My sister-in-law is very well taken care of. Her carers are kind, considerate and treat her with dignity. She also has excellent meals.

The home is warm and comfortable with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff are 'gems', caring and attentive to the residents, know all the resident's names and are very supportive and chatty.
I have marked cleanliness as 'good' as some visitors say there is a smell of urine, I myself have no sense of smell
so cannot comment. The activities only got a 'satisfactory' as there are not that many activities at the moment although plans are in hand, I understand, to remedy this.

The new manager who arrived in June seems very competent. After a meeting with her in September, she laid out plans for improvements in many areas, activities, food, cleanliness etc.

I am glad to see Paisley Lodge Care Home (formally 'Old Hopton Court') is now getting some improvements done. There is still a lot that needs to be done to bring it up to date. I would just like to say that the staffing levels on the upstairs floor where my relative is are not very good. Sometimes,
there are only 2 staff on for 20 residents which I don't think is enough or agency staff come in and don't know the residents. These are dementia patients and need extra care. The staff that are upstairs are really good but I just think they need more help.

Our lovely dad has been in Hopton Court for nearly 4 years. The staff are amazing the way they deal with all residents. They treat them in such a kind caring way and all are treated with dignity. We looked at 12 homes before we chose Hopton Court. This is the right home for our dad. Here he is taken
care of and looked after. Thank you to all the staff.

My mother is 93 and in Hopton Court. When I first went to take mum in I was a bit shocked at how bad some of the residents in here were. My mum has been in there for 6 weeks now and has settled in well this due to the staff who are marvellous with her. She has lost her speech, has dementia and is partially
blind and deaf and they communicate with her really well. They have helped me in every way with settling her in. I do think the home could do with a refurbishment (face lift) it is very much in need of. The security is very good as you cannot get in or out without someone letting you in. Her clothes are washed and ironed everyday. They could probably do with more carers.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.116)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.116) out of 10 for Paisley Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Paisley Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.116 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Paisley Lodge Care Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.6 = 0.116
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

My name is Craig, and I'm the Home Manager at Paisley Lodge Care Home in Leeds.

I started as a Care Assistant in 1999 with a focus on dementia care, and became a Registered Nurse in Mental Health in 2005. Since then, I've become qualified in Dementia Care Mapping and managed many services over the last decade - as you can probably tell, I'm very passionate about all areas of mental health, including dementia!

I joined the Paisley Lodge team in 2025 and have really enjoyed getting to know the residents and family members. Feel free to come say hi anytime!
