Ivy Lodge “where you feel at home… not in a home”: This is a motto at the heart of the home’s philosophy. A caring team understand how worrying and stressful it can be to move into a new home but they work with residents and their families to help them settle in whilst at the same time encouraging them to lead an independent life around the dignified, compassionate and person...

Such a lovely care home. As soon as you walk in it feels friendly. Staff are always welcoming and the extra time and attention given to residents for birthdays etc is unbelievable. Beautiful birthday cakes are made and the resident is made to feel cared for and special on their birthday. Lots of activities available. It is the nearest you could get to home. I have experienced several homes and this one stands head and shoulders above the rest.
Thanks for your kind words which I will ensure are seen by all the staff who try so hard to give our residents the best care possible
My Mum has lived at Ivy Lodge for ten months. She was made very welcome from the beginning, nothing is too much trouble. She has settled there, and is very well cared for.The staff and management are kind, caring and are respectful of their residents.. The food is of good quality but if Mum doesn't fancy what's on offer the kitchen will always find an alternative. Daily activities are offered and residents birthdays are always marked with homemade cake and birthday tea. I would highly recommend Ivy Lodge it really is first class.
Thank you for your positive review and feedback, much appreciated.
My mam Pauline, had carer's at home. Wasn't working well. Me mam decided herself she wanted to move into Ivy Lodge, which was recommended to us by a lot of people. Me mam is really happy there. She joins in all the activities she can. She loves the domino's. Really enjoys the days out they have. All the management and staff are really hardworking. Nothing is to much trouble for them. I now know my mam is really looked after and cared for.
Thanks Lorraine, we're so pleased so mum is settled and happy in Ivy Lodge
My auntie has been a resident for over six years. She settled in straight away. I see her regularly and have never heard her complain bout anything. Always seems happy and joins in with the good and varied activities. Enjoys the trips out with the other residents. Nothing seems too much trouble for staff/management who are always friendly and helpful.
Thanks for your kind words. I will ensure all the staff see it!
Excellent in everything in all I ask of them.
5 years here? The first 3 very happy and enjoyed it all. Getting older and I am content. Happy and relaxed here.
I was having carers at home for half an hour daily but after a bad fall needed more help so came to Ivy Lodge on trial. I have now been here from November 2022 to April 2024. The overall service is very good. The hard-working and friendly staff are led by the owners who are seen around much of the time. Wonderful birthday cakes for each resident are made, each decorated with their interests in icing. Nutritious meals home cooked are provided three times a day. We are very well cared for.
I came here in April and I must say I am very happy here everyone is very nice and kind. The staff and management are lovely.
The best and most important thing about Ivy Lodge is its staff. Ivy Lodge had been recommended to me by several people but it has exceeded my expectations. All the staff are incredibly kind and caring. Mum is exceptionally well cared for and always treated with respect. Access to a GP is easy. There is always something going on and if mum doesn't like what is on the menu the kitchen staff will find an alternative. I can't fault Ivy Lodge.
Thank you for your very kind words - we do have great staff but our life is made so much easier by having such lovely residents and relatives (especially those who keep me supplied with Werther's originals!)
We are delighted with the care mom is given. She is the happiest she has been in years. The staff are so lovely and the entertainment is fantastic. The food and refreshments go down a treat.
Thanks for your review and kind words. I will make sure all staff are made aware of your comments.
I could not be happier with the care given to my mum. The staff from top to bottom are exceptional, always a smile and eager to help. It is very homely and comfortable and I have peace of mind that my mum is well looked after.
Thank you for your kind words which i will share with all the staff team.
Ivy Lodge is a very good residential home. We are well looked after and the entertainment is good, generally trips out. The food is excellent. The staff are cheerful and very happy. The home is always clean. Everyone is friendly.
As a family, we could not find a negative word to say about Ivy Lodge.
Our mum is very happy here.
From my point of view, I am totally reassured that Mum is in a safe, caring place, and I know she is being well looked after,
Thanks for your positive review, Lynn. Your mum is always really cheerful - she is a total pleasure to have around!
I was looking for a care home for my mum, and from the moment that I began talking to Ivy Lodge, I knew that she would enjoy staying there. The staff have a great attitude towards all the residents, looking after them with care and dignity. Since moving in, my mum has told me how much she loves the community feeling and all the activities that are planned for the residents. She also tells me that the food is fantastic, and the care she receives is first-class.
Thank you for your review and your kind words - I will pass on your comments to all the staff, including the kitchen!
Over the last 9 months that my mum has resided at Ivy Lodge, they have consistently provided excellent service. Mum is a fussy individual, and to keep her happy, they must be doing it right! I can not praise them enough, and in particular, Mum is always complimentary about the quality of the food! So if you want peace of mind that your relative or friend will be well cared for, then look no further than Ivy Lodge.
It's a good week for the kitchen as they got 100% when inspected by environmental health during breakfast service at the beginning of the week!
She joins in with the various daily activities, and never do the staff miss an opportunity to hold a party or event for residents to enjoy and participate in.
The environment is warm, homely and accessible for her and Mum has been helped to create her own personalised space in her bedroom.
I have been most impressed with how she now feels safe; the move has increased not decreased her mobility and independence.
Thank you; your mum is great company with a wonderful sense of humour! She is really popular with all the residents and staff, and we are so happy that she seems to be thriving here.
Covid was especially difficult for any care home, but their strong dedication to the welfare of the residents and staff meant that we were able to see our loved ones safely, and the home filled a strict Covid procedure at all times.
A big thank you once again for all the love, care and support you give to my dad.
Thanks for those very kind words, Amanda; it's a huge pleasure to look after your dad. It's great to have a few fellas in the home again and it gives me the chance to talk sport with them!
Ivy Lodge is very much a home from home. The owners and staff are some of the most caring and friendly people that I have ever met. The home always has something going on, be it carpet bowls, movement to music or craft activities. There never seems to be a dull moment. I have heard that the food is pretty good too, and they certainly throw a good Birthday party!
Thanks for your kind comments, Becky; it's very much appreciated.
I have been delighted by the care the home has shown my mum since she moved there in February 22. From the moment I entered Ivy Lodge, I was struck by the friendliness, welcome and care for detail that I encountered. The complexity of having to move from Nottingham after 70-years, during a period of Covid, was sensitively dealt with and was much appreciated. I feel that the staff are really trying to get to know Mum and her needs on an individual level. Everyone always seems so incredibly friendly and cheerful, even when faced with such difficult pressures at the present time. The management of the home is excellent and well established whilst the owners are welcoming and play an important role in the varied activity programme that Mum has really started to enjoy and appreciate. All individuals, from the carers to the cook, are just lovely! Everyone seems to genuinely care. To have her so close and well looked after has made such a difference in my life. Thank you.
We will continue to help her get the absolute maximum out of Ivy Lodge.
