Our great aunt was placed in Cornford House just over a year ago. This is based on the year she spent there. The house is situated in lovely grounds. The house is bright, open and welcoming and homely. Our aunt spent her last year of her life at Cornford and we would just like to thank all the staff
there for doing such a special job. Thank you all so much x

Harlow Hall

from Jackie P (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Thank you to everyone at Harlow Hall for your exceptional care and support during Dad's transition to residential living. Your professionalism, kindness, and patience made a difficult time so much easier for the both of us.
Thanks to your compassionate approach, Dad has settled in well. There were
a few hurdles along the way, but nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Your facilities are excellent, the activities are engaging (loved the VR experience and petting zoo), and the meals definitely deserve their 5 star rating! Most importantly, you've made Dad feel welcome and valued. He's never lonely, and that means everything. Thank you for all you do.

Reply from Lindsay Mahoney, Hospitality & Wellbeing Manager at Harlow Hall

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is wonderful to know that that care and support shown by the team not only made the move to Harlow Hall easier for your dad but helped you also. We are so pleased to hear that he has settled in well, made new friends and and is enjoying the excellent activities programme, the VR headsets are very popular! Our chefs are very passionate about creating delicious homemade meals and your lovely feedback will be passed on to them, along with the rest of the team at Harlow Hall. Malden House

from Jo E (Wife of Resident) published on 12 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My husband has been at Malden House since mid-February, discharged there from hospital following a short stay due to a decline in health, including dementia and poor mobility. As he was previously a weekly day care visitor he quickly settled in to a full-time stay, making a good recovery from his poor
health to a level better than in many weeks. His time at Malden gave me a chance to recharge, having been his full-time home carer for 8 years. We've been made so welcome by the kind and friendly staff, the manager and the management team, it's been an immense relief to know he's safe and well looked after. I've enjoyed quality time taking him on outings and visits to the home, we've both enjoyed taking part in activities and feeling part of the Malden community. For personal reasons we're reverting to care at home, but we're pleased to maintain the day care visits and valuable link to Malden, which from the start has made such a positive difference and continues.

Reply from Lindsay Mahoney, Hospitality & Wellbeing Manager at Malden House

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is wonderful to hear how much your husband enjoys his day visits and respite stay at Malden House and that during his stay with us his health has improved. It is also great to know that this time also gave you a chance to recharge and relax knowing that he was being well cared for, supported and safe at Malden House and this gave you the opportunity to spend quaility time with him. We will pass on your kind words to the team at Malden House.

Malden House

from Neil A (Son of Resident) published on 11 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum went into Malden House last September, after having looked at four other homes. Though very reluctant at first Mum has settled in well. Thanks to the Manager and the team, she is well looked after and there is always someone around to cater for her needs. Mum suffers with anxiety but since moving
in, this has reduced considerably - I think it's the company of other residents and the security of knowing help is available 24/7. The entire team go about their duties with compassion and empathy and form strong relationships with each other and the residents. For anyone looking for care for a loved one, I would strongly recommend Malden House.

Reply from Lindsay Mahoney, Hospitality & Wellbeing Manager at Malden House

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is heart warming to know how the anxiety your mum experiences has lessened since coming to Malden House and no doubt making new friends and the amazing care and support she receives has helped with this. The team at Malden House pride themselves on the family feel around the home and to know that this has not only been noticed but acknowledged will make them very happy. Thank you for choosing Malden House, your kind words will be passed on to the team.

Mum came to Highfield when I could no longer cope with her condition. The staff are truly exceptional at the home, nothing was too much trouble. The management staff on Mum's admittance were so kind during such a stressful time for us. Mum received excellent care from all the staff with such patience.
I shall forever be indebted to the home for making it a positive experience

Woodlands House

from Gerry M (Daughter of Resident) published on 6 August 2025

Dad settled in well for his two week stay at Woodlands House. He had a gorgeous room overlooking the gardens with a large bathroom. All of the staff that I encountered were so lovely and truly caring, helping Dad become accustomed to care home life during his short stay. I particularly liked the fact
that we, as a family, had online access to his care records. It certainly appeared that Dad enjoyed the food and often partook in the daily arranged activities. I've used two large care groups now; care Uk and Hartford group. I far prefer engagement with Hartford and will be using the group again in future for respite stays.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is wonderful to hear how well your dad settled in to Woodlands House and that you were happy with the care and support he received from the team. It's also great to know how he enjoyed his room and the homemade meals prepared by our amazing chef. Knowing how your loved one is while you are not with them is very important, so we are glad you were happy with the access to his care records, so, as a family, you could rest assured knowing he was being well looked after. We will pass on your kind words to the team at Woodlands House and look forward to welcoming you back.

Cornford House

from Sue H (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 July 2025

My Mother was placed in Cornford House Nursing Home for assessment, via Pathway 3, on discharge from hospital.
All the carers and staff involved with my Mother's care and needs are approachable, friendly, kind and attentive.
Every carer who I meet, are well informed of my Mother's needs, personality,
medications and food preferences.
I feel that the standard of care at Cornford House is excellent.
The surroundings are pleasant, my Mother has a garden view, and being split level, there is also a lovely 'cafe garden' in a courtyard with plants all around it on the floor above her room.
The activities co-ordinator has gone to great lengths to ensure my Mother feels happy to join in with things, as she was initially reluctant. The onsite hairdressers and daily events onsite are excellent. My mother particularly enjoys the pet therapy mornings, as do I. Relatives are welcomed to join in. I thoroughly recommend Cornford House and would trust all the staff who I have met.

My mum has unfortunately passed, but in the short time (12 months) she was in your care she was treated with kindness and dignity. She enjoyed all activities until she became to frail to attend. All staff were fabulous and went over and above catering for her needs and always welcoming and helpful to
family and friends visiting.

The staff at Pine Lodge are superb. They provide care, compassion and company.
Six weeks ago, my aunt was afflicted with severe, hospital-related pressure sores, and she was only eating soup and ice cream. Today, the sores are healing well and she eats like a horse!

I have to say that in the really hot weather we've had recently, all the Staff and Activity Staff have been truly amazing. The Manager is also a very special person who treats everyone equally and with respect. All of the above mean Highfield Nursing Home in Ryde is a wonderful facility. It really
must be incredibly difficult in extreme heat for Residents and Staff, so well done all Helpers from Staff and Volunteers.

Dad was diagnosed with dementia in 2015 and has been looked after at Bethel House for the past 6 years. The staff are professional, kind and compassionate,:nothing is too much trouble. There are excellent activities daily, the rooms and overall environment is cheerful and the food is excellent. I have
often been asked to recommend a care home over the past few years and never had any hesitation in recommending Bethel House. Dementia is a horrible disease and to know that your loved ones are being looked after with care and compassion at least gives comfort that you are doing all that you can.

Harlow Hall

from Diane T (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum was not able to enjoy the facilities of Harlow Hall for very long, due to an unexpectedly rapid decline in her health, but we were very grateful that she was so well cared for during her last days. The admission process was very smooth and she was able to move in three days after my initial enquiry.
Rooms are modern with en suite wet rooms, the corridors are wide and carpeted. The communal lounges are nicely furnished and there are several smaller areas and rooms where you can sit and have a quiete chat with family or friends.

Above all, without exception, the Staff and Carers were all amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they treated Mum and us with the utmost kindness at every stage. They did everything they could to ease us through her last days. I cannot recommend Harlow Hall highly enough to anyone looking for a caring environment for a loved one.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in Mum's care, you're doing a fantastic job.

The whole experience from beginning to end was efficient warm and welcoming. The home is bright and has a lovely homely feel. The staff couldn't do enough to care for my Aunt for 4weeks respite,to joining in with activities to eating with others encouraging her be part of their family feel. To take
time to have a chat and a cuppa so important in her wellbeing. To have her so close to us for that short time really helped us as a family in many ways.
Thank you all.
