Rose Lodge Care Home

My mother-in-law went to Rose Lodge two years ago and the care she has received has been amazing. I have not seen my mother-in-law look as healthy as she does and she is so happy in her surroundings, I know this is due to the care and support given by the staff and management at the home. I know my wife is now able to settle at night knowing her mother is safe and well cared for.

Please please do not use this home. This is the most awful place. Understaffed, staff under pressure, and not the slightest hint of joy here. Any good reviews must be old reviews. Do your research. If you love your family member and they have dementia please take them elsewhere.

Rose Lodge is a clean and modern care home. The staff I engaged with on visits were pleasant and helpful when approached. My mother-in-law was placed in Rose Lodge temporarily. However, my experience of visiting my mother-in-law in the home was not a good one. She has mild to moderate dementia symptoms, which manifests as confusion and no perception of time. She was placed on a floor with patients who displayed more severe dementia symptoms. This made her very uncomfortable and miserable (unfortunately, we were unable to move floors). On observation, some of the residents were not very clean and were walking around the corridors in badly soiled clothes. On one occasion a resident was banging on the door to be let out as I was trying to leave, no staff came to her aid. These are just a couple of examples. Whilst I appreciate that the staff have a difficult and demanding job, the residents are someone's family and therefore should be treated with care and respect at all times.

I found this care home perfect for my aunt who has advanced dementia. Her meals were given to her already cut up to make eating much easier for her. Her care is person-centred. The activities she enjoyed were offered on a daily basis, her favourite will always be armchair exercises. We are so pleased with the care home.

The staff are Rose Lodge Care Home do a very good job for my mum and residents. They are helpful and make sure that nothing is a bother. To me, the staff don't get paid enough for the job they do. It's hard work and demanding, hats off to the ladies and gentlemen you have at your company. Just to say a special mention to the care home's cat, 19 years old and the residents love him at Rose Lodge.

Rose Lodge has always been a very welcoming and friendly home. Nothing is any trouble for the manager and the staff. They go over and above what they are asked to do. You can tell by photos on Facebook how happy and cared for are all the residents. I would not hesitate to recommend Rose Lodge to any of my relatives and friends. It is the best-run home that I know of.

KEEP SAFE ??

My mother spent 8 happy years here. The care she receives prolonged her life and gave her many happy times here. I still visit Rose Lodge regularly; a testimony to enduring good memories. The staff promote an atmosphere of a family home, not an institution. They obviously care for everyone as individuals. I should add that the food is excellent, as a visitor you always feel you could sit down and eat with them, unlike many such places.

My nana seems happy at Rose Lodge. The carers are lovely and go over and above. Activities do seem a little lacking, although the coordinator works very hard, there seems to be a lack of staff to facilitate properly or frequently. Meals seem a little repetitive ie pork every Sunday.

She was only in 9 weeks before she passed away but in those 9 weeks, she got the best care anyone could ask for. Mam got to know and love all the staff and they all loved my mam and for that, I am truly thankful to Rose Lodge Care Home.

Very happy with the care my gran received during her time at Rose Lodge. All staff were exceptional and very professional, going above and beyond to ensure my gran's needs were met.

My stay at Rose Lodge was unexpected and I have no other experience of a care home to compare to. I found Rose Lodge to be comfortable, clean and accessible. Bedroom and ensuite nice; lounges - nice and compatible to socialise. Staff were excellent - helpful and kind and I was well looked after. The only issue for me was the food - I would have liked more variety, but overall, I was happy at Rose Lodge.

Very friendly and caring staff - I have noticed all residents are kept clean and tidy and are very well looked after.

Sometimes some residents could do with more stimulation but realise this is difficult in a busy home.

My father in law was admitted to Rose Lodge in early December following a hospital admission from home. Although he was extremely upset to have to go into a care home, thanks to the patience and reassurance and the friendliness of the staff, he has settled well. He is making friends and enjoying the activities within the home. This has made a very difficult time for the family a much better experience. Thank you.

I can't praise Rose Lodge highly enough! The level of care my mum has received here is outstanding. She was very frail when she arrived but she has positively thrived here. The meals are excellent and she has gained weight since she came to Rose Lodge. The improvement has been amazing! The staff and manager are all very helpful, friendly and caring. I would highly recommend Rose Lodge to anyone who is looking for a care home place for a family member. Excellent in every aspect.

The quality of care my mother has received at Rose Lodge care home in the last eighteen months has been outstanding.

Overall I have found the standards at Rose Lodge to be very good. Whenever an issue has arisen it has been acted upon promptly. Contact has been consistent and informative. I have had no cause to worry that my mother is not being looked after properly and that her privacy and dignity is protected by the staff as best they can. I do feel that the home is understaffed and that there should be 3 carers on each unit at all times for safety reasons.

Most of the staff are very caring and will help residents and relatives in any way they can. Some go above and beyond what is required especially the laundry staff, activities coordinator and maintenance person.

The home is welcoming and run very efficiently by the manager.

My mam has been very unwell recently but the staff have given her so much excellent care and attention. They have also helped and supported me. Thank you, everyone.
