lovely and I can't thank them enough for the care they gave her throughout. Thank you.

Ashgrove

from Em B (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum moving to Ash Grove has been a life changing experience for her and for us as her family. I can't speak highly enough of the care mum receives, every member of staff, regardless of their role go out of their way to look after my mum with care and compassion, all her needs are met. The care staff
are amazing; the Senior staff work extremely hard to ensure health care needs are met, they are professional and do a great job of liaising with other health care professionals. The care staff are friendly, warm and so hard working and respectful. Caretakers, kitchen staff, admin and laundry staff are friendly and professional. Ash Grove is very well run by excellent managers who listen to residents and families. The activity coordinators are amazing and organise high quality activities every day . The home is beautifully decorated and is a real 'home from home' . I thank my lucky stars every day that my mum is fortunate enough to be a resident of Ash Grove
Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Head of Marketing at AshgroveThank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We're truly delighted to hear how positive your mum's experience at Ash Grove has been and how much it has meant to both her and your family. Your kind words about our whole team - from care and senior staff to activities, housekeeping, kitchen, and administration - mean a great deal and will be shared with everyone. It's especially lovely to hear that Ash Grove feels like a real "home from home."

Thank you again for your support and for trusting us with your mum's care.

Manager and staff have been excellent all throughout the process of moving my sister into full time care. Extremely supportive and helpful. They are brilliant. Everyone there is very welcoming and friendly. Smiles on everyone, staff and residents too. My sister has physical and mental health issues

Moving a loved one to a care home is a very difficult time but from the very start the Manager and Head of Care were excellent in their support and Mum was made to feel so welcome. She has settled in really well and is content, safe, happy and very well cared for - all thanks to the amazing care she
receives - the staff are patient, kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble and the home itself has multiple spacious communal areas giving residents plenty of space. Tegfield has a real family feeling and we are so grateful Mum is now living in a such a safe and happy environment.

We've been very happy with mum's care. The rooms, catering, facilities, services, events, cleanliness are all excellent, as are all the staff. We get plenty of updates, so we always know what is happening each week. The staff are lovely, very caring and patient, always attentive, they let us know how
mum is doing and whether she needs anything. The home has a friendly atmosphere, is spacious with nice inside communal spaces as well as a patio, garden and large lawned area. I'm very happy mum is there and that she calls it her home. I have no criticisms at all.

It was my mums first time at a care home and she was very anxious, it was clear from entering Harlow hall that it was a friendly and welcoming place, more like a hotel was my first impression. My mum soon settled in and the staff were amazing friendly, and tentative to all her needs. Activities and
entertainment which include a cinema beauty salon, crafts a sky bar tribute bands and dances trips out to name a few, these are encouraged but never forced and was lovely that the staff are tuned in to everybody's individual needs, my mum had a great time at Harlow hall and they even made her birthday special with other residents and a cake.I can't recommend Harlow hall enough and my mum will be returning soon with confidence, thank you guys so much.

My sister moved in here a month ago at fairly short notice and it is therefore quite a sudden change of circumstances for her. She has been made very welcome and I am particularly struck by how well all the staff know who she is and also the records they keep of how she is doing. And how friendly they
all are!
Her room is perfect for her, lovely and clean with decent storage space for her personal possessions and the communal rooms are also good.
There also seems to be a very wide variety of activities for the residents to join in and I am pleased to hear she has been to many of them.
My only other comment is that checking in her could possibly have been handled better but that was probably down to the time we arrived which was late on a Friday afternoon.
Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Head of Marketing at Harlow HallThank you for sharing your feedback. We're delighted to hear that your sister has settled in well and feels welcomed at Harlow Hall.

It's wonderful to know that our team's friendly, attentive care and the cleanliness and comfort of her room have made a positive difference, and that she is enjoying the variety of activities available. We also appreciate your constructive comments about the admission process and will use it to improve future arrivals.

Having been transferred from Pembury to Hawkhurst House for non weight bearing physio, I was very emotional.
After a couple of days I felt relaxed and comfortable with the care and kindness of staff in all areas.
I can't name them all but they know who they are. When I was sad they were there and
when I laughed we laughed together.
Thank you all so muchxxxx
Reply from Gail Watkins, Registered Manager at Hawkhurst House PAUI truly appreciate you taking the time to submit a review, thank you. The team were pleased to assist you in your recovery journey and I will share this review with them.

What an amazing care home, its like entering a five star hotel...When we arrived from hospital with Mum (after A four week hospital stay for a full shoulder shoulder replacement) we were greeted by a lovely young lady with a beautiful smile for us all and an extra smile for Mum. We immediately new that
Mum would be happy here and a week in we were not wrong. All the staff are highly trained and attend to Mums every needs. Its so refreshing to meet so many people that are still smiling and offering support to residents and visitors at the end of a long day. The Home is fully kitted out for all the support that anyone might need plus extras, there is an extensive menu for the residents that is prepared in-house by an amazing Chef...his cakes are the best we have ever eaten....yes Visitors can have a cuppa and cake too... Gurmeet the Home Manage and Lucy make the home complete these two Ladies are as dedicated as they come. When I leave Mum after a visit I know she is Safe and Happy.

My father has been a resident for a couple of years. We are all really satisfied with the level of care that he receives. All staff are very caring and considerate, and they all show respect and treat my father very well. One of the most significant features of the home is the visibility and accessibility
of the senior staff team. The nursing and administrative team are highly approachable and friendly. The manager is always on hand and her door always open. Myself and the family would have no hesitation in recommending the home to others.
Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Head of Marketing at Aldergrove Manor Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. My Mum lived at Bethel House for almost 3 years. It became her home. She was lovingly cared for by the team at Bethel House. Her food was always wonderful and, even though she was confined to her room by illness, the entertainment team regularly visited her. You can tell when you walk into Bethel
that the team are friends with each other which gives a warm ambiance and this naturally passes on to the residents, giving a feeling of comfort and a happy atmosphere. During Mum's final days, the team also cared for me and my husband. I can wholeheartedly recommend this team at Bethel House.
Reply from Abbey Doyle, Manager at Bethel HouseThank you for your lovely review and kind words about the team. I find all the staff are friendly and approachable, if you ask, nothing is too much trouble. There have been times when my uncles hair has not been washed or his teeth cleaned. There have been occasions where he has been returned to his room and left without the TV on. Mostly things are done and the
staff are always very kind to him.

Harlow Hall has become a second family to my husband who had to go into care a year ago due to his increasing health needs. From the time he arrived at Harlow Hall was welcomed by all the kind, caring & friendly staff. He has settled into the home well & enjoys the wide range of activities on
offer, especially the summer BBQs & football at the local club which is organised by the home for residents! Harlow Hall has a positive culture & a wonderful community spirit which is a testament to their core values! The home continues to be responsive & supportive to my husband's health & social care needs! My husband is safe & I cannot recommend the home more! Thank you so much Harlow Hall for the excellent service.
