Overall Experience

My husband has been a resident at Ashgrove Residential care home for four years where he has always been treated with the utmost care and dignity. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the family is always made welcome. Everywhere is always kept clean and bright. Food is really good and the activity staffs are always thinking up ways of keeping residents entertained. They have regular visits from singers local school children and are taken out on trips.

I found the home to be warm and welcoming to residents and families. My grandmother was a resident for 3 years until she died recently. The staff always appeared to be genuinely caring and helpful. They displayed warmth and empathy to her and were always interested how they could improve her well being. I feel that they genuinely cared that made such a difference to her and to me. I have been in quite a few care homes with my work and not found any of their staff to be as caring as the ones in Ashgrove.

My mum has been at Ashgrove nearly 7 years. Myself and the family are very happy with the service. Management, carers, cleaners, kitchen staff, activities and laundry they are all very friendly. Its always spotlessly clean, and my mum says the food is very good too, and its lovely to see all the residents singing, dancing when they have entertainment they really enjoy themselves. Thank you to each and everyone at Ashgrove for all their hard work and dedication.

Mum moving to Ash Grove has been a life changing experience for her and for us as her family. I can't speak highly enough of the care mum receives, every member of staff, regardless of their role go out of their way to look after my mum with care and compassion, all her needs are met. The care staff are amazing; the Senior staff work extremely hard to ensure health care needs are met, they are professional and do a great job of liaising with other health care professionals. The care staff are friendly, warm and so hard working and respectful. Caretakers, kitchen staff, admin and laundry staff are friendly and professional. Ash Grove is very well run by excellent managers who listen to residents and families. The activity coordinators are amazing and organise high quality activities every day . The home is beautifully decorated and is a real 'home from home' . I thank my lucky stars every day that my mum is fortunate enough to be a resident of Ash Grove

My mother has been a resident at Ashgrove for the past 11 months. She has dementia, and I cannot fault the care and compassion she has been given at Ashgrove. The personal and social care has been outstanding, and going to visit my mum is always an uplifting experience. I cannot give enough praise to the staff and management of the home. My mum has more of a spark about her since being there and always has a lovely, fresh, clean appearance. I feel blessed that she is there.

We have a very close friend in Ashgrove.
The care home is of the highest standards standards of care and cleanliness, the whole team of staff go that extra mile to ensure all residents are cared for to the highest standards.
It's more like a hotel for the elderly than a care home. Entertainment virtually every day, great food, etc.
Visiting times are not restricted except for meal times.
The residents have hairdressers, nail pampering etc.

It's simply the best place to know your loved ones are going to be treated with the utmost care and respect you would want for them.

Our mum has been here for nearly two years and we've never once had a complaint, the girls are brilliant, so caring and genuinely kind and so helpful we can relax knowing she is having the best care. A special message to her carers who go out of there way to keep us updated, I’d say this home is probably one of the best you could ever find. Absolutely brilliant, thank you for everything you do for our mum!

I have just come back from visiting my mum and decided to take the time to review Ashleigh Court. My mum is 91in mobile and has special dietary needs due to a stroke. This does not stop her from enjoying life. She is extremely happy living in Ashleigh Court. She calls Ashleigh Court a hotel because she feels like she is on holiday! She enjoys the activities especially bingo, quizzes and entertainment such as singers and dances. She tells the staff she dances in her mind. In reality, a member of staff holds her hands and they dance together. The whole team are kind, caring and dedicated to their roles. The management is approachable and includes me in decisions about mums care. In difficult times the staff have supported me. Whenever we visit we are welcomed. Ashleigh Court has a happy relaxed atmosphere. It is more than a home it is a family that care. I am so grateful to the staff on so many levels. I would highly recommend.

Mother has been at the care home for approximately 18 months. After a shaky start, mainly due to bad management, I have to say that since the new manager has take over the place is excellently run. Lovely, happy, caring staff. Homely atmosphere. Spotlessly clean unit. Plenty of varied entertainment and trips for residents to garden centres etc. Staff are knowledgeable and if medical (GP) treatment is required are on the ball and prompt. They also liaise well with relatives. All in all an excellent unit - would highly recommend! Thank you all for all you do!

Ashgrove Care Home is very special. It has welcomed my mother and made her feel safe, nurtured and 'at home'. Moving out of your own home, into a care home and via a prolonged hospital admission is both stressful and emotional for the person involved, as well as their family. Ashgrove goes above and beyond to ease that change/transition and make their residents comfortable, valued, involved and truly cared for.

Thank you all at Ashgrove, especially the management, for caring so well for my mother.

I moved my mum to this care home after a short spell of respite care elsewhere. My mum had given up and deteriorated rapidly.
Within a week of visiting Ashgrove, the manager completed an assessment of mum, found her a room and moved her over from the other home. The transition was extremely smooth and straightforward and my mum settled there amazingly in a short space of time.
I cannot find fault with anything at Ashgrove. The staff are amazing and very caring towards my mum.
My mum always looks happy, well kept and alert. She refers to Ashgrove as home and her general health has improved, ie her mobility and confidence.
The staff are extremely patient with my mum whose sleep pattern is very erratic. I feel very welcome to visit whenever I want to, using access pads to gain entry.
The atmosphere is relaxed with plenty of activities available to stimulate my mum.

The staff have transformed her quality of life and I feel at ease that my mum is in the best possible hands.

My step-father was resident in Ashgrove after a stroke. He was well cared for until his death 12 years ago. My mother visited every day until the end. She then use Ashgrove as a hotel for many years, daily taking coffee and lunch whilst living, mostly at her home. Occasionally "holidaying" for a week at a time, then 2 weeks, then 4 weeks. she loved the home, she loved the staff and the atmosphere. Two years ago, out of choice, she moved in permanently. By now it was her home. After Xmas she developed terminal cancer and went downhill rapidly, throughout her suffering, the care, from manager through care staff, canteen staff and even the care and maintenance man was exemplary. All did their best.

The home is very welcoming, clean and bright, including comfortable bedrooms and lounges. Carers are very attentive towards the residents and try to include them in different activities. The choice of food is excellent, even visitors are offered a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit. Beautiful gardens surround the home.
