friendly, caring and helpful, and nothing is too much trouble, and they spend a lot of quality time with the residents. The atmosphere is lovely, and there is a lot of fun and laughter. The home is very clean. I have no hesitation in recommending Sandholme as a care home for any family member.

Mum has settled into Sandholme so well, much better than we expected. The staff are so caring, and it shows in all they do for her. She is happy and content. I now get quality time with her. She was so anxious all the time when she was at home. She recognises who I am and enjoys her time with me; I'm sure this is down to the reassurance and care she gets at Sandholme.

The home is welcoming, and the care team are meeting my mother's care needs. Mum has advanced dementia. They keep myself and my family up to date, and I walk in there as an essential caregiver to ensure Mum's physical and routine baths are given regularly with their help. All managers, carers, domestic and catering staff are friendly and approachable.

I feel it is a lovely care home, and I'm very pleased with the standard of care my dad is receiving. All the staff are lovely and always say hello to me. They are all very approachable and accommodating; this has been evident when I have asked for many things sorting for my dad. The team are very flexible and keen to please my dad when he asks for something different for his meals; he is always accommodated, which is lovely to see. I asked my dad for his view on how he is cared for, and he said "very good", which is a testament itself. Thank you to the team!

It's now over four years since Mum came to Sandholme Fold. She continues to do well, emotionally and physically - for a 96-year-old - and this is down to the excellent care she receives. The staff have had a difficult time with the ongoing pandemic situation, which of course, affects the vulnerable, but they continue to give excellent care and compassion and are always friendly and helpful to us. They always manage to make Mum smile, and if you knew how down she had been before coming to Sandholme, you'd see what a difference they've made.

She has been a resident for over four years. She has always been treated with love and dignity. She has had spells in hospital - the last being late Dec 21 from where she contracted Covid and then had to spend weeks in an alternate care home where her deterioration was evident. I genuinely believe that she is only with us today because she came back to Sandhome Fold. Thanks to the whole team.

I can not thank the staff and management enough for the care that they provide for my mum. Recently my dad sadly passed away, leaving my mum, who has dementia. Sandholme Fold was recommended, and I can see why. The staff are friendly and focus on the resident's needs. They also help family members as much as possible. I feel pressured when leaving my mum, which meals such a lot. Thank you.

My brother and I could not be more happy with the care and attention our lovely step mum has received at Sandholme Fold. The staff are lovely, the facilities are good, and they have made a real effort to have a range of interesting activities for the residents. When I come or call on the phone, my mum is often helping with baking, doing crafts or listening to an entertainer. What an amazing home!

I have been satisfied with the level of care my mother has received during her four years at Sandholme Fold. During the Coronavirus pandemic, the home have done their utmost to ensure the residents are kept safe, in what was a worrying time. I hope this continues and I am happy the home have made it possible for me to physically visit and see my mum.

The care for my Mum has been 100%. Very dedicated staff, caring and compassionate, and friendly. Very clean and well organised. Well balanced meals. It really is a peace of mind knowing Mum is very well cared for and in a safe environment. During the very difficult time with the pandemic, it was a tremendous relief when the results came back all negative for the staff and all residents, no complaints whatsoever. I would recommend Sandholme Fold. Lovely place and lovely people. Thank you so much.

As I have not been to the home in person since the middle of March its very difficult to rate as current, so this is on my past experience.

My mum had been a resident at Sandholme for two and a half years before she passed away there earlier in 2019. The staff are marvellous and made mum feel very safe and sound. They treated her like family despite her dementia taking over from time to time. A lovely residence.

If you have any concerns, these are addressed immediately and the staff are available at all times to discuss any issues. It is an excellent care home and one that I have no hesitation in recommending.

My mum has been in Sandholme Fold for six months, I cannot fault the care and attention she receives, the staff from management to housekeeping are all fantastic, she feels at home, I have no concerns.
