Mum went into Glenfield Woodlands care home at the beginning of the pandemic, after a nasty fall at home. Initially, it was temporary but as time passed it became apparent that mum would not be able to return home. Until five days before mums passing, I had not been into the home. It was clear and reassuring from our outside visits that she was clean and well cared for. It was nice that she could have her hair done. It was heartening to see mum taking part in the activities on their Facebook page. Never once did mum complain about her care and always said how good the food was how happy she was and how caring and friendly all the staff were. When mum's health deteriorated I was involved in the management of her care and I was also allowed to sit with her which gave me great comfort. She was treated with the utmost care, respect and dignity during her last few days. I cannot thank the home enough for the consideration shown to me and my family during what was a difficult time. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to review Glenfield Woodlands, your comments are wonderful and very much appreciated. I will pass these on to the staff.
Glenfield Woodlands is a small home with a lovely welcoming atmosphere. It also boasts a beautifully kept garden, which holds an annual summer fete.
All of the staff are lovely, kind, caring and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The home has an activities coordinator - the residents participate in daily activities including flower arranging, arts and crafts, games and dancing, to name a few! There is a Hairdresser who visits weekly and a Chiropodist.
Communication is excellent, we can ring anytime and we are kept up to date with events and photo’s via social media.
The meals are excellent and Dad can join Mum for a meal when he visits.
Mum’s room is bright, clean and comfortable and accommodates her needs.
My mum is very happy at Glenfield Woodlands and has settled really well.
I can not tell you what a relief it is for us, as a family, to find Mum her forever home!
Thank you Beverley for your extremely kind words. She is indeed part of our Glenfield family and she keeps us on our toes in the best possible way. We look forward to having you all back visiting as soon as it is safe to do so.
My troubles started in May 2018 when my lovely brother died suddenly. I missed him so much. I'd coped on my own with my dog, Suki (12and a half) for years. I stopped eating. In November my son got me to hospital. I was so thin, and they build me up. My son wouldn't let me go home in January, so found this lovely care home for me and Suki (she'd been in kennels - which broke my heart being without her for 3 months). We love it here! Everyone loves Suki. My room has a door onto the lovely big garden. I look after the flowers and Suki has an 8-metre lead to roam. I'm so glad I came here with lockdown I would have been so lonely. It's lovely!
Thank you for your lovely review, Madeline. It has been a wonderful experience having you apart of our home and family.
First impression warm and inviting. Very homely. Staff appeared to have been employed at the home for quite some time, making good continuity between members of staff and residents in a caring environment.
Thank you for taking the time to review Glenfield Woodlands, your comments are appreciated.
My mum has been a resident for just over five years. The home has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff have always been very caring and professional with her care and I have never had any fears for her safety and wellbeing. She has always been treated with respect and dignity. The food given is now at a high standard with a good variety of choice. The previous manager was excellent and the new one is even better together with the recently employed deputy manager.
Thank you for your wonderful review. It was an absolute pleasure looking after your mother. She will be fondly remembered by everyone here at Glenfield Woodlands. You and your family are always welcome to visit the home.
Now under new management and a deputy manager, I have seen a change of real professionalism, caring and hopefully changes to the home to benefit the residents. Overall, completely happy for my mum to have spent her last years here.
Thank you for your wonderful review. It was an absolute pleasure looking after your mother. She will be fondly remembered by everyone here at Glenfield Woodlands. You have been such a supportive family. Thank you again, please feel free to pop in to the home to see us all for a cup of tea.
The home is small and very comfortable, and I thought this would suit Mum more than a large care home. The staff are very caring and devoted, led by approachable and committed management.
There is a beautiful garden to the rear of the home. The home has a personal touch, is clean and tidy and smells fresh. The residents are kept clean and well-nourished.
Mum had a pressure sore which was never resolved in the previous care home, but since being a resident at Glenfield Woodlands the care and devotion of staff have overcome this problem.
Mum has a lovely bedroom with a bay window, en-suite toilet and wash hand-basin facilities.
A very friendly home. The staff and manager are very dedicated.
The care that my Mum receives is excellent, always very clean rooms and smells fresh. Meals are always presented well there is always a choice for Mum if doesn't eat what is on the menu. Feel all the staff give 100% in their care and nothing is ever too much trouble.
They have given Mum the best care she needed. We were extremely pleased with the quality of care and attention given to Mum and we are sad to go, but Mum will be near us which will provide Mum with additional love and attention close at hand.
Thank you for your kind review. We hope your mum is keeping well and settled in her new home. Please pass on our very best wishes from all the staff.
They always greet you with a smile and will answer any question you have.
The home itself is clean and tidy and the gardens are beautiful.
I am very satisfied with the care given to my mother. Staff interaction very good.
Thank you for taking the time to review Glenfield Woodlands. Your comments are greatly appreciated.
My Mum moved into Glenfield Woodlands last year. She has always lived on her own, but as a family, we knew she needed extra help, so looked at a few Care Homes. After consideration, we decided it seemed a small, friendly, and more personal care home. The residents always seem happy, and the staff welcoming, always replying and responding to any queries and worries we may have.
Thank you very much Lorraine for taking the time to review Glenfield Woodlands. Your comments are very much appreciated.
My father is cared for in a kind and compassionate manner, all his needs are catered for and although he can be difficult at times he is always shown the same consideration.
Thank you Jane for reviewing Glenfield Woodlands. Your comments are very much appreciated.
Would recommend to friends and family, have already recommended to a friend.
A care home that makes you feel like 'home' not a business like others.
The staff have become like a second family to us and we have formed new friendships.
Thank you, Leanne, for your kind words. We pride ourselves on being a homely place for our residents to live.
Cups of tea were provided and there was a bathroom we could use, very grateful for both as we had driven over 2 hours. The home was clean and nicely decorated, staff were welcoming and friendly. My aunt was very happy.
As with all homes, I have visited, there is never enough staff but, taking this into consideration, the individual needs of residents are well catered for. This is helped by the fact that it is a small home and there is not a large turnover of staff.
In general, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming to residents and their visitors.
Mum moved into Woodlands four months ago. I chose the home after visiting others as the manager was business-like but caring, and the room available, pleasant. Staff are pleasant, always positive and know and understand Mum's dementia needs. I am informed of any concerns and her frequent falls. The lounge is carpeted, though a bit cool for Mum's needs. Mum likes her room but because of her falls does not spend time there. Staff are caring and helpful. The only downside is the lack of activities. The TV is on but Mum can't see it from her usual seat. Staff work hard and seem very busy at weekends.
All staff are excellent and provide my mother with excellent care. They also provide little extras such as engaging her in talk and keeping her mind active. When I visit they also are lovely to me. Cannot express my thanks and gratitude enough- they all take their jobs to a high level.
I recently booked my mother into Glanffrwd Care Home for a weeks respite care while I went on holiday. Having never done this before I found the staff very helpful answering all my queries satisfactorily. On the day my mother went in they made her feel very welcome and put her at ease. My wife and I found all the staff we spoke to very friendly, polite and professional. I would confidently use the home again.
