Anchor's Sandholme Fold is located in a quiet residential area of Hipperholme. It is close to the centre of Halifax, with good transport links to surrounding areas, whilst being close to green spaces such as Woodhead Park and Shibden Park.

The dedicated care team creates detailed care plans for customers by taking the time to get to know individuals and working with them and their loved ones. Sandholme Fold continues to welcome new residents.

Meals are cooked fresh and from locally sourced and seasonal ingredients where possible by a highly trained Chef Manager and kitchen staff. Residents are able to access services such as hairdressing within the home.

Anchor is England’s largest provider of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit provider of services to older people.

She has been a resident for over four years. She has always been treated with love and dignity. She has had spells in hospital - the last being late Dec 21 from where she contracted Covid and then had to spend weeks in an alternate care home where her deterioration was evident. I genuinely believe that
she is only with us today because she came back to Sandhome Fold. Thanks to the whole team.

I can not thank the staff and management enough for the care that they provide for my mum. Recently my dad sadly passed away, leaving my mum, who has dementia. Sandholme Fold was recommended, and I can see why. The staff are friendly and focus on the resident's needs. They also help family members as
much as possible. I feel pressured when leaving my mum, which meals such a lot. Thank you.

My brother and I could not be more happy with the care and attention our lovely step mum has received at Sandholme Fold. The staff are lovely, the facilities are good, and they have made a real effort to have a range of interesting activities for the residents. When I come or call on the phone, my mum
is often helping with baking, doing crafts or listening to an entertainer. What an amazing home!

Although the staff who attend to my mother are very good, my mother has fallen out of bed on two separate occasions due to not having side supports to her bed. This has now been rectified. She is unable to walk without a frame due to a hip operation. Also on more than two occasions has been ringing
the buzzer because of bedding being wet through due to having a weak bladder. Two hours later she was attended to, due to being short-staffed. Management denied this, I told the assistant manager that I wanted this put as an official complaint. She told me that the manager will ring me on Tuesday 25th May. I am still waiting. It is now Sunday 6th June. Also, I work long hours Monday to Friday and can only see my mother on a weekend to take her out in her wheelchair. When I spoke to the manager after the restrictions were lifted by the government I was told this can only be done Monday to Friday 10 to 4. Weekends can not be done, but why don't you take time off work. My mother pays for her care.

Feel so fortunate that we were able to secure a place here for my brother who unfortunately suffers from Parkinson’s, and needs residential care.
The staff are so caring, always have time to offer reassurance and information about any issues you want To discuss. Especially during such challenging

Sandholme Fold is a very friendly and very clean home. I think the staff now "get" my mum as her dementia isn't necessarily what people would think. The staff are always very kind and caring with her.
Her room is always clean and tidy, and the laundry is turned round very quickly.
My mum is not
always that keen on some of the meals, but the choices are good (could just be here tastes changing as she deteriorates).
My mum is very happy there.

I have been satisfied with the level of care my mother has received during her four years at Sandholme Fold. During the Coronavirus pandemic, the home have done their utmost to ensure the residents are kept safe, in what was a worrying time. I hope this continues and I am happy the home have made it

The care for my Mum has been 100%. Very dedicated staff, caring and compassionate, and friendly. Very clean and well organised. Well balanced meals. It really is a peace of mind knowing Mum is very well cared for and in a safe environment. During the very difficult time with the pandemic, it was a tremendous
relief when the results came back all negative for the staff and all residents, no complaints whatsoever. I would recommend Sandholme Fold. Lovely place and lovely people. Thank you so much.

Management are excellent. We are missing having a dedicated activities person.
As I have not been to the home in person since the middle of March its very difficult to rate as current, so this is on my past experience.

My mum had been a resident at Sandholme for two and a half years before she passed away there earlier in 2019. The staff are marvellous and made mum feel very safe and sound. They treated her like family despite her dementia taking over from time to time. A lovely residence.

Sandholme Fold has a very welcoming atmosphere which is immediate on entry. All the staff are friendly, polite and caring. My mum-in-law has very well cared for in all her needs for the past two years.
If you have any concerns, these are addressed immediately and the staff are available at all times
to discuss any issues. It is an excellent care home and one that I have no hesitation in recommending.

All the care staff are fabulous. There is nothing they will not do in terms of care for my Mum. Mum says meals are not too bad. The puddings are lovely. Mum is treated with respect and dignity.

My mother was a resident at Sandholme Fold for 3 months. In her time there she was treated with the utmost respect by all the staff. The home is well managed and run. It is clean, bright and welcoming. There are always plenty of activities arranged for the residents. Families are welcome to visit and
are in turn welcomed. I would recommend Sandholme Fold.
