Richden Park is situated 2 miles from Ashby shopping centre and is in the Brumby Corner area, with 4 local churches within easy reach. The home is convenient for access to the M181.

The home is a modern 52-bedded purpose built Residential Care Home on the outskirts of town.

This modern purpose built home provides accommodation for 52 residents.

Outside services visit the home regularly - these include a hairdresser twice weekly, an optician every 6 months and 2 dentists that can be requested. The services of a physiotherapist are available through the GP. Scunthorpe mobile library visits regularly.

Various activities take place at Richden Park and these include making models, music & movement, shuffle & board games. Seasonal activities comprise the Easter Fayre and making Christmas cards.

Excursions are organised to the local shops and picnics at Normandby Hall, which is an historic centre with a farm and beautiful ornamental gardens, are also arranged.

My mother had to move from her existing care home as her dementia worsened and Richden Park appeared to offer what she needed. My sister and I have been extremely impressed by the care she's received at Richden Park and we've seen a significant improvement in her overall demeanour directly as a result.
It's a great comfort knowing Mum's being cared for so kindly by people who understand the impact of dementia, and while moving her was a great worry we're now delighted that we went ahead and that she's now receiving the care and attention she needs.

My brother-in-law was originally in another care home after five months in hospital and losing his leg muscles due to hospital staff not bothering to get him out of the bed. However, as soon as he entered Richden Park, this was changed and he was encouraged to get up and walk around the home, also his
personal care etc was well taken care of, and him being again encouraged to help himself which in turn also helped his mental health. After a few weeks in the home, he was walking without assistance and even going to the dining room and mixing with other people there. After four weeks after entering the home, he decided he wanted to be back with his dog and decided he felt well enough and able to return home. The staff all seemed very attentive and well-led even though there had obviously been a change in management. Every day the staff checked on him at least once an hour and talked to him about his time as a deep-sea diver.

The most appalling place to put anyone with dementia in. On first meeting the manager she was rude and aggressive, to call it a care home for my sister is a joke, there is little care for her. They have made it more than plain they cannot be bothered and would like her out. I have had to contact Social
Servies to try and get them to put in some effort. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

My mother was in Richden Park for 6 weeks after breaking her hip. She was never out of bed as she could not walk. The care of her every day was very good. She was washed, changed and never left for long periods, they came in regularly to ensure she ate and drank and to see she was alright. All the staff
were very kind and helpful with everything relating to mum.

My sister-in-law moved to Richden Park in November 2019. It was chosen because of the sitting rooms they were nice and spacious, well decorated, clean and the staff were friendly on our inspection. The CQC also gave a good review. I have since found my judgement was correct. Everyone is friendly the
staff are well organised and the meals are freshly cooked. Rooms are always clean and well kept. My sister-in-law has settled in very well. The manager who runs the home is always available congratulations.

All the carers and staff were very good, nothing was too much trouble for them even though Mum had a short time in the home, they looked after her needs to the end. They sat with her when we were not there, even throughout the night and one particular carer even came in on her day off. Such a close
bonded home, they were all like family.
I could not wish for better care for my mum during her last days. Excellent people. I would highly recommend the home and staff.

I am extremely thankful to the manager and her polite attentive staff. They all could not do enough for the residents. When I was there beside my mother, the staff would always ask if I was OK and did I want anything while visiting. It was a pleasure to be there.

My father has been in there for a year now. During that time a good caring care home has got even better. Their greatest assets are the staff. It is a very hard job but they are brilliant. From the excellent chefs and carers to the Managers. Pay them more!

My review is that the care home is clean and well run. The staff are great. My only concern at times is there is not enough staff on duty at some times. The rooms are clean and the food is good.

I visited an old family friend many times over the last few months and have always found Richden Park to be a happy friendly home. The staff are always welcoming and all the people that live there seem happy. The cleaners do a good job and the home looks and smells clean. The food always looks nice.

My mum has been a resident at Richden Park for just over a year. The staff are very caring and reliable. The only thing I would pick up on is boredom. They have arranged activities every day which is very good, but in between it would be nice if a selection of newspapers/magazines were provided. The
television is on constantly but not always on a programme that is particularly entertaining (usually Sky News!).
