Lifestyles is a home for up to nineteen people with mental health and learning disabilities, schizophrenia, bipolar, personality disorders.

It is situated five minutes away from York city centre, which has great amenities, is close to the race course, and importantly has great access for travel links to all major towns and cities.

Lifestyles has a Good CQC rating (Sept 2022). The home has a dedicated staff team and a great set of residents, with a very warm and friendly atmosphere. They excel in delivering holistic, person-centred care and have a positive success with all their residents.

They offer in-house activities and work closely with community links for courses and social inclusion. The home provides regular social events with friends, family and neighbours.

They have an open door policy and warmly welcome any visitors or enquiries.

My son has been living under the care of the above home and he is happy, settled and feels very safe. The care given is high quality and they address his various needs. When I go and visit the staff always answer my questions and they always give me their views about his problems if applicable. The
home is clean, nice and warm in cold weather. My son is happy he can always ask for help if he feels he needs advice or help.

I find the staff to be caring and easy to get along with. My brother always appears to be happy and never really has a reason to complain. He has been in care for many years and being at Lifestyles has been very good for his well being and peace of mind.

Lifestyles is what all residential homes should aspire to be like. It is a place of warmth, compassion, respect and care, not just to residents but to families too, the manager and staff are full of genuine care. I only wish they had been in existence many years ago when my relative first became ill.
Nothing is too much trouble and the level of professionalism is second to none.

The staff are all really extremely good at listening to you and you always get really good advice that is relevant. They find us ways of mixing in with the community and take me out in the wheelchair if the weather is good.
They're helping me to eat healthily and diet as I'm far too big but in a nice
way.
I really like living here, it's my home. My family are always welcome and can ask the manager anything they like about how I' getting on. She's fantastic.

Hi, I started at Lifestyles from leaving school (yes it was a long time ago) as I always had an innate tendency to help people, I like to say that helping one person may not change the world but it could change that one person's world. I like to spend my free time out of work with my children, having days at the beach and walks in the woods. I became deputy in 2009 and chose to attend college later in life to access knowledge that would help me to provide an understanding of my work from a different perspective and hopefully help me in providing the best possible care I can. I love to listen to music and have fun, I am often described at work as the "animated life and soul of the party" which I believe makes for relaxed and happy surroundings, of course ensuring all individual's happiness and safety within professional boundaries.
