I cannot fault the care my mam has received at Seahaven. The staff are warm, friendly and genuinely care about the residents. My mam is now receiving end of life care, and I am so pleased with how the staff are looking after her; she received excellent care and is treated with dignity and compassion. I'm so pleased we chose Seahaven for my mam and will be forever grateful to the carers and staff for looking after my mam so well.

My husband has Alzheimer's, and I am his full-time carer. He visits Seahaven for respite on a regular basis. I love the fact that I can drop him off at Seahaven, and he will be well taken care of. Such a stress relief for me. They treat him as an individual with his own likes and dislikes, his own needs and desires. I like the respite to be 2-3 days, and Seahaven is the one place I found who does the short breaks... most would only do 7-days. The décor is bright and airy, and there's always a pleasant atmosphere. The room is basic, but he isn't full-time, so it's to be expected. I just love the way they treat him. We now call his times there his 'holiday', and he goes and comes home happy.

My dad went into Seahaven on the 17th of July 2020, and I am very impressed by the caring, helpful staff who have settled him in very quickly. He came from the hospital and is self-isolating, but when I speak to him on the phone, he sounds very happy and content. The manager has been amazing every time I ring up (every day).

I have visited this care home weekly for at least two months and found the staff extremely pleasant and friendly. I have observed the residents being treated with kindness and dignity. The recreation facilities are catered to the age and ability of the residents taking part. I am well pleased by the observations I noted on different visits.

My sister has been a resident here since 13th December 2018. I have made visits here at various times of the day and always found the staff very friendly and helpful. They involve the residents in various sorts of activities to stimulate them eg exercises, games, singalongs. The bedrooms all seem nice and clean and are adapted for their needs. The food always seems nice and appetising.

From the moment I met the manager, staff and residents at Seahaven I knew my father, who has dementia and mobility issues was going to be cared for to a high standard. He has only been at Seahaven a matter of weeks, he has settled really well. His behaviour can be challenging at times but he is always treated with care, compassion, patience and dignity. They know him so well already. You are made welcome whatever time you visit. How comforting it is to know he is being well taken care of. Thank you to you all.

Review from Robert H (Brother of Resident) published on 2 January 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My sister has been in this home for a number of years, being admitted when her husband was no longer able to provide care. She had become increasingly unable to converse and her movements are limited and is now confined to being chair-bound.
Her needs have increased during this time to include 100% requirement to help with feeding and personal needs.
I am familiar with the challenges of running a care home relating to staffing and funding, having previously managed a 72 bed home with 120 + residents.
I, therefore, bring a critical eye to the facility and care provided whilst being aware of the challenges.
This home has always provided cheery service and demonstrated a caring approach.
During the last year the physical appearance of the home has been significantly upgraded, cheerfully (and cost-effectively) decorated and the staff standards, which already quite good, further reset.

The staff are plainly led well and demonstrate a cheerful, caring welcoming and competent approach.

We had a great time for Halloween. Our activities co-ordinator was dressed as a goblin, she looked great.

The pumpkin we had carved was judged and the best one won a prize, and to top it all we had a singer, singing songs we could all sing along too.

What a great afternoon.

I visited the home twice a day for one week. I was very impressed with the quality of care. The food menu is varied, healthy and delicious. Regular snacks and cups of tea. The staff are amazing and dedicated to their work. Really feel that my mother is in good hands. The people who take care of our loved ones with dementia and other challenges deserve a medal. My thanks go out to them!

Staff are excellent with all residents, since the change in management some much needed cash has been spent to smarten up public areas.

The level of love and care towards the residents is unchanged and has always been of the highest standard.

The home itself, although originally was tired and dated, has benefitted hugely to continued updating which has now provided a modern, airy and homely environment. Improved activity and resident stimulation help keep everybody occupied and hopefully happy. If the families weren't happy I'm sure their relatives and loved ones would be placed elsewhere.
