Holly Bank

Now there is too many staff to name and truthfully we don't know everyone's names yet, so ..

They both look so much better than they did before they came to hollybank. Not just physically but also mentally. They are both in brighter spirits and Always say they are happy at their home (hollybank).

We can't express how much of a relief from a families perspective it is that you care for them like you would care for your own. Hollybank really feels like a home away from home. It's obvious that all staff enjoy their jobs, even though you must face challenges on a daily basis, it's never obvious as your professional at all times.

Hollybank truly is a home away from home

My father has been staying at Holly Bank since the beginning of July 2026. Dad settled in very well with the help of the management and staff team. Dad has taken part in numerous activities such as trips out to the motor museum, weekly pub trips, outings in the local area. There is always something happening in the home. Singing, bowls, skittles, dancing, I think this is what had helped dad settle in so well. Fluids and food/snacks seems plentiful. Dad is encouraged to exercise choice (he has dementia). I think this is important and supported.

Our mum has now been at Holly Bank for 7 months and as a family we are so happy, as is mum, that we chose this amazing Care home for her to live in as a permanent resident. Everyone in our family are so thankful for all that the staff do to make each day so good for her. From her first day there, the amazing Manager Anna , and ALL her team were so thoughtful and genuinely caring of mum's needs and this has continued to be the case. As this is "uncharted territory" for us, it is so reassuring to know that all of her care is being carried out so superbly and professionally. Genuinely, nothing is too much trouble for them. We had no idea that there would be so much that mum could join in with, both at the home and off-site activities as well. There are such a variety of superb activities that are on offer to residents to stimulate them. A quick look on their Fccebook page, shows many of their recent events. My dad was only at Holly Bank for 3 weeks he was very well looked after and was getting settled in nicely and the staff were lovely & welcoming unfortunatley onhis last week there he passed away with pneumonia the staff went above & beyond to care for him and make his last days comfortable and pain free it really is a wonderful home.

It would not be possible to find a better home. I am so well cared for and the staff are 100% caring and considerate. I have been here 2 years and not one complaint. I consider myself lucky to be here.

My mum was cared for well, laundry was done and she felt settled and happy there. We would certainly use Holly Bank again.

As a family member, I couldn't be happier with the care my Mum receives. The staff at Hollybank are incredibly kind, friendly, and genuinely caring, always taking time to engage and offer reassurance to residents. The Manager and Deputy Manager are visible and involved on a daily basis, clearly knowing the residents well and leading a caring, well-run home. There are lovely and thoughtful activities organised by the Activity's Coordinator that keep residents involved and stimulated. The activities are thoughtfully planned around residents' personal interests, which helps keep them engaged and happy. The atmosphere at Hollybank feels warm and welcoming. Most importantly, I feel confident that my Mum is safe, respected, and well cared for every day.

Friendly, caring staff in a relaxed setting with beautiful views over the estuary. The management were reassuring, very accommodating and helpful from the onset location on seafront, close to amenities was perfect.

All the staff were very caring, helpful and kind. The activities are very good as residents are encouraged to go out to chatty coffee morning,dancing, table tennis etc and entertainers are brought in so a good variety. The food was of good quality and there were choices at every meal.

I am still coming to terms with the difficult decision to move my partner who has Alzheimer's, into residential care. As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, I knew the local care homes well, but after an extensive search, I chose Hollybank for its exceptional care and facilities. Seven weeks in, I'm blown away by the kindness and compassion of the staff. The manager ensures each resident has a tailored care plan, and activities coordinator keeps them socially and physically active with regular trips out. He loves it! I can finally breathe a sigh of relief knowing he's in good hands. Hollybank has made a heart-wrenching decision slightly more bearable. I'm so grateful for their care and attention. Five stars isn't enough - I'm truly thankful for this wonderful team.

The staff at Hollybank are kind, caring and helpful. My husband loves being out in nature, so the lovely location helps enormously - we can get out for walks along the prom when I visit. It's lovely to see the photos of him enjoying the activities - dancing and animal visits, etc. It puts my mind at rest to know he's well cared for.

Very good care home, high standards throughout. Good position of the sea front and good facilities with comfortable lounges and very pleasant dining area. The standard of care is excellent and all staff are very professional and well trained. I am grateful to the staff at Holly Bank for looking after my parents so well. My mother is on her own now and the attention she receives from her carers and their help to her in coming with the loss of my father is a lifeline for her. I very much recommend Hollybank.

The decision to place your parents into full-time residential care is not an easy one and I'm glad I choose Holly Bank. They refer to the Holly Bank 'family' and this is no exaggeration.

On walking into Hollybank Care Home, you feel care, love and safety. Staff are so kind and pleasant, they treat residents like their own family. The home is clean and fresh had has beautiful views, a nice garden area where you can sit out. They have people in to entertain, trips out and make use of local facilities. They play table tennis. I am able to eat there if I want to when I visit, always offered a drink. I am happy my mam is happy, safe, well cared for and it's so handy for me, my family and friends to visit anytime.

The staff are so kind and caring. They do a wonderful job.

I cannot thank the staff enough for looking after my dad since he went to Holly Bank last October to the present day. I love seeing the photos on social media of what he has been doing. The level of care shown to him is outstanding. I know he is settled and happy. I can fully recommend this care home.

Mum moved into Holly Bank 2 weeks ago. The staff have made her feel very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. Food preferences are catered for. Care is very good and the staff very respectful. Families are made very welcome. I would recommend this caring home.

Fabulous home. The staff are always very welcoming. Always very clean and smells lovely. Family members are always clean and very well looked after. Meals looked lovely and were told they enjoyed the food and felt safe and cared for.

Very impressed with the staff, and it's hard to complete this review without mentioning them by name. Found them to be caring, professional and ready to communicate and keep me fully informed.
