Welcome to Rose Lodge.

Rose Lodge is a purpose-built care home built in 2003 and then extended in 2004 to incorporate its specialised Dementia unit. Located in Cobblers Lane the home is located less than 2 miles from Newton Aycliffe Town Centre with 7 Sapphire bus stop on Burnhill Way and number 17 bus on Burn Lane.

The home is divided into four units, spread over two floors with the Lincoln and Hamilton suites housing 12 rooms for residential dementia residents and the main building caters for residential clients. All units have their own lounge and dining room for residents to relax and enjoy the delicious food cooked onsite in the homes kitchen.

There is a coffee shop in the main building with coffee corner and the snug in Lincoln and Hamilton units with complementary tea and coffee available for visitors to the home.

All bedrooms are provided fully furnished with en suite facilities and shared bathrooms and shower rooms with the option of personalising your own room with furniture from home and accessories should this be needed.

Rose Lodge's full-time activities coordinator provides residents with an extensive programme of activities, entertainment and events as well as trips out of the home to the local PCP groups. Its central location, regular coffee mornings and luncheon clubs, and charity fundraising events mean the home enjoys strong community links.

They have a 5-star award in Food Hygiene at the home and believe food is a huge aspect of their care at Rose Lodge and residents enjoy a cooked breakfast, choice of lunch and dinner meals, supper and hospitality trolley with drinks and cakes throughout the day.

I found this care home perfect for my aunt who has advanced dementia. Her meals were given to her already cut up to make eating much easier for her. Her care is person-centred. The activities she enjoyed were offered on a daily basis, her favourite will always be armchair exercises. We are so pleased
with the care home.

The staff are Rose Lodge Care Home do a very good job for my mum and residents. They are helpful and make sure that nothing is a bother. To me, the staff don't get paid enough for the job they do. It's hard work and demanding, hats off to the ladies and gentlemen you have at your company. Just to say
a special mention to the care home's cat, 19 years old and the residents love him at Rose Lodge.

Rose Lodge has always been a very welcoming and friendly home. Nothing is any trouble for the manager and the staff. They go over and above what they are asked to do. You can tell by photos on Facebook how happy and cared for are all the residents. I would not hesitate to recommend Rose Lodge to any
of my relatives and friends. It is the best-run home that I know of.

My mother has been a resident in Rose Lodge for the past three years, and in the three years so she been a resident the staff have been very friendly with all our family who visits her.
All staff are a credit to this home, my mam has recently passed away and the staff went over and beyond there duty’s
with hourly updates on the changes in our Mam, Covid-19 had made it difficult to visit but at the end of mams life, this was not an issue I would recommend this care home to anyone who seeks a caring friendly dignified home for their family member.
Well done Rose Lodge.

My mother spent 8 happy years here. The care she receives prolonged her life and gave her many happy times here. I still visit Rose Lodge regularly; a testimony to enduring good memories. The staff promote an atmosphere of a family home, not an institution. They obviously care for everyone as individuals.
I should add that the food is excellent, as a visitor you always feel you could sit down and eat with them, unlike many such places.

My nana seems happy at Rose Lodge. The carers are lovely and go over and above. Activities do seem a little lacking, although the coordinator works very hard, there seems to be a lack of staff to facilitate properly or frequently. Meals seem a little repetitive ie pork every Sunday.

My mam was taking into Rose Lodge Care Home due to ill health in May this year.
She was only in 9 weeks before she passed away but in those 9 weeks, she got the best care anyone could ask for. Mam got to know and love all the staff and they all loved my mam and for that, I am truly thankful to Rose

My stay at Rose Lodge was unexpected and I have no other experience of a care home to compare to. I found Rose Lodge to be comfortable, clean and accessible. Bedroom and ensuite nice; lounges - nice and compatible to socialise. Staff were excellent - helpful and kind and I was well looked after. The
only issue for me was the food - I would have liked more variety, but overall, I was happy at Rose Lodge.

Staff are very good, friendly with relatives but very caring with residents and treat them with dignity and respect. Residents are given freedom within the home and have outside areas they can use, weather permitting.
Sometimes some residents could do with more stimulation but realise this is difficult
in a busy home.

My father in law was admitted to Rose Lodge in early December following a hospital admission from home. Although he was extremely upset to have to go into a care home, thanks to the patience and reassurance and the friendliness of the staff, he has settled well. He is making friends and enjoying the
activities within the home. This has made a very difficult time for the family a much better experience. Thank you.

I can't praise Rose Lodge highly enough! The level of care my mum has received here is outstanding. She was very frail when she arrived but she has positively thrived here. The meals are excellent and she has gained weight since she came to Rose Lodge. The improvement has been amazing! The staff and
manager are all very helpful, friendly and caring. I would highly recommend Rose Lodge to anyone who is looking for a care home place for a family member. Excellent in every aspect.

Overall I have found the standards at Rose Lodge to be very good. Whenever an issue has arisen it has been acted upon promptly. Contact has been consistent and informative. I have had no cause to worry that my mother is not being looked after properly and that her privacy and dignity is protected by
the staff as best they can. I do feel that the home is understaffed and that there should be 3 carers on each unit at all times for safety reasons.

Whilst on a visit to see my mother-in-law two of the domestic staff made a snowman for my mother-in-law just outside her window. She thought it was lovely and it made her smile. It was a really nice thing to do and shows how caring and kind they both are.
