I have not selected a few ratings because I don't know the fees and have no experience of the food or activities. My friend's room and what else I've seen of the home has always been clean. The staff are always friendly and helpful. My friend was a very independent person and I feel has struggled with
losing that ability to make all her own decisions. I understand that mealtimes have to be fixed and it isn't possible to treat everybody differently but her lack of choice in this is the only reason I have given one satisfactory rather than good. Overall I would recommend this home.

Mum has been here for 11 years.
I feel that her care has always been excellent. Mum's main carer has been excellent, kind and attentive.
The staff are very welcoming and we feel Mum is settled and secure here and I think she feels at home. It is lovely being able to take Mum in the conservatory, especially
if we have a family group. Well run. Thank you.
Reply from Tarnya Fairburn, Care Home Manager at Brantley ManorThank you so much for your lovely comments. Mum is a joy to look after.

Mum has been residing at Brantley Manor for over two years. Brantley benefits from having lovely kind, caring staff who take good care of mum. The food looks lovely and is provided in a light bright dining room, there is also a sunny conservatory. The home is always nice and warm and the housekeeping
team keep the home clean. Because Brantley is a smaller home with fewer residents than some places, the staff know residents likes and dislikes and there is a family feel.

All the staff are friendly, caring and attentive. They know all the residents and their likes/dislikes.
There are lots of varied activities for the residents and the staff join in. It feels like a lovely family environment where the staff work tirelessly for those in their care.
If I have any concerns
re mum, I raise them with staff and they act promptly, providing updates and reassurance.

Brantley has a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and feels like a family home. the carers are all very friendly and always happy to chat.
The food is lovely with amazing cooks, they do wonderful cakes for birthdays and any other celebration.
This year they invited relatives to have Fathers day
lunch with our dads and it was a wonderful meal.
The manager is always available if you need to chat and is very supportive to the residents and family.
Improvements are being carried out to a high standard and the garden is having a make over.
My parents are very happy to be there and enjoy the entertainment and feel safe and comfortable living at the home.
Can recommend Brantley to anyone looking for a home for their loved ones to live.

My mother moved into Brantley Manor in August, following a fall at home that necessitated a hospital visit. I didn’t know the care system at all, but when I called Brantley Manor (after a recommendation from one of Mum’s friends) their manager could not have been kinder, calmly explaining everything
to me and answering all my questions.
As well as showing Mum the utmost care and respect since she moved in, the staff have always had time for my questions, providing reassurance to me at a very difficult time.
Mum is now a permanent resident at the home, and while Mum’s situation is a sad one (she has advanced dementia and is non-verbal), I know Mum is being well looked after.
I love the fact that the home is on social media, so we sometimes catch a glimpse of Mum on there, taking part in some of the many activities the home arrange.
I would have no hesitation recommending this home. The staff are friendly, caring, and professional, and the atmosphere is always homely and welcoming.
Reply from Suzanne Slaven, Care Home Manager at Brantley ManorThank you for your lovely words, our care starts from the first phone call, we raise that this is a difficult decision for some, we try to keep things simple and explain the process to help.

My mum has been in Brantley Manor Care Home now for nearly three months and still is a resident. Mum is being cared for by a wonderful, helpful, polite and kind staff. There is nothing that is to much trouble for the staff to sort out for the residents. They have people in to sing, help with exercise
and also to do crafts. My mum is really enjoying being there and also when we leave after a visit it's so comforting that Mum is happy when we leave. Thanks to Brantley Manor staff for for being so caring.

With heavy hearts, we had to put Mum into Brantley Manor with sight loss and the onset of dementia. Mum was getting upset at being on her own. Putting Mum into Brantley Manor was hard but the care she is receiving is the best. Someone is always on hand to help, lots of cups of tea, food has lots of
choices and the staff are lovely and friendly.

My father has only been a resident for a few days and already I can see he is thriving. The care he is getting is outstanding. All of the staff say hello and chat to him and to me. He is included all of the time and made to feel he is at home. The food is very good and the drinks are constantly supplied
and encouragement given to drink often. Residents have several different rooms they can sit in, as well as a dining area, which is very bright and a nice, enclosed garden with seating outside too. There always seems to be thought behind the daily activities and we can see what residents have done that day through the social media updates, which is a comfort. My dad is happy here and his conversation has improved.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.388)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.388) out of 10 for Brantley Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.638 for Brantley Manor is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (28 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 116 Ratings = 4.638
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brantley Manor is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 33 registered maximum number of service users is 6.6, which has been reached with 10 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
