I usually visit my best friend once a week. She has been in Durham House since December 2022, and has Alzheimer's. She still recognises me, and although her conversation is usually very restricted, we can laugh about shared times, complete with photographs. During my visits, I have always been warmly welcomed by all the staff, administrative, carers and maintenance/auxiliary workers. I am usually greeted by name, and always with a smile. I have nothing but praise for the staff at Durham House - its best asset! They are excellent with their clients, show endless patience, and perform their duties with a smile. The lounge is frequently decorated to celebrate national/local events, and some of these have been created by the residents as part on an on-going activities programme. An extra pair of hands to extend their wonderful programme would be an asset.

My mam has been a resident at Durham House for some time and over the months her needs have changed. The team have always recognised this and tailored their approach to make sure she receives the best possible care. The thing I value the most is how obvious the care and concern the team have for Mam always is. I know without doubt that she is safe, clean, comfortable, hydrated, well fed and most importantly loved and respected. Thank you Durham House for all you do.

Today's visit was like every other, witnessing an amazing team of carers managing each person with care and attention. It does not matter what time of day I visit, they are constantly busy, they are very caring staff, attentive and considerate of others when residents are needing sensitive support. Every credit to them and the caring profession they represent. Nothing is a trouble to them, even under pressure. Thank you!!

Durham House is a really lovely care home. Dad has now been in Durham House for 1.5 years and is really settled, comfortable and happy there. From day 1 the staff have been absolutely amazing and are very friendly, caring, helpful and supportive. They are fantastic with Dad and with us.
Durham House are very flexible with visiting your loved one and are supportive with whatever works with you.
They have an excellent activities coordinator who does lots of great activities to engage the residents.
The home is clean and frequently decorated for different celebrations and seasons.

One of the first things we noticed when we moved Dad in was how lovely the atmosphere is in Durham House. It feels a very cheerful, relaxed, positive and a love filled place to be.
