Dad so enjoys the delicious meals that are served each lunchtime. He enjoys his word search puzzles and playing bingo.

Everything I want just have to ask & they get it for me. Always somebody there if I want them. Help me in every way. Room always tidy and clean. Always a choice at meal times.
Hi, Thank you very much for your kind review. Many Thanks,
First Class.
Hi Colin, Thank you very much for your review. Many Thanks.
When it became clear after my dementia diagnosis that I would need full time care we visited a number of care homes, the result for me was a clear decision that Alba Rose was the place for me. Two years down the line I am still pleased I chose Alba Rose.
Thank you very much for your Lovely review. It is very much appreciated. Kind Regards,
What strikes me most about Alba Rose is the staff. Without exception I have found it to be helpful, patient and long-suffering however exacting my requests. My room is larger then I had expected and with the sloping roof attractive. The view incorporating trees, rockery and three sheep adds to my relaxation. Although activities ratings is lower I do appreciate that with such disparity between patients, both physically and cognitively, this must involve a constant problem.
Hi Angela, Thank you very for much for your feedback. This is very much appreciated. Kind Regards,
I visit a friend weekly and have done for the past 2 years. I help her with financial documents etc. I have always recommended Alba Rose to anyone as it is such a wonderful place and facilities.
Thank you so much for your kind words and feedback. It is very much appreciated. Kind Regards.
I have been taking my husband to Alba Rose for the last six weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays. The staff are brilliant, helpful, caring and remember your name! The activities run by a particular staff member in the morning and afternoon are really good. Clients are not left on their own with nothing to do but sleep!
Dear Anne, Thank you so much for your really helpful review. I am sure the staff and management team at Alba Rose will really appreciate your positive feedback about the care we give at Alba Rose.
The care of the staff was 5 star, nothing was any bother to them. I had a lovely room, was very impressed with the care that was given to everybody.
Thank you very much for your kind review. It was a pleasure to have you at Alba Rose.
Kind Regards,
Tanya
The staff seem friendly and kind.
The food seems very good, and although it is a small home, they appear to have activities most days.
Kind Regards.
I cannot praise Alba Rose and every single member of the team highly enough! My 93-year-old mother was reluctant to leave her own home, where she was struggling to manage, so we eased her into Alba Rose gradually with daycare and then onto being a full-time resident. Every single member of the team helped make this a fairly easy transition, and now Mum would not like to be anywhere else. She looks forward now to each new day and never feels lonely or isolated anymore, and, more importantly, for her and her family, she is and feels very safe. Who would have thought that at the age of 93, you can have a new lease on life... Alba Rose has made that possible!
Kind Regards.
I have been very pleased and impressed with the care and thoughtfulness shown towards my mother (Who passed away in Alba Rose in October 2022) and my father (still a resident and 95 years old) since they called Alba Rose home in December 2020. The management and all of the carers have shown wonderful patience, love and understanding to both of my parents. They have also shown tremendous respect and thoughtfulness and been helpful, without complaint, to both myself, my sister, and other relatives and friends who have visited Alba Rose. Communication is brilliant, and the attention to detail is faultless. My parents really could not have been in a better place.
Kind regards.
I feel so blessed to have my precious mum close by and to know that she is content, safe and being well cared for and that I can see her whenever I choose.
Thank you very much for such a lovely review. I appreciate your kind words and will pass this on to all the staff.
Kind Regards,
It was a huge change for her (and me) but the management and staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and understanding.
She receives fantastic care from all departments including, housekeeping, brilliant home-cooked meals, medicinal care, daily activities, and organised trips and events all overseen by a great management team.
Grandma is not the easiest sometimes but the staff do their upmost to keep her upbeat and bring the best out in her.
At 91 I hope she has many more years to come at Alba Rose.
Thank you to all the staff.
Kind Regards.
The food is brilliant and there is a broad programme of activities to appeal to all tastes and abilities. The grounds are lovely (but secure) and residents are encouraged to take advantage of them. Any medical issues are acted upon promptly. The management team is very hands-on and approachable; they know the residents as well as any of the other staff. Alba Rose is a small care home where all the staff, no matter what their role, interact with residents and relatives - nobody walks past without at least saying hello.
Thank you very much for your lovely comments. It's lovely to hear so many positive experiences you have had so far.
I am very happy with the care my mother is receiving from Alba Rose. The pleasant atmosphere in this home is very uplifting, the staff seem very caring and happy in their work. The residents have lots of activities to look forward to throughout the day as well as many outings. My mother has settled in very well and it is a joy to see her so happy. Well done to all the staff and thank you for the care you give to my mother.
Thank you very much for your lovely comments. Very much appreciated.
Thanks also for the trips out arranged for the residents where their families are welcome to join them. We even had an afternoon in a local pub playing dominoes last week! It is lovely to see the residents enjoying a slice of normal life and it is also a boost for their families to join in.
Thank you for your lovely comments. It is a pleasure to care for your mum. I am thrilled to hear you enjoyed the trip to the local pub and look forward to future outings as well.
Kindest regards.
My mother-in-law was only with Alba Rose for a week, so I only had three or four visits myself. But it seems like an excellent care home.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, we really enjoy providing both long and short-stay care for the people of North Yorkshire and I know the staff at Alba Rose always go above and beyond to welcome our new residents and their loved ones. I am so pleased this was your experience also. Please do not hesitate should we be able to be of any assistance to you or your family in the future.
Always seemed a happy and homely atmosphere when we visited, especially over the Coronation weekend. Dad says everyone was kind and pleasant.
Thank you for being so flexible and helpful when were trying to sort care out in a hurry.
Dear Rebecca, thank you for your lovely review I am so pleased the team at Alba Rose Care Home were able to assist in your father’s respite care. We are always here for you, should you need us in the future.
Reluctant resident transformed into a happy resident due to caring staff!

Meet the Team (1)

Claire previously worked as a cook in cafes and as a school dinner lady before coming to Alba Rose seven and a half years ago.
That experience stood Claire in good stead for the demanding but rewarding task of providing great, home-cooked meals to residents with a wide variety of personal preferences and dietary needs.
“Mealtimes are something that residents do look forward to and so it is very important that we give them something that they are going to enjoy,” says Claire.
She is trained in providing food in a care setting, which includes catering for those with special dietary needs and those with dementia,
“I also make it my business to know the residents and to understand what they like and don’t like – this is their home after all and you wouldn’t cook yourself something you don’t like, would you?
“Whether it is different choices of vegetables, portion sizes or whatever, we cater for all of their tastes to ensure they get the meal they want.”
Claire describes the food as traditional home cooking that is determined by the residents.
“We try different things from time to time and if they like it, it will stay on the menu,” she says. “At the end of the day it is the residents that decide what they want to have and that is how it should be.”
There is a choice but if a resident doesn’t fancy any of the options that day, Claire is always happy to make something different.
“As long as they are happy, I’m happy,” she adds. “I’ve had a good day if someone says, ‘thank you, I’ve enjoyed my lunch’ – that means a lot.”
