Ivy Lodge “where you feel at home… not in a home”: This is a motto at the heart of the home’s philosophy. A caring team understand how worrying and stressful it can be to move into a new home but they work with residents and their families to help them settle in whilst at the same time encouraging them to lead an independent life around the dignified, compassionate and person...

There are no negative odours when entering Ivy Lodge, which speaks for itself. The interior and exterior are very well presented with loving care. My mum can and does thank her lucky stars that she is "at home" in Ivy Lodge.
It would be my personal choice any day.
Well done to the whole team for creating a unique, caring, homely establishment.
Thank you so much for your kind words. As I hope you know, we love looking after your mum; she is delightful!
The home and grounds at Ivy Lodge are immaculate and well maintained. It is obvious that a great deal of finance is ploughed into the business to keep things at such a high standard.
The care itself is of the highest quality and delivered with great compassion and understanding.
I am fully aware that my mother could be difficult to deal with but at all times she was treated with care and respect by very patient and professional staff.
I hope when my turn comes I can find somewhere like Ivy Lodge.
Thank you Sue - really appreciate your comments. We enjoyed looking after your mum and getting to know you - you know where we are when your time comes!
My mum moved into Ivy Lodge in February 2020 just before Covid restrictions. The care our mum has received has been second to none. Having watched the videos and pictures of all the in house activities and entertainment arranged and carried out by the staff, totally brilliant! Ivy Lodge has managed Mum's health extremely well and has also been able to help her gain weight which she desperately needed. We cannot praise everyone at Ivy Lodge enough for the outstanding level of care.
Thank you so much for your positive review of Ivy Lodge and the staff - I will ensure they are aware of your comments which I'm sure will help them to keep up the good work through this trying time.
They have been wonderful and accommodating from him going to view, to moving in, to living there for the last 6 months.
The owners, management and staff are brilliant.
Always keeping us relatives updated on anything we need to know. They are cautious, careful yet realistic in their management of covid.
My dad loves it, he is always raving about the wonderful staff, how good the food is, and his lovely big room. Residents have loads to do if they want to join in or can sit in the quiet lounge and read. Also, a lovely enclosed garden if you like a bit of fresh air.
I and my sister feel so grateful to have found somewhere so wonderful for our dad at what was probably the most distressing time we had been through as a family.
Ivy Lodge ... You're fab xx thank you xx
Thanks for your really kind words Karen; it's a great boost to all the team who have worked so hard over the last couple of years to hear how much they are appreciated!
We were worried about Mum going into a care home, especially in the present times but we had heard such good reports about Ivy Lodge and we were lucky that a room was available just at the right time. We had no need to be concerned, Ivy Lodge is a lovely place, it’s homely, spotlessly clean, very caring and all the staff we met were the same. Nothing was too much trouble and Mum wasn’t just looked after she was made to feel part of “a family”. Mum was a little apprehensive going into a care home because a long time ago someone she knew had a difficult experience in one, however, she herself said she was so pleased to have experienced Ivy Lodge as she couldn’t fault it and she felt cared for and looked after. All the staff she saw made her feel secure and safe. The inside of Ivy Lodge is cosy with lovely furnishings and the residents' rooms are the same with fresh flowers regularly being brought in. We would have no hesitation in recommending Ivy Lodge to anyone.
Thank you for your very kind words - it's always encouraging for the staff to know how well they are doing their job and that they are appreciated. We really enjoyed looking after your Mum and wish her well with her continued recovery.
Having worried about putting my mother into a care home in January we now all look back and think this has been the best thing to happen to her. My mother is happy, relaxed and feels totally at home in Ivy Lodge. The care is wonderful and all the carers are attentive and friendly and she thrives on the day to day contact with a variety of people. The food is really good and my mother always informs me when I ring that she's had a lovely day so what more could you ask for. Would certainly recommend Ivy Lodge to anyone looking for a "home from home".
As soon as you enter the building you notice a friendly, ‘homely’ atmosphere, so different from the ‘institution’ feeling I’ve experienced on visiting other care homes.
A full programme of wide-ranging activities, visiting entertainers and trips out has obviously been suspended, but all staff have gone above and beyond in organising and participating in in-house events ranging from their own choir to a beach party, as illustrated on Facebook.
Communication with residents’ families is excellent and overall Mam could not be better cared or catered for.
I would highly recommend Ivy Lodge to any prospective resident.
Ivy Lodge is a happy, caring and friendly home. I have complete peace of mind knowing that my mother is well cared for.
Everywhere in the home is immaculately clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortable.
The meals are freshly cooked on the premises and smell delicious. Mum has put some weight back on through having such good food and is feeling much better and stronger as a result.
There are lots of activities to get involved in such as singing, exercises to music, crafts, flower arranging, painting, quizzes and trips out to keep the residents entertained.
The manager and deputy manager are very helpful with any questions or concerns that I may have.
I feel very lucky that Mum is in such a wonderful home and grateful for the excellent care she receives.
My family and I would like to thank the staff at Ivy Lodge for the care, respect and attention they gave to our Aunt during her stay with them. The home is clean, well maintained and welcoming to both their guest and their family. Ivy Lodge puts the "care" into care home. Thank you.
This really is a home from home and the whole Team go that extra mile every minute of every day to make sure there’s dignity, chuckles and smiles and exceptional care 24/7.
The activities/ entertainment are very good with lots of opportunities for outings etc so no excuse for being bored here!
The facilities are excellent and we couldn’t wish for Mum to be anywhere better and Mum is very happy and content here.
Ivy Lodge feels like a home with a beating heart. The staff are all kind, helpful and flexible - nothing is too much trouble and I'm treated as an individual. Ivy Lodge is welcoming to visitors and family alike. I'm encouraged to go out with my family, but at the same time, there are lots of activities organised by the home if I wish to participate. I have a nice room of my own and the food is good.
They always call me with any change, concerns or if Mum has said something and they need clarification.
Fabulous place and spotlessly clean.
Dad has been resident since April 2019. It did take him a while to adjust (let's face it, leaving your home/familiar surroundings and his fantastic neighbours is a very daunting experience) but the staff at Ivy Lodge are one in a million - very dedicated and a warm, close-knit team. They do everything in their power to accommodate Dad and always go that extra mile. A very warm, clean, comfortable place - home from home feel with smells of home-made cooking, freshly made desserts and cakes - amazing! An added bonus!
Since arriving at Ivy Lodge on 30/5/19 I have received excellent care and attention and made very welcome. Being a diabetic, diet is important, and this is strictly carried out with excellent meals, resulting in improvement in my health. There are activities to suit everyone, and regular outings etc. Cleanliness is a priority and excellent rooms are regularly cleaned. Washing and laundry service is available. Every need is met.
Mum had been very isolated prior to her moving to Ivy Lodge and very anxious, but the staff are wonderful, extremely caring and have really helped her to rediscover her concern and empathy for others, it's lovely to see. The activity programme of activities has helped to enrich her life also. The craft bowls has been a great success as she has always had good hands/eye coordination. I do think she feels happier now than she has done for years.
As there are only 34 residents the home has a more personal and family atmosphere and is always clean and fresh with no unpleasant odours.
All staff are personally selected, not agency, and are friendly and caring, treating the residents with dignity and kindness, including the management, who are very much hands-on and not invisible. Any queries or requests are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
There is a varied and imaginative programme of activities and outings which are managed safely and efficiently and, most importantly, with fun and laughter. One-to-one time is available if requested and suggestions and involvement from family and friends is welcomed and encouraged.
My elderly mother has lived in Ivy Lodge for over 2 years, and during my many visits, I am always so impressed by the genuine care that is so evident from the staff towards the residents, who are treated with respect and dignity. It is evident from the home's atmosphere and culture, that both the owners and the staff are committed to the well-being of all the residents. This reflected too in the varied programme of activities and visits, designed to engage and stimulate the residents.
I have been very pleased with the care provided at Ivy Lodge. The staff are very caring, efficient, friendly, professional and hard working. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful home for my mother, who enjoys living at Ivy Lodge, due to the excellent care provided and the lovely homely environment.
