Welcome to Rose Lodge.

Rose Lodge is a purpose-built care home built in 2003 and then extended in 2004 to incorporate its specialised Dementia unit. Located in Cobblers Lane the home is located less than 2 miles from Newton Aycliffe Town Centre with 7 Sapphire bus stop on Burnhill Way and number 17 bus on Burn Lane.

The home is divided into four units, spread over two floors with the Lincoln and Hamilton suites housing 12 rooms for residential dementia residents and the main building caters for residential clients. All units have their own lounge and dining room for residents to relax and enjoy the delicious food cooked onsite in the homes kitchen.

There is a coffee shop in the main building with coffee corner and the snug in Lincoln and Hamilton units with complementary tea and coffee available for visitors to the home.

All bedrooms are provided fully furnished with en suite facilities and shared bathrooms and shower rooms with the option of personalising your own room with furniture from home and accessories should this be needed.

Rose Lodge's full-time activities coordinator provides residents with an extensive programme of activities, entertainment and events as well as trips out of the home to the local PCP groups. Its central location, regular coffee mornings and luncheon clubs, and charity fundraising events mean the home enjoys strong community links.

They have a 5-star award in Food Hygiene at the home and believe food is a huge aspect of their care at Rose Lodge and residents enjoy a cooked breakfast, choice of lunch and dinner meals, supper and hospitality trolley with drinks and cakes throughout the day.

My mother has been at rose lodge for several years now and suffers with dementia. I am so grateful for everything the staff do seeing my mother smiling laughing and singing and being happy means so much she is always doing activities organised by the home and staff are always friendly.

My father has been in Rose Lodge for 4 years now and he loves it there, he lived on his own prior to his move into care. He now enjoys all the company of the other residents and looks forward to all the activities , its gave him independence within the home with the security that someone is there 24/7
for all his needs.
As a daughter, the staff keep me informed of his health and wellbeing making my life easier as we all know when a parent gets into old age times become hard for the family too.
I would not hesitate to recommend Rose Lodge to anyone who is at that age where their wellbeing becomes massively important and labour intense ,the staff at Rose Lodge are hard working and caring people and are very approachable to talk to .

My mam couldn't be in a better care home we can leave her knowing that she is being well cared for she is happy and I wouldn't like to think she was anywhere else. The carers are good and understand my Mams needs and she is happy which is the main thing.

I went into Rose Lodge in October 2024, with very poor mental health. I had delirium and couldn't do nothing for myself.
The staff and carers were absolutely first class. They cared for me totally. The became friends as well as carers. Without these people I would not be where I am today. Waiting
to move into my own apartment and being in the best of health. I will always be grateful to them and remember them.

My Mam receives excellent care and attention from the staff at the Care Home. She has all her meals specially made as she has a swallowing problem. This has enabled her to receive the nutrition she needs and has brought to an end her constant sickness when eating. I attribute this improvement to
the vigilance of the staff whoo organised her a Hospital investigation. I had been unable to achieve this for her through her previous GP when she was living at home. As a result of this, she has galined weight and is much stronger than when she first moved in to Care. She can walk with the aid of the Zimmer frame

Our experience with Rose Lodge Care Home was very positive during our loved one's respite stay of several weeks. The staff provided excellent attention to all aspects of personal care, ensuring my Mother-in-law was well-looked after with regular visits from the hairdresser and good attention to grooming
needs.
The team's holistic approach stood out - they didn't just focus on basic care but ensured residents had access to services that maintained their dignity and well-being. Staff showed genuine care in their interactions, making it feel more like a home than a facility.
The level of personal attention and professionalism gave us great peace of mind. We're grateful for the compassionate care provided by the Rose Lodge team during this time.

My mother has stayed at Rose Lodge for respite. She was very happy when we visited as she was not on her own. My family were very impressed at how friendly the staff were. My mam has been here for the past couple of weeks recovering from illness. She is going home tomorrow, but her stay here has been lovely. All the staff are ultra friendly and approachable. Her room was spacious and cosy. They have a lovely dining room laid out like a restaurant and she even got a daily
cooked breakfast. There were also plenty of activities for residents. I can honestly say this place is really good and definitely recommend it. Thank you to everyone for taking good care of my mam.

Very pleased with all aspects of care at Rose Lodge Newton Aycliffe. The staff are all very kind and patient with a good sprinkle of humour thrown in to lift spirits when required. Mum particularly enjoyed the activities, with music and movement and the singer who visited amongst her favourites. Food
choices are excellent and the endless cups of coffee/beverages are all very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend Rose Lodge to anyone looking for a caring, homely environment for their loved ones.

Staff try very hard to make residents feel at home from home. Always friendly to visiting families too. Will do anything for us. Excellent food and drinks, regularly throughout the day and evening. My mam has been a resident of Rose Lodge for just over a year. I cannot fault the staff's commitment to their residents. No home is perfect, but the carers work extremely hard. They are pleasant and caring. My mam is coming to the end of her life, but these girls have made her remaining time with us
enjoyable. She has flourished under their excellent care.

This care home is very welcoming to the residents. I partially love the range of activities that they have on. My aunt loves engaging in the activities, especially when the care home gets singers in, as she feels like she is the performance. She also enjoys playing bingo or dominoes. The staff are very

My father-in-law has lived there for over a year now. He loves it there; he has made friends and loves the activities and entertainment. He loves mealtimes sitting around the dining table chatting with other residents. Rose Lodge has a lovely and friendly atmosphere, and the staff are lovely to him.

My mother has been a resident at Rose Lodge for two years now and the support and kindness shown to my mother and myself has been outstanding my mother has gained weight and made friends since coming to Rose Lodge and enjoys all meals prepared for her and joining in all activities. My mother-in-law went to Rose Lodge two years ago and the care she has received has been amazing. I have not seen my mother-in-law look as healthy as she does and she is so happy in her surroundings, I know this is due to the care and support given by the staff and management at the home. I know my
wife is now able to settle at night knowing her mother is safe and well cared for.

Please please do not use this home. This is the most awful place. Understaffed, staff under pressure, and not the slightest hint of joy here. Any good reviews must be old reviews. Do your research. If you love your family member and they have dementia please take them elsewhere.

Rose Lodge is a clean and modern care home. The staff I engaged with on visits were pleasant and helpful when approached. My mother-in-law was placed in Rose Lodge temporarily. However, my experience of visiting my mother-in-law in the home was not a good one. She has mild to moderate dementia symptoms,
which manifests as confusion and no perception of time. She was placed on a floor with patients who displayed more severe dementia symptoms. This made her very uncomfortable and miserable (unfortunately, we were unable to move floors). On observation, some of the residents were not very clean and were walking around the corridors in badly soiled clothes. On one occasion a resident was banging on the door to be let out as I was trying to leave, no staff came to her aid. These are just a couple of examples. Whilst I appreciate that the staff have a difficult and demanding job, the residents are someone's family and therefore should be treated with care and respect at all times.
