I can’t praise Brantley Manor enough. The respect, love and care that all staff show for the residents is outstanding. My mother and auntie both reside at Brantley and on mother’s day, we all enjoyed afternoon tea together, in a relaxed family atmosphere. Mum really enjoys all the activities that the
residents do, in particular the craft, art and musical activities. Mum is happier than she has been for many years, in the constant, caring company of residents and carers alike.

My grandma has been there a nearly year and as someone who works in care, I know how hard it can be, but I love how they put so much effort into keeping the residents entertained and always singing, talking and trying to keep them involved. One member of staff, in particular, is always keeping us up
to date as to when my grandma gets up(she likes to stay in bed) and helps to keep her talking and mind busy. A very grateful granddaughter.

Brantley Manor, by the all-round excellent care, extended to my beloved husband, has enabled him to have a level of contentment I would not have believed possible. At the same time, it has given me a state of peace of mind regarding his care, which I would not have believed possible. I have found the
manager, along with the care staff to be most approachable and keen to answer any query I have. There is a warm and happy atmosphere in Brantley Manor, no doubt not easily achieved!

I visited mum on Friday the 3rd of September which was my second visit since the Covid 19 restrictions had been relaxed and I just wanted to say how wonderful my visit was.
It was such a joy to see everyone and talk to everyone again, there were a lot of happy smiley faces which is always a good thing
to see and familiar faces from my previous visits which also always makes me very happy.
Brantley Manor is always clean and tidy and in the past, I have sat in the dining room and sampled some of the lovely homemade produce.
The staff are all so friendly and nothing seems like too much trouble one of the male staff who was on duty yesterday even told me he had been communicating with my mother in her own native language of Portuguese which made me feel so happy and I know how much joy this will have brought to Mum.
The staff and manager all work really really hard and are prepared to go that extra mile.

The staff are kind, compassionate and caring. My husband has only been there five days but already there is a big improvement in both his mental and physical wellbeing. He no longer is withdrawing into himself, eating better and cooperating with staff to try to stand again after fracturing his hip in
hospital.

We love the care and attention the staff give to all the residents. Under the guidance of the awesome manager, we feel blessed to have our mother-in-law in such a safe, caring and gentle home. The gardens outside are an added bonus. This home sets the bar high and should be commended for the job they
do.

The staff at Brantley Manor are very upbeat, caring and respectful of the residents. The home is spacious, the bedrooms are comfortable and the food is all homemade and looks tasty. The residents that are able to are encouraged to participate in various activities daily, either inside the home or outside
in the spacious garden. Relatives have the opportunity to video call with loves ones regularly.

I have been going to see my friend weekly until it closed because of Covid-19. I was very emotional after I had sat with her holding her hand and she gave me such a smile, she looked lovely, clothes hair and fingernails. I knew how well she had been looked after and I felt good inside. The staff are
always there for me too. Thank you all so very much.

My mum has been in Brantley since February of this year, we were so worried about her being admitted into a care home, this was our first experience and we really did not know what to expect
The manager and her team made Mums admission into their family so welcoming, Mums dementia made it impossible
for her to be cared for at home by my elderly father of 89 years, I live nearly 100 miles away so couldn't offer much in the way of help.
I've seen wonderful changes in mums whole personality, she has life in her eyes again and a smile on her face, which tells me she is relaxed and enjoying her life in Brantley Manor.
I much appreciate all their efforts it gives me peace of mind knowing she is well cared for.

Amazing what activities this care home offer the service users. I'm really enjoying keeping up with them on celebrations which are daily and we take for granted and they keep them alive for the residents. Looking back to past events and keeping memories alive. Well done to all the staff you should be
proud.

Mum has been a resident at Brantley since November 2020, she was able to move in during the Covid pandemic as she was unable to live alone at home anymore.
All the staff have been fantastic and I can’t fault the care mum receives. It is so reassuring to see mum settled and safe, I love seeing her pictures
on Facebook engaging with the activities that are happening at Brantley. I have been able to visit mum, during the restrictions via window and pod visits. And now restrictions have lifted I can see her in person and hold her hand again. Brantley has always ensured the safety of residents and visitors alike with the testing and hygiene regimes.
Thank you for all that you do for mum and all the residents.

Both my parents have lived in Brantley. Mum (living with Alzheimer’s) has lived there for several years, and the care she receives has been consistent and excellent; nothing is too much trouble. Mum, sadly, doesn’t recognise me, but I have seen her face light up when familiar staff members interact
with her, which is so reassuring. Dad was in Brantley for palliative care at the end of his life. He chose to live there, having been impressed by the care given to Mum and appreciating the genuine warmth that he was shown by staff when visiting. As a resident, he had nothing but high praise for the whole staff, who went above and beyond to ensure his comfort and happiness. It is evident that each member of the team puts the well-being of the residents at the heart of everything they do. In my experience, residents’ families feel part of the ‘Brantley Family' and are welcomed and supported by the staff team. Brantley, with its warm, friendly atmosphere, really is a home from home.

I would highly recommend this loving and caring home, where my mother has been a resident for over a year. I have nothing but praise for the whole team for the way they have dealt with the coronavirus situation. Alongside their normal high standards of care, they have been very inventive with their
activities programme to keep all residents busy during this difficult time when no visitors have been allowed. Regular video chats have been arranged between residents and their friends and families, so nobody needs to have felt totally alone. A big well done, and thank you to all the amazing staff.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.391)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.391) out of 10 for Brantley Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.566 for Brantley Manor is calculated as follows: ( (95 Excellents x 5) + (48 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 152 Ratings = 4.566
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brantley Manor is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 33 registered maximum number of service users is 6.6, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
