Stobars Hall

My sister was sent to Stobars Hall from the hospital, which seemed not to have capacity. She is happy and well cared for, she had company, she does activities, and they take her for walks because she loves walking. I can now visit her and enjoy our time together instead of stressing about what I'm going to find when I go, which in turn gives me peace of mind. The manager and staff are wonderful. In fact, she is the happiest I've seen her for years. I cannot praise them enough.

I am quite happy to see my mum here; she seems very settled and happy. She has only been in Stobard Hall since May 2020. I haven't actually been in the home because of the circumstances we have been in. The only thing I am not too happy about is there is no weekend visiting, which for most families that work, this is the best time to visit.

Happy with my mother's care and recent changes Stobars Hall has made to permit Covid-safe visits.

My brother had been in the hospital for more than three months after a bad stroke, which left him unable to walk. While he appreciated the care and friendliness at the hospital, our family are just so grateful that he was able to spend his last few weeks at Stobars Hall. Not only was the nursing care excellent; above all, the warm, family atmosphere was unmistakable. He had been able to eat very little, but great care was taken to provide nourishing meals and drinks that he could enjoy. And there was a real concern to find out about him as a person. For instance, when they heard of his love of bird-watching; a bird–feeder was attached to his window, and it gave him great pleasure to watch the tits feeding, even on the afternoon before he died. Typically, a small gesture yet richly significant. We, his family also felt included in the Stobars Family: our many phone calls were always welcomed, and any help needed was immediately forthcoming.

Especially in these difficult times, it is hard to see how the staff could have done a better job of looking after and caring for my mother. They have also been extremely diligent in keeping the home clear of the covid virus. They have always been very helpful over the phone and have done their best to facilitate visiting, it is not their fault that this cannot be very satisfactory in these times. The home did an amazing job to celebrate mum's 100th birthday and make a great occasion of it. The staff are extremely caring, the management excellent and the food high quality. My only criticism is that it seems to take a very long time to repair problems with the rooms, my mum has had to move out twice for a long spell which she finds very disorientating. However, I recognise the difficulty of getting good workmen in, especially during these restrictions. Keep up the good work, you are all doing a great job.

The staff have been so good with Mum, helping her to settle in and keeping the family informed during COVID. Such good care, great food and lovely surroundings. We have been so pleased that Mum has been in a safe place during COVID, and to see her relax and be happy again. A big thank you to all the staff!

My cousin has been a resident at Stobars Hall since late last year, and I have visited him on a regular basis in that time. I have found the staff very caring of him, and he has been happy with his treatment and his meals. I have seen him today outside, and everything was done correctly. He has a wonderful room with good views out of both windows. I have always been made most welcome.

Lovely home and grounds are well kept, and the surrounding is in lovely countryside. The new manager has improved the home to a very good standard. The staff are very kind and helpful; it is in a very happy environment. My husband is very happy and is cared for very well.

My mother has been a resident of Stobars Hall for the last 5-years and has always been looked after to the highest standards l could wish for. During the lockdown, I have been unable to visit my mother but Stobars staff have constantly kept me updated on how she is and nothing is ever any trouble to them. I can not thank them or recommend them enough. Thank you you are all exceptional people that have a special place in my heart for all the love and attention you give all your residence.

Having been to five care homes, this is by far the best. One of the previous homes rated excellent.

My mother has resided at Stobars Hall since April 2020. She seems happy, content and settled. She really enjoys the food. She gets excellent support from her carers. Very happy that my mother is in Stobars Hall.

Caring environment with a homely atmosphere, management and staff very caring and always available to talk to about any concerns.

My opinion of this care provider is that my friend has been fortunate to be accepted as a service user here. Management and staff treat all service users with dignity and understanding and respond to requests for attention promptly when possible. Rooms that I have seen are always clean and pleasant as are lounges. Food and drink excellent and on time. Activities are frequent, varied and interesting.

My experience has been wonderful. The manager and head of care and staff are first class.
