Cannot thank ALL of the staff enough for the genuine warm care they gave to our very frail elderly uncle for the short period of time he was there.
They all helped to make a very emotionally stressful time so much easier. To know that he felt supported and cared for was a great comfort to us. The
staff did all and more to facilitate his needs with humour and kindness.
If you're looking for care for your loved one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kenilworth. Thank you all so much for all you did.

Mam was booked in for respite as I was having an operation, but she was poorly the week before and was admitted to the hospital. I was out of action, so Kenilworth took over completely and liaised with the hospital until Mam was discharged into their care, taking all the worry off my shoulders.

Put my mam in for a short respite and was very satisfied with the way staff were with my mam. She seemed to think they were all very kind and helpful to her. The Head Manager was very reassuring to me leaving her there and that was very helpful to me leaving her there.

Kenilworth is like a home from home for my mother. The staff are all very kind and caring. The home is clean and run very efficiently. I never worry about Mam as I know she is very well looked after and care for. They all take time with her to make her feel safe and happy. The food is all homemade and
they try so hard to make sure she has a meal she enjoys. The friendliest staff I feel like we have known them for years. Excellent place!

I think that my mother, who has Alzheimer's and is quite frail, is very well cared for. The manager and staff are effective, caring and professional. They respond well to changes in Mum's condition, ensuring medical reviews when needed and admission if necessary. They treat Mum as an individual, with
humour, and she clearly likes them. As a family, we feel secure that Mum is there.

From the moment my mother-in-law arrived at Kelinworth she has been treated with respect and extremely well looked after. The services provided by all the staff have been superb and she has been given a new lease of life. She is enjoying things more than she has in a very long time and this is down
to the staff.

A few years ago, my aunt was at Kenilworth, and now my father is a resident. Kenilworth is smaller than a lot of homes I have had experience of, and therefore it does have a more friendly, intimate and indeed homely atmosphere. The first thing you note as you arrive is the smell of home cooking from
the kitchen, the voices, and usually, laughter, The care from all the staff is exceptional, from the handyman right up to the manager. The manager I know has been at Kenilworth since my aunt was there - she is outstanding in her level of care, understanding and indeed, love for the residents and staff.

Due to ongoing COVID restrictions, I have only visited the pod.
My friend certainly looks healthier and cleaner. The staff are extremely caring toward her.
My friend can be difficult.

My gran came into the home during covid 19.
We feel that if she never came in she would not be here now, the staff have gone above and beyond to keep her safe, she is well looked after. the lasses have even done their hair for them ie cutting it, curers and blow-drying.
She is always happy. They ring
us if there is a problem and they have even asked her if she would a glass of brandy on a night.
The staff are fantastic and the home is clean and tidy.

No comment as forwarded a complaint to safeguarding team and CQC to investigate. I have serious concerns over facilities, staff members, the management of the home overall. This resulted in me bringing my mam home early.
Reply from Sunny Humphreys, Owner at Kenilworth

The service user came to the home for one week’s respite because her care package has broken down but stayed for four weeks. The service user has three daughters and two sons and she lives in her house with one of the sons.
I would like to thank them for taking the time to bring their experiences to our attention. Whilst caring for our service users we strive to provide outstanding quality of care. If we get it wrong we hold our hands up and put it right. We are sorry that they feel the experiences within our establishment did not meet their expectations. This was given thorough investigation and communicated outcomes and lesson learned to the regulatory body Care Quality Commission (CQC).
It appears similar complaints have been made against other establishments.
We work with friends and families to provide care and support to their loved ones and as such the home has received many good reviews.

We were obviously concerned when my mother entered the care home, however, that was soon put aside by the friendly and professionalism we got from the manager. She leads a team who really care for the residents. They interact and care here for the residents when needed, both emotionally (especially
in these times with covid) and medically. My mother has formed a bond with the staff who have primary care over her, which gives her great confidence. We, as a family, can rest easy knowing that our mother is in safe hands.

I feel I can leave my 95-year-old mum in their care without any worries, as the staff and facilities are second to none, the manager has been sent from Heaven. We can see what goes on on their Facebook page, and I couldn't be more pleased.

My mother has been in Kenilworth Care Home for just over 2 and a half years, although at first things were very strange and unsettling for her. All the staff made her and her family feel very welcome. Over time the staff have become like an extended family to her. We were so pleased that Mam could go
to a good care home that was local for family and friends to visit.

Excellent care given. Staff display empathy, concern and listen to resident/family regarding care and any problems/concerns highlighted. Warm, friendly environment. Food etc prepared on the premises, always fresh and appetising. Very clean and no smells evident. Staff/manager always approachable and
evident staff work as a team or ability to work autonomously. Mam is well cared for and no concerns regarding physical, emotional and mental health.

On arrival at Kenilworth, we were greeted in a very friendly manner by both Management and Staff.
Kenilworth is kept very clean and well presented. The residents are always well dressed, kept clean and the ladies and gentlemen's hair well groomed.
The food is amazing, there is always a wonderful,
appetizing aroma emanating from the kitchen. It is good to know that everything is freshly prepared and cooked on the premises. The residents are never left thirsty or hungry.
We were able to take our friend out to the local park.
The Residents rooms are well set out and nicely decorated. As is the rest of the care home. There are no obstacles to prevent the able-bodied residents from wandering back to their rooms.
We are very pleased with the safety/security of the residents. The staff go out of their way to assist the residents. There are ample toilet facilities.
We are very impressed with Kenilworth as a whole and would highly recommend it. It is also amazing value for money.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.071)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.071) out of 10 for Kenilworth is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.696 for Kenilworth is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 46 Ratings = 4.696
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.375 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kenilworth is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 20 registered maximum number of service users is 4, which has been reached with 4 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
