My father stayed for a week of respite care while my brother (who lives with him) was on holiday. It was very nice to be able to leave him in such pleasant surroundings. Everything was fine and it is good to know that we may be able to use Hartford Court again in the future, when my brother goes away.

Reply from Lilly McNeill, Marketing Assistant at Hartford Court

We're delighted to hear that your father enjoyed his stay with us and that you felt reassured knowing he was in such pleasant surroundings while your brother was away. We were very happy with the love and care shown to Mum. Appreciative of the short notice respite care, that moved into permanent care.
John and Amanda supportive and kind as were all staff we engaged with. Although Mums stay was short, she was well looked after and seemed happy every time we visited. Never anxious to return when we went out either, which is comforting.
I would have no hesitation in recommending HC to other families looking for dementia care for loved ones.
A real homely environment.

Thank you.

I cannot praise Hartford Court and its staff highly enough. My elderly dementia-sufferer mother had become unsafe at home, so we needed to find a safe environment for her that we (myself and my brother) were happy for her to be in. Hartford Court not only took into account my mum's situation, but mine as well, as her primary carer for the previous 9 years. The kindness and reassurance shown to both of us by Amanda the manager and John, her assistant, made an incredibly difficult decision so much less awful. And much to my amazement, after less than 2 weeks, mum was a different person: sunnier, happier, more ready to actively engage in conversations and happily joining in any activities offered. The change in her was remarkable. She was always perfectly happy to return there too, after trips out with me, which was further confirmation of her being happy and comfortable being there. I would absolutely 100% recommend Hartford Court and all it's lovely staff to ANYONE.

Amazing staff who always went the extra mile to see that all the residents were safe and involved in the activities that were put on. Great stimulation created for them by visiting singers, quizzes and other daily activities.

Great menu too with good choice of food. Fully recommend Hartford Court but my husband still wanted to be with me.

I visited Hartford Court today for the first time and was really impressed. The home was welcoming and the administrator asked me who I was here to see and made sure I went to the right place. The home was immaculately clean and the staff were really helpful. My friend said she liked being at Hartford Court as it was cheerful and she has made new friends. What she really likes is the fact that the staff treat her with dignity and respect. She has the options to join in activities as she wishes. This was a really nice visit and I look forward to returning. She also said that she enjoys the food - there is plenty of it and she always has a good choice. She told me that she had made the right choice when she chose Hartford Court.

I came to get my dad settled.
The teams team were very accommodating for all our needs and requests.
All the team were brilliant, from Diane at the front desk, Lindsay, Shane and the maintenance team, and most importantly the everyday team.
We were made to feel welcome at every interaction.
The day team were very kind and generous with their time, fitting us in for lunch and dinner.

Thank you to everyone.

My experience with Hartford Court continues to be very good. My mum tells me every time I visit (very regularly) that she can't fault the place and that the staff are all wonderful. My own personal experience with the staff is also excellent, they all seem to know Mum very well - they understand her needs, they also have a laugh with her and keep her happy! If I ever had any concerns or special requests regarding Mum, I always feel listened to and they go above and beyond to assist with anything that I discuss with them. In my opinion (and where my Mum is concerned) - the activities are a huge part of making Hartford Court such a good fit for us. The variation of games, singers, coffee mornings etc. make the time for them in there so enjoyable - and between meals there is always something for them to do or people around to chat to!

We had a lovely afternoon with Mum and Dad today. It is great for them to be able to see a lot of each other as they are on the same floor. We used the drinks machine in reception which was useful during our stay. All staff were helpful, as usual, and seemed to have a good rapport with them both.

I have visited many care homes visiting elderly Christian friends and family. I have never found one like Hartford Court where all the staff are so warm and friendly. Two people I could mention at Hartford Court is the entertainment staff and the reception staff. Both these staff members exude care and compassion to residents and visitors alike. However, I could not exclude other members of staff for also showing empathy. The home is always warm and welcoming. It is clean and friendly. Thank you for your care provided.

Hard to find fault with the quality of the care provided. All staff are happy to help and always give the impression of enjoying working at the home.

The review would have been a negative one if completed last month, however an ongoing issue was finally resolved by the ingenuity of the staff. Shame the company didn't step in quicker to sort given the cost of staying there.

My mum is in a lovely care home with extremely hard-working staff. The facilities are always clean and bright, the garden is beautiful and having access to the outdoors on a balcony on the first floor is a great addition. Mum came to Hartford Court around six weeks ago. She's definitely in the right place, physically she looks better, with rosy cheeks, clean! Weight gain (necessary) and also stimulated by seeing more people, interacting and taking part in activities, particularly musical ones!

Attractive exterior and reception. Same for communal rooms. Bathrooms good, bedroom bare but realise can be enhanced by relatives.

My dear wife is also blind, and needs two carers for toileting and transition. My only concern, being blind she is often just staring into darkness for hours. I note she often responds to other nearby people in error thinking they are talking to her, sad. Appears to lack a friend. I appreciate it's not easy to solve. We both love the staff and kindness.
