Ivy Lodge “where you feel at home… not in a home”: This is a motto at the heart of the home’s philosophy. A caring team understand how worrying and stressful it can be to move into a new home but they work with residents and their families to help them settle in whilst at the same time encouraging them to lead an independent life around the dignified, compassionate and person...

Both the manager and her deputy are very helpful with any questions or concerns that you may have in regard to care etc.
The rooms are well maintained, airy and kept very clean due to the hard working cleaners.
The residents are regularly entertained and engaged with various types of activities ranging from sing songs, visits out, various demonstrations and the local nursery children who come to share painting and games.
My mum is receiving 1st class care in a home that provides outstanding service. My mum loves the home and does not want ever to move. My husband and I are pleased she is in a safe environment. The staff are ever willing to help her to enjoy life to the full.
I visit Ivy Lodge very regularly and find it always like visiting a country hotel. Welcoming atmosphere. The hallway theme changes regularly which adds to the visit. The rooms are always clean and tidy and there is no smell, which often accompanies residential homes. The staff are always welcoming and very approachable and offer tea and coffee if your visit coincides. They are attentive to residents' needs and very thoughtful to them. There is plenty of stimulation for residents with suitable entertainment, family and friends are encouraged. A home from home, inclusive.
Mum was a district nurse and visited Ivy Lodge in this capacity and regularly commented that this was where she would like to be if/when the time came she needed care. After a series of falls at her own home, it became obvious that Mum would be safer in a care home environment with somebody available 24/7 to help her. We successfully managed to secure a place at Ivy Lodge and Mum has now settled in. The owners and staff have created a lovely, homely environment and the care and attention is second to none. 10/10.
My mum has been in Ivy Lodge for a few months now. From the moment we walked in the door we knew it was the one for mum. So welcoming fresh, clean, beautifully decorated and staff so friendly and professional. The rooms are so tastefully decorated and homely. Food is excellent with such a lovely variety. Some kind of entertainment of crafts most weekday afternoons and trips out. Would highly recommend.
The staff are helpful, caring and are always making themselves available for any assistance that people in the home require.
Visitors, as well as residents, are always made welcome.
I am very happy with the care my mother currently receives, she has taken a few months to settle in and with the kindness, understanding and support of the care staff, she seems more settled. With the support she receives with her daily living mum is always presented as she always was, including her weekly visit to the hairdresser. The staff are welcoming and friendly to family and visitors and keep us informed of any changes.
I really like Ivy Lodge, it is a very homely place for my husband to stay at. The staff and facilities are excellent as is the care.
Last year my 95-year-old Grandma needed to go into a home. As soon as we visited Ivy Lodge I knew we had found the right place. It's lovely - warm and clean, very welcoming. The staff go above and beyond to care for the residents. It is very well managed and run well with everyone's care addressed. Everyone is treated with dignity. It's spotless and it doesn't have that old people's home smell as soon as you walk through the door. My Grandma is very special to me and her needing to go into a home was heartbreaking but us choosing Ivy Lodge was the right choice. It's like home from home and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new home for their loved ones.
The staff are all very friendly and readily assist when assistance is requested - both for the resident and family/friends visiting.
The staff promote the independence of the resident as much as possible but are at the end of a call bell when needed.
Relatives are kept informed when mother is unwell or in need fo anything that the home does not provide.
It took my mother several months to settle into life at Ivy lodge but I am pleased to say my mother now views it as her home. All members of staff have been brilliant and have been very supportive. The corridors are pretty narrow and the dining room quite small but apart from this, I cannot think of anything negative to say.
Residents meetings are held regularly to discuss any problems that may have arisen. There are three lounges for our use: the TV lounge, the sun lounge for socialising etc and a small lounge - the library lounge with a TV, books and magazines. Activities are held most afternoons which include various crafts, visitings artists and outings mainly during the summer months. Visits to a local theatre are arranged, visiting hairdressers, manicurists and chiropodists looking after our needs. Meals are well cooked, varied and served in a light and airy dining room, tables mainly set for four.
As a visitor, I always find Ivy Lounge to be spotlessly clean with attentive and helpful staff. The residents enjoy well furnished and comfortable recreational areas.
Since moving into Ivy Lodge almost a year ago, my Mum has been looked after by caring, friendly, sympathetic and understanding staff. The atmosphere is friendly, cosy and homely. Myself and all of Mum's family and friends are made very welcome whenever we visit. Ivy Lodge is exceptional in that every thought and care for the residents and their families is uppermost in the priorities of all the staff.
A warm, bright and comfortable home. Staff are cheerful and very much in evidence. Ivy Lodge has several seating areas, a jigsaw was out on the table for anyone to participate. Books and newspapers are available. A Christmas fair attracts visitors and there are other various activities arranged for residents and their families. The security requests visitors to sign in with car registration noted. Staff always knock on bedrooms and these are well equipped allowing residents to have their own personal items. Food is said to be varied and good, with menus delivered to each room. Tea, coffee and biscuits are offered to visitors. The grounds are well maintained and the attractive entrance hall welcoming and beautifully decorated with flower arrangements.
The home is very caring and comfortable with staff who take a personal interest in the welfare of the residents. My mother is not the easiest of people to deal with but everyone makes every effort to keep her positive. I have no reservations in recommending this home to anyone considering where a relative should enjoy their later years.
It is obvious that the owners have put their hearts and souls into making Ivy Lodge as attractively appointed as possible to resemble "home from home". It is spotless and free from odours and equally important is the quality fo the carers who appear to really care for the residents who also enjoy excellent meals, activities, outings and if wanted shopping trips. Visitors are warmly welcomed at any time. A recent health crisis was handled with calm efficiency. I heartedly recommend Ivy Lodge.
I have visited the home infrequently but on the occasions I have been, the residents have appeared happy and well looked after. There have been a variety of activities going on and the home looks and feels welcoming - flower arrangements, light and bright.
I have never been aware of the smell of urine and the tables and chairs in the dining area are clean and free of stickiness and remains of meals. Likewise the soft furnishings and carpets. The residents are allowed to use the telephone whenever they wish.
My mother was admitted to Ivy Lodge straight from hospital following a fall. Since arriving there she has improved enormously thanks to the excellent care she receives. Her mobility is much improved as she is encouraged to walk to the dining room from the lounge and back many times during the day. The carers are always lovely with her- caring, encouraging and gentle yet respectful of privacy where possible. They could be more helpful in anyway. The food is excellent all cooked on the premises. It is a varied menu and the portions are just right for each individuals needs. There are activities on nearly every day which the residents are encouraged to join. They are also taken out to local National Trust properties or stately homes and also to the theatre. The local GP visits the home every week so he is asked to see any residents with a medical problem and his care is excellent. Medically the residents are observed very carefully and the GP is asked to visit immediately if there is a problem. The management are extremely pleasant and very approachable.
In my experience of more than 7 years I find the home to be a small, sociable and friendly place. It is well looked after as are the residents with activities, caring staff looking after everyone well, the rooms are well decorated and the approach through the garden which is well kept give a welcoming atmosphere.
