Coming to terms with face that my dad needed to move into a care home was one of the most traumatic and heartbreaking moments our family has ever faced. It was devastating for all of us, especially my mum. Dad is stubborn, confused, and often very delusional, and he simply doesn't understand why he can't be at home. That alone has been incredibly hard to cope with. The one that has made this entire situation bearable is the staff who care for him every day. The whole team have been nothing short of wonderful. They understand him in a way that brings us real comfort. They show him patience, kindness, and genuine affection, even on the days when he is at his most challenging. What means the most to us is that dad loves the staff. He lights up around them. They make him laugh, they bring fun into his day, and they treat him with dignity and warmth. Knowing he is surrounded by people who truly care for him has lifted a huge weight from our shoulders. We will always be grateful to the team for the compassion, understanding and humanity they show - not just to dad, but to all of us as a family during such a difficult time.
Thank you Lisa for your extremely kind words and taking the time to leave a review. We will ensure we pass your comments on to the team.
Glenfield Woodlands is a genuinely lovely care home every time we visit, we are made to feel welcome and included. The staff always take the time to update us and reassure us. The care my father in law receives is excellent - kind, patient and consistent. We are very grateful for the support they give him and the comfort they give our family.

My mother has been at Glenfield Woodlands since January 2025. She has settled well, the staff have been excellent, kind and caring, and she joins in with activities when she can. She has recently celebrated her 90th birthday and was visited by her sister and sister-in-law. When asked if she was happy here, she said yes. Nothing is too much for the staff and management. I would highly recommend this care home.

We are truly impressed with Glenfield Woodlands care home. The staff are all amazing, very attentive, they have a real passion to make sure the residents are well looked after, happy and safe, they go the extra mile, which is massively appreciated. It's great to see the residents and staff interacting and having fun, the staff also massively support the families too and are always accommodating. The home is immaculately presented and clean and the garden is amazing too. The food is fabulous and they offer such a variety but also the cooks will accommodate the residents if they want something different. They make an amazing birthday cake too. We are so grateful to Sharon, Toni, Ellis and the team for all the support and looking after mum. Mum really has settled in well within Glenfield Woodlands Care Home and really enjoys being there. This gives us all great peace of mind and comfort that mum is really happy and settled. We are so pleased to have found an ideal home for mum

The staff were very friendly and kind toward the residents and visitors. They had laid on a birthday party for the resident I was visiting. It was my first visit and I was impressed by the place, staff and atmosphere - felt like a home from home
Thank you for leaving a review and your kind comments. We hope you visit again soon.
Glenfield Woodlands is an excellent care home. We continue to be impressed with the care my Father has received since day one. The staff are all amazing and nothing is too much trouble. You can see how much the residents are cared for and are treated as family by the staff. The home is always clean and staff attentive to the residents needs. The food is also amazing, my Mother has been able to join my Father for meals which has been lovely for them both. As a family we are so grateful for all the hard work the staff do in making the home a special place. We couldn't wish for a better place for my Father.
Our aim is to make certain the residents enjoy a homely safe environment, whilst having fun and sharing special occasions with their loved ones and fellow residents.
As it is a small care home it has the feel of a real home from home and this is one of its advantages.
The staff are kind, caring and go above and beyond to meet the individual needs of the residents. Their comfort and happiness is a priority.
My father in law says it's marvellous and he couldn't be in a better place and especially as he always gets his coffee liqueur!!
My family feel that my mother and father in law are both receiving the best possible care.
Thank you to all the staff that work so hard to make it the best experience possible.

Mum has been at Woodland since August 2024 and we have seen a fantastic improvement in her physical and mental health. Since moving to Woodlands mums health has flourished and the staff have been great. Professional and friendly at all times and the level of communication is great. They have a great program of weekly events that have helped mum back on the road to recovery and she is now walking with the support of a walking aid. All the staff make time for the residents and are very caring and compassionate. Recently the lift was out of action for a day and the home arranged a "temporary lounge" upstairs to enable the residents to be together and enjoy each others company. An illustration how a home go above and beyond to make life comfortable for the residents. I cannot fault the care and professional approach Woodlands show to residents and family. The home is well led and there is always a lovely atmosphere. A big shout out to all the Carers and mum is laughing again. GREAT!

My 97 year old mum became a resident in August. Mum has dementia and did suffer from very poor mobility and on arrival at Glenfield Woodlands from a previous home where Mum was unkempt and mentally distressed. Within two weeks, thanks to the Manager and her wonderful team of caring staff, mum had settled into her forever home. My Mums personality has changed beyond belief. Not only is Mum very happy and content, laughs and jokes a lot but has also made friends with all of the lovely staff and residents. She joins in with all of the very varied daily activities such as baking, crafts, games and singing to name a few. Thanks to the patience and encouragement of the wonderful staff, Mum can now walk with her frame, much further than shes walked in the last 5 years. Glenfield Woodlands which is set in beautiful grounds is a very caring and friendly home with a family atmosphere. All staff members are truly amazing and a dedicated team. Thank you all for looking after Mum so well.

I found this residential home for my sister-in-law, who had been in/out of hospital, due to poor health amd dementia. Her health had deteriorated rapidly, her mobility was poor and, following discharge to a temporary place, she broke her hip so was back in hospital again, that was life-changing for her and we thought we would lose her. Since being at Glenfield her communication has improved, she is smiley and happy, she is clean and comfortable and tells me the food is lovely. They have already got her standing and out into the sunshine to sit in the glorious garden. She is also drinking more, and for the first time in a while we can actually go to sleep at night without a knot in our stomachs. We feel that we can now look forward to short breaks away without worry. She has only been in this care home for just over two weeks but wow what a difference in her. Thank you to the manager and all of the other caring staff who give such excellent care.

Mum settled into Woodlands incredibly quickly. By day two she was ‘at home’. Mum is very content and happy. She really loves all the activities (crafts, baking, singing, quizzes, bowling - to name but a few) and the company of staff and residents. It is a huge reassurance to us knowing that she is being looked after/supported to such a high standard. Visits are a pleasure and I am still able to take Mum out and about eg church, memory cafe etc. Big thank you to all the staff.
Thank you Kay for your kind review. Your mum certainly settled in well and is definitely part of the Woodlands family.
The staff are very friendly and understanding.

Family member stayed here for respite who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Fantastic range of activities for all to do, bingo/painting/singing/baking etc. Staff were welcoming, approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. They were more than happy to answer any questions. Good communication from staff, for any falls/concerns or daily updates. Lovely warm cosy feel to the home, rooms were immaculate and designed well. Fantastic well-kept garden.

Staff were amazing and made my sister-in-law feel so welcome and ourselves whilst having respite care. She loves it there. All the staff and residents are so happy. Beautiful gardens. Great activities.

Brilliant friendly and caring staff who are dedicated and sensitive to the often joyful and complex needs of the residents. My mother is a recent resident at Woodlands and is having a great time, making new friends, and being supported by a fab team. She is eating well, baking and playing games, this is great for a lady in her nineties with a new lease of life.
