8.7 St Aidan Lodge has a Review Score of 8.7 (8.670)

The Review Score of 8.7 (maximum of 10) for St Aidan Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for St Aidan Lodge in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.928 for St Aidan Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (77 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.928

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

The 3.742 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Aidan Lodge is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.5

    2. Target of 12.4 positive Reviews (62 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 3 Reviews ÷ 12.4 Target = 0.242

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

It is a lovely home with friendly staff across the board. We have been going over a year and have nothing to complain about. We were very concerned about safety in the bungalow as being diagnosed with dementia we couldn't be there all the time, so safety was our first priority in looking at homes we are very happy with this one.

Since mam was put into your care, all staff have been so friendly caring and helpful not just to mam but to my dad, myself and my nephew. The management all care. Staff and cleaners were there for mam, myself and my nephew when dad died in December so would like to take this moment to say a big thank you to you all.

My father was a resident in this home for 12 months before his death at the age of 95 years. Throughout this time he was cared for with dignity and consideration by all staff who had contact with him. From initially being reluctant to become resident in a care home, he very quickly adjusted to his surroundings and soon felt very comfortable and safe with great support from all staff.
I visited him regularly and invariably found staff to be welcoming, helpful and responsive to his every need. Their approach was totally professional but always with a personal touch and my father's only comment when asked about the nurses was, "they are wonderful".
I would have no hesitation in recommending this home and am so pleased we chose it for my father. It is always a potential source of worry when placing a relative in residential care, but St Aidan's was reassuringly the right choice for my father and the standard of care exceptional.

It's 14 months since my Mum moved into St Aidan Lodge. Before deciding on a Care Home we looked round several, all were good but Mum required EMI support, and being prone to falls, she also required a low rise bed and Aidan Lodge could provide both of these. So despite being somewhat limited in choice, we realised very quickly that Mum ( and her family) were in good hands.
The staff are extremely welcoming and very supportive of what is a very difficult time for everyone.
We were able to furnish Mum's room just as she wanted it, nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
One of the nicest things about St Aidan Lodge is that the staff really try to get to know the residents, their background and their families. I can echo what another reviewer said, when you leave the Home you can do so in the knowledge that your loved one is in good hands.
The only thing that is missing is WiFi because many elderly (with help) use skype to stay in touch with family - particularly grandchildren.

St Aidans is a true caring home, the staff are all friendly from the cleaning staff to the top management. My mam lived there for 3 happy years, the place itself is kept clean and tidy and feels like home for the residents. Mam suffered with dementia/alzhemiers, the staff gave mam a great quality of life, they were attentive, encouraged her to do things for herself when she was still able. They have a great team who encourage and support residents. Please be rest assured if you are looking for a caring and loving homely environment, you couldn't choose a better place, every time I left mam after visiting her I felt rest assured she was totally cared for and in a safe environment where she was treated with help, support and love.
The staff at St. Aidan's are true carers and my family and I can't thank them enough for everything they did for my mam.

The help and care St Aidan Lodge have given us and my Grandmother from the first phone call to becoming a resident has been exceptional. The staff have been very keen to ensure we know that this is now her home and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very nice, light, bright and comfortable with an ensuite toilet and basin. The food is delicious and there is a great variety and choice. Activities are held daily and are fun and stimulating. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone.
