Mum has been at Valley Lodge for 4 years. She started to improve from day one, with regular meals, constant encouragement to drink, regular meds and the care and support of the brilliant staff.
She is obviously well loved and she thrives on the attention.

As a family, we are always welcomed and kept up to date with any changes.

My grandmother moved to Valley Lodge several months ago. Since her stay she has been so happy and settled, the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, I was so nervous with my grandmother's move but the manager really made me feel at ease. The home feels warm and homely when you walk in and the atmosphere is so welcoming.

Valley Lodge is highly recommended by our family. The staff have been brilliant with my father. I think it is excellent that you can visit whenever you wish. The home has gone above and beyond, staff/management always available to discuss my father’s needs.

My wife moved to Valley Lodge in January 2023. The buildings are purpose-built and always warm. The food is great, my wife has gone up two dress sizes! There are activities for the residents most days including singing/dancing, painting, baking and games. But the best aspect of Valley Lodge is the staff, all are kind, and friendly and cannot do enough for the residents.

My dad was moved here from another care home (dreadful experience) and the difference in him is significant.
He is less anxious, more comfortable, he smiles so much now and is clearly well-liked and looked after at the home.
The staff here are fantastic - they treat all of the residents like actual humans, who all have different needs and wants and when they're 'misbehaving' they use humour and their great personalities to overcome any issues.

I am really pleased that my dad is in this particular home. Having had such a bad experience previously, I feel lucky that he is finally getting the care he needs.

My mum moved to Valley Lodge 3 years ago, at times my mum could be extremely difficult, however, the staff treated her with nothing but respect and dignity at all times. They spent time getting to know her as an individual and built a good relationship with her which I didn't think would happen.
As a family, I always felt included and supported and I felt confident to voice any issues with the staff and manager and they would be resolved.
I cannot thank all the staff enough for what they did for my mum. She sadly passed away recently and they continued to show nothing but respect and compassion.
I will always recommend Valley Lodge as they literally changed our lives for the better.

Thank you to the manager and her team.

We are very happy with the care and support my Mum receives at Valley Lodge. She settled in immediately and made friends with other residents. She is very contented. The manager and staff are lovely and very helpful with any queries we have. It has been a huge relief for us as a family, due to my mum no longer being able to be cared for at home due to her Alzheimer's. We would definitely recommend Valley Lodge.

The last two years have been difficult for us all, no more than for care home residents and their families. Valley Lodge has done well to protect residents from the virus. I don't believe my wife could have been better cared for in the circumstances.

My mother has settled well in Valley Lodge and is very happy. The staff are all very caring towards her and she enjoys the banter they have with her.

We as a family know that she is in a safe place and having excellent care and therefore we are very thankful to all the staff at Valley Lodge.

I was so impressed by the support and standard of care the Valley Lodge gave my Mum. She spent the last 12 months of her life in their care. She suffered from vascular dementia and was prone to falling. She needed 24-hour care having good days and bad days. Nothing was too much for the staff - always had a smiley face Mum said. I was able to telephone every day if necessary to find out how she was. This really helped. all the staff were brilliant and Mum told me how happy she was and felt loved and cared for and it had become her home. I loved to see her after the pamper days as she looked so lovely and cared for. We are so grateful for all you did during the time Mum spent in your care.

Our gran has been in Valley Lodge for just over a year. All staff we have met have been excellent, very upbeat, attentive to her needs, and nothing is ever too much for them. We, as a family, know it can be difficult at times to care for a relative with Alzheimer’s. The staff are very understanding and have their own ways of speaking and interacting with gran in a way that keeps her calm and can bring out her smile. The staff treat gran like she is apart of their own family, and we, as a family, are forever grateful for the 24-hour/365-days a year care they provide. They are our hero’s and deserve recognition for the work of going above and beyond their job roles. Thank you for all your hard work.

My father was a resident at Valley Lodge from Sept 2019 until he sadly passed away in Sept 2020, we are so thankful as a family to have been able to place dad in such a fantastic caring home. My dad had advanced dementia and at times was very aggressive and difficult all the staff treated my dad with such passion and dignity it was admirable to see they all have a fantastic understanding of dementia and knew exactly how to approach my dad. We can honestly not thank the team enough for not only caring for my dad the way they did but also the rest of the family. They allowed us to spend precious time with dad before he passed even during the covid lockdown, all the staff were still positive and cheerful although constantly in full PPE. The home is always clean and welcoming and has a real home from home feel. All the staff are fantastic and their care for not only the residents but each other is heartwarming to see. A massive well done to the team and thank you.

This home is a very caring place of both its residents and their relatives. Over this last month, with more difficulties due to coronavirus, I think we, the relatives, have all felt that our loved ones have been very well looked after and we have been informed in good time, of changes in the visiting regime. I must congratulate all the staff for their very loyal attitude to the situation.

Back in Jan 2019 we were advised by the hospital to think about the next steps for my mum who has got Corticobasal degenerative disorder. The last thing we ever wanted was to have to consider moving my mum to a care home but unfortunately, we weren't able to give my mum the 24-hour care she needed anymore. Unfortunately, there are not enough EMI nursing homes about after visiting all within a 30 mile drive from my mum's home, we decided on Valley Lodge. My mum has now lived at Valley Lodge for 18 months. My mum was so poorly we never thought she would would be at Valley Lodge 6 weeks, never mind 18 months. The staff are always upbeat which shows through the residents. They're well cared for, especially throughout Covid. We've been able to keep in touch with my mum via video calls and through Facebook, where we are able to see photos of all the residents through a private page. Thank you for all that you are doing throughout these hard times.

I can't recommend Valley Lodge more. My mother entered their care in November 2018 with very complex mental, physical and emotional needs. She has been shown unconditional positive regard by the staff consistently. The team treat her with the utmost respect and have preserved her dignity at all times.
The manager communicates honestly and transparently whenever any changes need to be made to her care. I trust her judgement implicitly and have every confidence that my mother's welfare is a priority.
Valley Lodge is always clean with a fun, friendly atmosphere. The staff feel like extended family members and have consistently given emotional support to us as relatives during some very trying times.

My mother is at end of life care now, and I know that her comfort and care is the best it can possibly be. I really can't fault it at all and will always be grateful for the love and humanity showed by the team.

My wife is a resident in Valley Lodge since 20/09/2018 and I know it is the perfect home to be. The care and the attention that she gets is absolutely

first class, it puts my mind at rest because I miss her so much. Before the lockdown I visited my wife every day and could see the dedication and thoughtfulness and the care she and the other residents received, which is very important to me. I've got my whole 100% trust in all the staff. I think that the home's manager is doing a tremendous job of keeping Valley Lodge free of the Coronavirus. If I wasn't 100% happy my wife wouldn't be there.

I wish to say that whilst my father was in his final home for the last 2 1/2 yrs of his 91 he was treated with dignity respect but above all with love. The perfect home set in idyllic Welsh countryside was his perfect place to end his days.

The respect and love of the staff was shown to all family friends but above all to the residents. You were always made to be part of their wonderful caring family. Nothing was too much trouble, especially the chef a special thank you for the copious never-ending cups of tea and bickies.

From the first point of contact with the manager who invited us along to meet with her and view the home we were absolutely in love the home was very welcoming, clean and had a friendly homely atmosphere with outstanding views, what surprised us the most in comparison to previous homes was how calm it felt for a dementia home.
We spoke in length with the manager who was extremely friendly she answered so many questions for us and helped put our mind at ease.
My dad moved in one week later and the care my dad received was outstanding he quickly settled and often told us he liked it here the manager and staff always had a smile on their face and always made us feel welcome.
My mum and I would visit most days and we actually enjoyed spending time with all the staff and we began to feel like a family.

Unfortunately, my dad's dementia deteriorated and he was eventually nursed in bed until the end of his life this was done with great dignity and respect to my dad but also us.
