All the staff are amazing, my mum has been looked after with the up most care and dignity. The staff have been brilliant with support, not just for mum but us as a family.
Especially in difficult times, we appreciate that more than anything.
Just on the staff, they are more than just mum's carers
they are like extended family.
And always listen to any worries of concerns from us.,which help put our minds at rest.
Very professional in my opinion but having said that, we love to have a laugh with the members of staff as they have one of the hardest jobs in the world. Keep up the fantastic work you all do.
you're all stars in our eyes.

The Old Rectory Care Home has such a warm and welcoming feel, and everyone is treated with real kindness, dignity, and respect. The staff are incredibly caring and always happy to go the extra mile for both residents and their families, which makes a huge difference and gives real peace of mind.
Mum
has settled in really well, which says a lot about the lovely atmosphere in the home. It's so reassuring to know she's enjoying activities, spending time with others, and taking part in a great mix of events that also include families.
The management team have brought lots of positive energy and fresh ideas, while still being approachable and genuinely caring about the residents' wellbeing. Communication is always clear, and the admin team are friendly, helpful, and efficient.
Overall, The Old Rectory feels much more like a friendly community than a traditional care home, with genuine care and connection at the centre of everything they do.
Reply from Michaela Pye, TBC at Old RectoryThank you for such a wonderful review - It is our pleasure to have been chosen to look after your beautiful Mum and also be able to have such a strong connection with all of your family members. We strive to provide kindness, dignity and respect and it is thanks to our wonderful team at the home that we are able to receive such glowing reviews as yours. I moved mum last year into The Vicarage, only because I moved house and wanted her nearer. Any worries I had were put aside after I spoke with staff who always make time to listen, are very caring and look after my mum. Mum is always clean, dressed well has her hair done each week, cups of tea/coffee
brought each morning with a biscuit and the meals are ample and look appetising. Its not an easy job and the staff should be thanks for their help and support each day, I can rest knowing she is happy.

I have not selected a few ratings because I don't know the fees and have no experience of the food or activities. My friend's room and what else I've seen of the home has always been clean. The staff are always friendly and helpful. My friend was a very independent person and I feel has struggled with
losing that ability to make all her own decisions. I understand that mealtimes have to be fixed and it isn't possible to treat everybody differently but her lack of choice in this is the only reason I have given one satisfactory rather than good. Overall I would recommend this home.

On entering the home I have always been greeted with happy people, residents and staff alike. My friend is very happy and well cared for. delicious mini cakes. I was also very impressed with her bedroom, the side and layout, its actually better than my own.

What a wonderful place! My Mother moved into The Clough at the end of Feb 2026 and she is very happy there. She has a lovely big room with fantastic views of the large garden. The building and facilities are very well maintained. The care staff are all welcoming, friendly, supportive and show a real
